  • Patent number: 6540265
Abstract: A fluid fitting is provided for connecting two members transmitting a high pressure fluid. The fitting includes an elongated tubular stem, a first connecting member, and a second connecting member. A hydraulic seal may be effected by an interference fit between the second connecting member and the stem. The first connecting member may be a flare nut. The second connecting member may be a plug fitting. The fluid fitting preferably provides a connection between a fuel oil valve and an oil burner nozzle. The valve may be rigidly mounted to the burner nozzle without the use of additional mounting hardware and within a small space adjacent to the burner.

  • Patent number: 6517119
Abstract: A retainer ring connector comprised of a ring situated between matching spokes on both the male and female members of a hose coupling. The ring is contained behind the outwardly extending spokes on the male member. When the male member is inserted into the female member, spokes on the inside of the female member pass between the spokes of the male member and are forced over the ring element which compresses sufficiently to allow the spokes to pass. After the spokes of the female member pass over the compressed ring member, the ring member expands and prevents the male and female members from disengaging and backing away from each other. The spoked retainer ring connector allows for complete rotational movement with preventing the male and female members from separating.

  • Patent number: 6508492
Abstract: A swiveling hose coupling comprising first and second nipples and a cylindrical shell. The cylindrical shell includes a swivel shell, and first and second retaining rings. The swivel shell is set between the first and second retaining rings. The first and second nipples are in proximity with one another within the cylindrical shell, but are separated by antifriction bearings. The first and second nipple rotate independent of one another to prevent inhibition of liquid flow in a hose coupled to the swiveling hose coupling. The first and second nipples are set in the cylindrical shell, using journal bearing grooves on the first and second nipple, in which the journal bearing grooves abut the first and second retaining rings. Reference points for the application of a hose coupling clamp are provided by an indexing ring on each of the nipples.

  • Patent number: 6494502
Abstract: A connector for joining two tubular members together includes inner and out concentric rings that are joined together in a manner that permits the outer ring to turn relative to the inner ring. The inner side of the inner ring has two seats to engage the ends of the tubular members that are to be joined together. The outer side of the inner ring and the inner side of the outer ring have camming members that when engaged cause the outer ring to exert compressive forces on the inner ring that in turn causes the inner ring to firmly grip the tubular members. The inner ring preferably has a gasket-like material in each of the seats that firmly engages the ends of the tubular members. When the camming members are disengaged, the ends of the tubular members may be inserted into or removed from the connector so as to separate the parts from one another.

  • Patent number: 5743873
Abstract: A portal assembly includes a port with at least one resealable septum, and a tube extending from the port with the tube being sized to be received inside a catheter, an angled surface surrounding the tube wherein the angled surface diverges away from the tube in a direction away from the port, and sleeve structure for forcing the end of the catheter into the angled surface, thereby forcing the end of the catheter radially inwardly toward the tube and forming a thickened portion adjacent the end of the catheter to seal and hold the catheter. In a dual port construction, the outlet tube are parallel to one another at their distal ends, and the sleeve structure forces the end of the catheter into the angled surface, thereby forcing the end of the catheter radially inwardly toward the tubes and forming a thickened portion adjacent the end of the catheter to seal and hold the catheter and to prevent cross-talk between lumens of a dual lumen catheter.
