Abstract: The invention provides a fluid coupling for coupling a fluid source with a fluid supply line. The fluid coupling comprises a gladhand mounted to a body via a swivel connection. The gladhand is movable between a stored and protected position, wherein an outlet of the gladhand rests against a rubber cup to prevent fluid flow therefrom, and a use position, wherein the gladhand is removed from the rubber cup and can be connected to a fluid supply line. Additionally, the fluid coupling comprises a valve assembly preferably disposed in the body. The valve is operable between open and closed positions to effectively turn the fluid coupling on and off.
Abstract: There is described a security device 10 and a method for verifying the identity of a person making a transaction. The security device 10 comprises a document 12 bearing a picture of the intended user 14 of the security device 10, the picture 14 having been produced by printing of picture 14 by a printer activated by computer memory in which a likeness of the intended user is stored. The devices 10 may be self adhesive for attachment to a second document and be provided in a form comprising a plurality of such devices.
Abstract: A coupling for a fire hydrant-fire hose connection includes a first coupling member attached to the fire hydrant and a second coupling member attached to the fire hose wherein both the first and second coupling use a Storz connector. A butterfly valve is mounted within the first coupling to prevent access to the interior of the hydrant and a readily removable cover is placed over the first coupling member to shield the member when the hydrant is not in use.

Abstract: This is concerned with a front air swingaway which is a device for connecting the air supply between a tractor-trailer combination where the air source is on the tractor. The swingaway is constructed to be mounted on the front of the trailer and projects forwardly when in use but is automatically folded back against the front of the trailer when not in use, meaning when it is not connected to a gladhand.
Abstract: A hose coupling for connecting lengths of fire hose is formed by coupling halves. Each coupling half includes a hose connection piece and a cam ring rotatable relative to the hose connection piece. The cam rings provide a bayonet-type locking engagement. The hose connection piece has two serially arranged axially extending sections each of different diameters. The larger diameter section receives and holds a length of the fire hose. A neck on the cam ring is rotatably attached to the smaller diameter section. The neck on the cam ring is held on the smaller diameter section against movement in the axial direction. A resilient back-springing holding ring is located adjacent the free end of a smaller diameter section in a recess in the section. The holding ring in combination with the free end of the smaller diameter section forms an annular space in which a sealing ring for the coupling is secured.
