  • Patent number: 5246239
Abstract: A manually operated hand truck provides for the level carriage of a load supported on the platform thereof by allowing the platform support bar to pivot relative to the handle and central portion of the apparatus. A spring connects the platform with the central portion of the apparatus to draw the handle to a vertical position when the platform is resting on the surface. However, the spring is of insufficient tension to raise the platform when the handle is tilted downward from the vertical, thus allowing the platform to remain on the surface. The platform may thus be slipped under a cooperating pallet supporting a load thereon, or other load, and the handle tilted back without displacing the platform and the load thereon from a level attitude. Thus, loads may be transported by pushing or pulling on the inclined handle, without displacing the load from the horizontal or spilling the load.

The cart is used to transport recycling bins containing different segregated trash such as newspapers is used to reduce the lifting of the recycling bins for people who are physically impaired. The device may be folded when not in use in a collapsed position and also may be covered aesthetically for use in the home or apartment by a decorative covering while still being used for collecting individual segregated trash items.

  • Patent number: 5181731
Abstract: A pivotable cart is disclosed which has a first and second support members for supporting a rolled material. The first and second support members are pivotable relative to each other to a storage position. In the pivoted storage position, the cart requires a minimum amount of space. The cart may be easily pivotable outwardly to a use position where it will adequately support an elongate rolled material. The support members are preferably identical, and connected to a pair of spaced wheels such that the support members pivot about the wheel axis relative to each other. A chain prevents the two support members from pivoting relative to each other beyond a predetermined amount. Further, the support members each include a support surface having a generally V-shape with an apex aligned with an apex of the other support member to provide a ditch for support of the coiled material.

  • Patent number: 5154441
Abstract: A two tier, rolling and folding table has a top planar platform (1) supported at one end by a U shaped first leg assembly (7) connected to the platform by fixed pivots and supported at another end by a pair of legs (11) of a second leg assembly connected to the platform by a sliding pivot bar (12) that slides in guide slots (13) and latches in an open position. The legs of first and second leg assemblies mutually and pivotally intersect intermediate their ends. A bottom planar platform (2) with handle is supported at one end by fixed pivot connections to the U shaped leg assembly, and at another end by fixed pivot connections to the parallel members (23) of a wheeled leg assembly (20) carrying a pair of wheels. The legs (11) connected to the sliding bar (12) pass freely through slots (26) in the bottom platform and pivotally connect to the vertical members (23) of the wheeled leg assembly to lock the wheels in an open position.

  • Patent number: 5131670
Abstract: A wheeled device for enabling a scuba tank or the like to be moved overground, instead of the user having to carry it, this device having an elongate axle, adjacent each end of which a wheel is rotatably amounted. A pair of tank-engaging members are utilized in connection with the axle, such members being movable between a nested position, in which the members require minimum storage space, and a position in which the members are separated to a limited extent. One of the members has a support platform for supporting a scuba tank, and each of the members has a sidewall-engaging portion for engaging the sidewall of a scuba tank inserted between the sidewall-engaging portions, to rest upon the support platform. Thus, when the scuba tank is resting on the support platform of the one member, the sidewall-engaging portions of both members tightly grasp the sidewalls of the scuba tank, such that the wheeled device does not drop off should the user lift only the scuba tank.

  • Patent number: 5125675
Abstract: The trolley has a collapsible structure composed of rigid or semi-rigid, typically cardboard panels. The panels can be folded relative to one another between a collapsed state in which the majority of them lie in compact, coplanar relationship and an erected state in which they define an open-topped box. A wheeled axle is connected to the structure to permit the box to wheeled over the ground. Handles are provided for carrying the structure when collapsed and for steering the trolley when erected. Also, tabs are provided that lock in suitable slots to maintain the collapsed and erected condition of the panels.
