Abstract: Safety devices prevent packaged catalytic converters from being expelled from stacks, or at least reduce the velocity with which such a package may be expelled, in case of an explosion in a bio-fueled appliance, such as a wood-burning stove.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a duct member having a plurality of adjustable sections which are rotatable relative to one another. The apparatus and method causes relative rotation between individual sections during the manufacturing process, to form a completed duct member in an automated process utilizing a rotating head assembly comprising a plurality of engagement members extendable radially outward of the rotating head body in an engagement position and retractable radially inward to a disengagement position. Accordingly, a 90 degree adjustable elbow can be produced in its 90 degree elbow configuration without requiring the machine operator to manually adjust the adjustable sections.
Abstract: In a method of making an exhaust gas collector, a collector housing is made from a tubular blank, and subsequently, an inlet duct is formed through a widening process to provide a substantially rectangular cross section with rounded narrow sides. The inlet duct is provided with a head flange. At the outlet side, the collector housing is necked by a press-forming process so as to shape an outlet duct having a substantially circular cross section which is reduced in size compared to the cross section of the collector housing. Attached to the outlet duct is an end flange.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a pipe connector for a gas isolated switchgear has the steps of preparing a material block, a first forging process, a second forging process to form the material block to an I-shaped member, defining a passage through the I-shaped member, stretching the I-shaped member, a first heat treatment process (T4 process), straightening the I-shaped member to a desired length and a second heat treatment process (T6 process). With such a method, the processes for manufacturing the pipe connector are simple, and the cost for manufacturing the pipe connector is low.
