  • Patent number: 7793463
Abstract: A shutter assembly includes left and right shutter doors hingedly mounted between upper and lower horizontal frame members secured over an opening to be shuttered. Vertical stiles serve as the left and right frame members of each of the shutter doors. The vertical stile on the unhinged side of one of the shutter doors includes a vertical flange that engages and secures the vertical stile on the unhinged side of the other shutter door when both doors are closed and locked. The two vertical stiles framing each door retain left and right pivot strips to which a plurality of louvers are mounted for rotation. A louver tilt rod mechanism is attached to and hidden from view behind one of the vertical styles of each of the doors and operates to mechanically link the louvers for movement in concert. A wire rope is positioned longitudinally within each of the louvers to prevent a breach of the shutter assembly through attempted bending of the louvers.

  • Patent number: 7726681
Abstract: A receiver hitch arrangement includes a receiver tube, a mount having a shank portion received within the receiver tube and a hitch pin inserted through hitch pin apertures which are formed in both the receiver tube and the shank portion and which are aligned at assembly to maintain the mount in a position for towing. A rattling that is usually caused due to movement between hitch components. is prevented by forming a pair of through and threaded apertures in each vertical wall of the receiver tube and in close proximity to a free end thereof, threadeably engaging a threaded shank of a fastener with each of the pair of apertures and then operably advancing each fastener for direct contact with the shank portion of the mount inserted into the receiver tube until the shank portion is frictionally caged and immobilized.

Abstract: An operation rod 70 includes a first rod 71 and a second rod 72. A one-end portion 71a of the first rod 71 is connected to a lock closer 60 so as to be rotationally movable. The second rod 72 is supported so as to be slidingly movable relative to a hand lever 8. A connecting portion 73 connects an opposite-end portion 71b of the first rod 71 and a one-end portion 72a of the second rod 72 to each other. The connecting portion 73 includes: a long hole 80 which is formed in the opposite-end portion 71b of the first rod 71; and a pin 81 which is formed on the one-end portion 72a of the second rod 72 and which engages with the long hole 80 so as to be slidingly movable therein. While the hand lever 8 is moving rotationally, the connecting portion 73 allows the opposite-end portion 71b of the first rod 71 to move rotationally and slidingly relative to the one-end portion 72a of the second rod 72.

The locking action utilizes a cam and follower arrangement and is provided by a detent in a lock position of the cam contour. The detent retains the cam follower in the lock position and prevents the cam follower from becoming unintentionally released, preventing the tooling attachment from becoming loose or disconnected from the boom.

Abstract: A sash frame is locked to a stationary jamb by movable locking elements connected to an operating rod and cooperating with stationary locking elements. Both types of locking elements have at least one recess, one projection and at least one lateral support extension alongside the respective recess or projection. The recesses and projections are so constructed and arranged that they have a respective central axis extending in parallel to a frame plane defined by the jamb and sash frame in the closed state. The lateral support extensions have surfaces facing each other and extending substantially perpendicularly to the frame plate. The operating rod carrying the movable locking elements may be guided in a groove in the sash frame or in the jamb, whereby the stationary locking elements are connected to the jamb or to the sash frame respectively.

  • Patent number: 4750503
Abstract: A latch for a warewasher effects manual movement of a bolt between a retracted position which permits the door to be fully closed and an extended position which either latchingly engages a keeper to secure the door in the closed position, or abuttingly engages the keeper to prevent the door from being inadvertently fully closed. In addition to manual operation, the latch is operated by gravity to extend the bolt from its retracted to its extended position as the door of the warewasher is moved from a horizontal opened position to a vertical position. In this way, the bolt of the latch is extended to abut the keeper of a warewasher if the door is simply moved from the horizontal opened position to the vertical position, but may be easily and quickly closed by manual operation of the latch to retract the bolt followed by complete closure of the door, and then extension of the bolt to secure the door in the fully-closed position.

Abstract: A mobile crane comprises a multi-section telescopic main boom and a boom extension pivotally connected to the point end of the main boom. The boom extension can be manually swung horizontally between an in-use position extending axially from the point end of the main boom and a stored position parallel to and alongside the main boom. Front and rear boom extension storage mechanisms releasably secure the boom extension in stored position. The front mechanism comprises two vertically spaced-apart storage pins which are slidable in tubular pin guides mounted on one lateral side of the main boom. The storage pins are slidably movable fore and aft by a swingable lever to which they are pivotally connected. The storage pins move into and out of engagement with a pair of vertically spaced-apart aligned pin-engaging holes in a member attached to a confronting side of the boom extension when the latter is in stored position.

Abstract: The invention comprises the essential operating mechanism for a vertical latching assembly for a closure. It provides adjustment screws, accessibly disposed, externally of the closure (door), for adjusting the effective lengths of the elongate, latch bolt-actuating elements. A centercase, which is mounted externally of the door, has attachment blocks slidably coupled thereto. The blocks carry limbs, of the top and bottom bolt-actuating elements, or rod connectors, and the adjustment screws are threadedly engaged with the limbs for moving them, selectively and adjustably, axially of the centercase.

Abstract: A door lock comprises a bolt and a mechanism for moving the bolt between a protruding locking position and a withdrawn unlocking position. The bolt is provided, in its protruding part, with at least one auxiliary locking element, such as a ball, a pin or the like, movable in a transverse duct in the bolt between a first position, in which it partly extends outside the sides of the bolt, and a second retracted position. In the bolt, there is also an operating member moving in the longitudinal direction of the bolt. This member is arranged to move each auxiliary locking element into its first position, when the bolt reaches its protruding position. Preferably, the bolt is provided with two auxiliary locking elements moving symmetrically with regard to a longitudinal plane of the bolt.

Abstract: An actuator assembly in which the actuator is usually the rotatable barrel of a key operated tumbler lock. The actuator assembly is connectable through a non-circular drive spindle to any conventional deadbolt assembly of the kind having a tubular housing securable to support, a lever rotatably mounted on the housing and a deadbolt slidably mounted within the housing and responsive to rotation of the lever. A body member of the actuator assembly is securable to the support separate from the deadbolt housing and the lock barrel is rotatable relative to that body member. A gear segment secured to the barrel for rotation therewith is engageable with another gear segment rotatably carried on the body member, but only during part of its possible 360.degree. movement from the rest or locked position of the barrel. The other or driven gear segment has a drive spindle secured to it and that spindle engages within a bore of the bolt assembly lever to transmit rotation of the driven gear segment of the lever.

Abstract: A flush bolt is disclosed which is adapted for flush mounting on a door. The flush bolt is composed of a latch sled and faceplate. Both the latch sled and faceplate may be constructed by stamping sheet metal. The latch sled is slidably mounted on the faceplate by way of integral longitudinal channels which engage tracks which are an integral part of the faceplate. Both tracks and channels are formed during the stamping process. An actuator arm slidably operates the latch sled between engaged and disengaged positions. A biasing spring is provided for biasing the actuator arm to either the engaged or disengaged position. A forked tongue having a slot for guiding the biasing spring extends upwardly from the latch sled and is also formed during the stamping process. The slot which is formed during the stamping of the forked tongue is notched to provide securing of the housing spring.
