It is intended for use on motor homes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, truck campers and virtually any vehicle which utilizes one (1) or more steps for access and comprises a hitch-like receiver assembly that mounts on the side of the step assembly directly underneath the door or upper platform. The handrail slides into the receiver and is secured via a locking bolt. The handrail is adjustable to compensate for varying grades. When fully installed, the device is supported at two (2) points and forms a very stable handrail for entering and exiting the vehicle. It is quickly installed and removed with a minimum of tools and can be stored in a narrow storage compartment when not in use.

    Abstract: A wheel chock assembly is described that includes a wheel chock, a tether and an attachment device. The tether connects the wheel chock and attachment device. The wheel chock is positionable on a ground surface and against a wheel of a vehicle to block the wheel of the vehicle from rolling in a first direction. The attachment device connects to the vehicle body or chassis. When the vehicle moves in a second direction away from the wheel chock, the wheel chock is pulled beside the vehicle. The user can then stop the vehicle and remove the attachment device from the vehicle and store wheel chock assembly in a desired location in the vehicle. A method of using a wheel chock assembly includes providing a wheel chock assembly that includes a wheel chock and an attachment device connected by a tether. The wheel chock is positioned to engage the surface and wheel of the vehicle such that the wheel chock prevents the movement of the vehicle in the first direction.     Abstract: Some emergency rescue situations require rescue workers to rappel or otherwise use climbing ropes to accomplish a rescue. Safety laws and regulations require that a rescue worker tie off, or anchor, to three separate anchor points, before going over an edge or down a steep grade on a rescue. The three separate anchor points provides redundancy for safety. The current invention provides anchor points mounted directly on vehicles driven by emergency personnel, typically emergency vehicles. Some embodiments of the invention can be easily retrofitted to emergency vehicles. Other embodiments may be employed in other applications resulting in additional variations to those embodiments.

    Abstract: The system for capturing a vehicle is a device, which is mounted on the front of a first vehicle for deploying a grasping hook for grasping the rear bumper of a second vehicle. In operation, the system begins in a locked configuration, with a hook member being positioned rearward with respect to a lower shaft. When the first vehicle brings an actuating arm in contact with the rear bumper of the second vehicle, pressure on the actuating arm generates rotation in the upper shaft. This rotation of the upper shaft causes disengagement of the lower end of an engaging member from a recess formed in a disc mounted on the lower shaft, causing the resiliently biased lower shaft to rotate. Rotation of the lower shaft rotates an elongated hook support and the hook member into the deployed configuration, with the hook member grasping the rear bumper of the second vehicle.

    Abstract: An interchangeable automobile louver set that is adapted to be detachably mounted on a rear, downwardly, rearwardly inclined automobile window glass and includes a plurality of louvers independently horizontally mounted to a plurality of independent, vertically disposed stanchions. Each louver includes longitudinally spaced apart ends spanned by a pair of vertically spaced sides and a front edge which has a profile that conforms to the profile of the confronting portion of the window glass regardless of which vertically spaced side is uppermost. Each louver is attached by fasteners and each stanchion has the capability to be reversible without modification to the louvers or stanchions. For example, the first side of all of the louvers could match the color of the vehicle and the second side could be a standard color (i.e. black). The louvers are readily detachable and reversible to change the appearance of the automobile.
