Patent number: 8387249Abstract: Apparatus and method for facilitating servicing of a liquid-cooled electronics rack are provided. The apparatus includes a coolant tank, a coolant pump in fluid communication with the coolant tank, multiple parallel-connected coolant supply lines coupling the coolant pump to a coolant supply port of the apparatus, and a coolant return port and a coolant return line coupled between the coolant return port and the coolant tank. Each coolant supply line includes a coolant control valve for selectively controlling flow of coolant therethrough pumped by the coolant pump from the coolant tank. At least one coolant supply line includes at least one filter, and one coolant supply line is a bypass line with no filter. When operational, the apparatus facilitates filling of coolant into a cooling system of a liquid-cooled electronics rack by allowing for selective filtering of coolant inserted into the cooling system.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2007Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Levi A. Publication number: 20130014390Abstract: Devices and methods for retrofitting a natural gas liquids plant are contemplated to extend recovery of C3+ hydrocarbons from various feed gases to recovery of C2+ and C3+ hydrocarbons. In especially preferred aspects, dedicated C2+ exchangers are integrated to exclusively cool the feed gas to produce a cooled absorber feed and to produce two separate absorber reflux streams. During C2+ recovery, absorber reflux is provided by a portion of the residue gas and a portion of the feed gas, while during C3+ recovery absorber and distillation column reflux are provided by the distillation column overhead product.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2012Publication date: January 17, 2013Applicant: FLUOR TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventor: John MAK

Publication number: 20120276488Abstract: A gas-fired water heater includes a pilot assembly that provides a pilot flame deflector. The pilot flame deflector causes the pilot flame to surround a hot junctions end of a thermopile. The flame deflector does not cover a cold junctions end of the thermopile, such that the cold junctions are ventilated. A temperature differential between the hot and cold junctions is increase by ventilating the cold junctions and surrounding the hot junctions with the pilot flame. The temperature differential is further increased by radiant and convective heat applied to the hot junctions as a result of the flame deflector.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2012Publication date: November 1, 2012Inventors: Tibor M.
