Patent number: 11555330Abstract: A privacy lock assembly and method of operation are provided. The lock assembly has a push button offset from the central axis of the lock assembly for locking and unlocking the assembly. The lock assembly includes compression springs to maintain integrated handles in predetermined orientations when the handles are not subject to a load.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2017Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Assignee: Spectrum Brands, Inc.Inventors: Gerald Chong, Lynthia Li, Thomas P. Patent number: 9290964Abstract: A lock assembly includes an exterior operator assembly, an interior operator assembly, and a latch assembly. An outer spindle is operatively coupled to a latch assembly, is drivably coupled to the interior operator assembly, and has a longitudinal bore. A coupling mechanism is coupled to the outer spindle. A locking spindle assembly is rotatably received in the longitudinal bore, and is configured to selectively operate the coupling mechanism to couple the exterior operator assembly to the outer spindle upon actuation of a drive assembly. The locking spindle assembly has a fire compliant component made of a first material that melts during a fire to prevent operation of the latch assembly with the exterior operator assembly, and has a fire resistant component made of a second material and configured to block the longitudinal bore of the outer spindle to aid in preventing the spread of the fire through the door.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2013Date of Patent: March 22, 2016Assignee: Stanley Security Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Bradley Trent, Chad A. Patent number: 9260893Abstract: The invention relates to a window lock having a trigger and a bolt, the trigger being rotatable about an axis of rotation and the bolt being movable between a locked position, a first unlocked position and a second unlocked position. The bolt also includes a clip that engages first and second stops. The trigger rotates about the axis for engaging and disengaging the clip with the first and second stops. The first and second stops and the clip are all located on the same side of the axis of the trigger.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2011Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: Interlock USA, Inc.Inventor: Mathew D. Patent number: 6926315Abstract: The present invention relates to a latch bolt mechanism for a hinged door, and in particular, to a latch bolt mechanism actuated by push pull spindles. The latch bolt mechanism includes a bolt with an inclined surface, a housing, at least one push pull spindle with an inclined surface. The bolt is slideably mounted within the housing for movement between an extended position (extended outward from the housing) and a retracted position (positioned within the housing). The spindle slideably extends through an opening in the housing and bolt, transversely aligned with respect to the line of travel of the bolt. As the spindle is pushed towards or pulled away from the housing, the inclined surface of the spindle engages the inclined surface of the bolt to actuate movement of the bolt between the extended and retracted positions.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2003Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: Hardware Specialties, Inc.Inventor: Michael W. Patent number: 6916053Abstract: A structure for a latch lock that opens or closes a door without deadlocking it essentially comprised of a front body and a rear body each provided with a round plate locked into to each other with the latch bolt inside a recess of a door panel being placed in a space defined by both locked bodies; a rotation rod with a flange being each adapted to the front and the rear bodies having one end of the rotation rod inserted into a bolting hole in the latch bolt and the other end inserted with a reducing spring and a positioning ring for the rotation rod to be respectively inserted into the front and the rear bodies to allow spacing adjustment as desired to compromise door panel thickness.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2003Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Assignee: Globe Union Industrial Corp.Inventor: Shih-Hung Lin

Patent number: 6334635Abstract: A latch bolt mechanism of a tubular lock allows adjustment in backset by using an extension casing. The latch bolt mechanism has a latch bolt housing having a latch bolt mounted therein, the latch bolt being movable beyond a face plate or retracted into the face plate. Two plates are connected together and mounted to an inner end of the latch bolt. The plates includes aligned two first positioning holes, aligned second positioning hole, and aligned openings. An actuating plate is mounted between the plates and includes an end operably connected to the latch bolt. The other end of the actuating plate includes two teeth each having a block formed thereon. The blocks are pressed against by a follower plate that also includes two teeth. When either tooth of the actuating plate or the follower plate is pressed against by a spindle of the lockset, the latch bolt is retracted. An extension casing is mounted around the plates and movable toward or away from the latch bolt housing.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2000Date of Patent: January 1, 2002Assignee: Taiwan Fu Hsing Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventor: Chao Ming Huang
