  • Patent number: 5984311
Abstract: A license plate observation game is played by passengers traveling in an automobile by reading information on official bureaus of motor vehicle license plates, recording that information and scoring points directly from the recorded information or derivatives thereof. Points are scored by attributing values to the alphanumeric characters and pictures or images on the license plates and to the origin of the license plate. Each number on the license plate is worth its numerical value. Each alphabetic character on the license plate is attributed one point. Additional points may be gained by correlating specific alphanumeric combinations, abbreviations or variations to proper names and words from both the alphabetic and numeric characters. Players enhance their scores by making the most favorable alphanumeric correlations possibly discernable from the license plates.

  • Patent number: 5951017
Abstract: Disclosed is an assembly of flexible metal contact bars for a coin-operated path game unit. The assembly includes a fixed supporting block having a rubber-ring-attached shaft frictionally contacting with a driven sliding block having a rubber-pad-attached top. Two electrodes are fixedly attached to the sliding block and extend toward a rotating spiral path in the game unit. When the path game unit is actuated by an inserted coin, the shaft of the fixed supporting block rotates with the rubber ring thereof frictionally contacting with the rubber pad on the driven sliding block to move the sliding block toward the path, so that the two electrodes separately locate above and below the path. The electrode each is formed from at least two metal contact bars flexibly connected to one another by a spring between them, such that the metal contact bar forming a free end of the electrode may bias in any direction to avoid damage when the electrode collides with the path.

  • Patent number: 5566939
Abstract: A chemically reactive racing game is provided on a sheet of suitable paper or other material, which sheet is provided with a series of equal length combustible tracks or paths thereon, connected to a single starting point. The single starting point is provided with another chemical which is more highly combustible, and is capable of ignition solely by frictionally striking an abrasive article there across. The starting point provides sufficient heat to ignite the slow combustion process of the paths, with the player corresponding to the first path to be completely consumed, being the winner. The paths are preferably configured to terminate in a straight finish line which is perpendicular to the portions of the paths immediately adjacent thereto, whether the paths be straight or curved.

Both sets of playing cards are water resistant and contain first indicia to differentiate the two sets of playing cards from each other and second indicia to differentiate among the playing cards in each set. The first set of playing cards has thereon a number indicating the number of times a player is to be sprayed with water. The second set of playing cards is used to construct a hand wherein the player having a higher hand wins and becomes the winning player for that round with the other player or players becoming the losers.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a card game intended to develop the knowledge and associate skills of the player. The game is made up of a plurality of cards with a first portion having an illustration covered and concealed by a material that can be removed by scratching and a second portion having a plurality of descriptive identifiers one of which has a concealed indicator which identifies it as explaining the illustration on the first portion. The removable material is demarcated into a plurality of smaller areas so that the player removes the concealing material gradually to reveal the illustration. When the player believes he knows what the illustration is, he tries to locate the correct identifier on the second portion of the card by removing the material covering the correct indicator.
