Movable Roller Patents (Class 269/289MR)
  • Patent number: 4339117
Abstract: Apparatus for forming a wood roof truss, or the like, comprising a system which includes a wood member positioning and upper fastener engaging station for arranging and maintaining wood members in positions corresponding to the ultimate positions of the wood members in the completed truss, a fastener embedding station for permanently anchoring upper and lower fastener in the wood members to fix the wood members in their ultimate positions with respect to one another, and a wood roof truss stacking station for automatically moving a completed wood roof truss from a substantially horizontal position to an upright position. The wood member positioning and upper fastener engaging station includes wood member receiver having associated therewith unique truss elevating and advancer for quickly and simultaneously raising the partially fixed wood members of the truss, thereby enabling the wood members to be rapidly moved, as a unit, to the next station in the system.

  • Patent number: 4191339
Abstract: An apparatus (20) for supporting rotatably a reel (27) of cable so that it may be turned, for example, to render ends of the cable accessible for connectorization, includes a pair of spaced, parallel cradle rolls (30, 31), which in rest positions are in engagement with a support surface of a base plate (51). A reel is moved so that its flanges are supported on a reference surface (43) which extends between the cradle rolls and which is generally coincident with a factory floor surface that is spaced above the base plate. An actuating member (60, 60') associated with each cradle roll is moved from an unoperated position toward its associated cradle roll to cause wedges (69-69) extending from the actuating member and between the cradle roll and the base plate to cam the cradle roll upwardly along inclined surfaces of the wedges and vertical surfaces of bearing blocks (56--56) adjacent one side of each cradle roll in which passive satellite rollers (53--53) are mounted rotatably.

  • Patent number: 4112303
Abstract: An x-ray source and a detector array are mounted on opposite sides of a generally horizontally extending longitudinal axis of a rotating base. The rotating base is journaled on a tiltable frame. The frame is supported on curved tracks for tilting by translating along a curved path about a fixed transverse virtual axis of rotation which is perpendicular to and intersects the rotational axis of the rotating base. Tilting the frame permits making an x-ray scan through a layer of a patient which is at an acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The azimuth drive for the rotatable frame utilizes a toothed belt. A self-acting friction brake is provided for constraining the rocking base. A hoist is provided for making installation and removal of the x-ray source convenient.

  • Patent number: 4106183
Abstract: A workpiece is shifted forwardly and rearwardly beneath a punch and a transversely spaced cutting torch by a work table formed with a comparatively wide fore-and-aft extending throat for accommodating a die and a duct which underlie the punch and the torch, respectively. The throat is partially filled by platforms which normally support the overlying portions of the workpiece to reduce deflection thereof but which are adapted to be automatically moved out of the way of the rear of the table when the table is shifted forwardly.

  • Patent number: 4013282
Abstract: A machine tool work table having a plurality of work piece supporting roller mechanisms is disclosed in which the roller mechanisms are detachably mounted on the table from an undersurface by means of a support strap having outturned flange ended side walls which project through the work table and rest atop surface portions of the work table openings through which the roller members project.
