Abstract: A vehicle door handle assembly, comprising: a door handle having opposite first and second ends, the first end including a handle leg connectable to a bellcrank; a door handle end-cap; a slide-lock cassette supporting the bellcrank; and a frame mounting the door handle and the door handle end-cap. The frame is securable to a vehicle door and defines an opening receiving the slide-lock cassette therein. The opening is dimensioned to permit sliding movement of the slide-lock cassette therein. The slide-lock cassette is slidingly moveable relative to the frame between a first position, in which the handle leg is not connected to the bellcrank and the door handle end cap is not secured in place relative to the frame, and a second position, in which the handle leg is connected to the bellcrank and the door handle end-cap is captured by the slide-lock cassette against removal from the frame.

  • Patent number: 9637949
Abstract: A door handle arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a handle support, a handle, a coupling device, a locking device and a retaining element. When an accelerating force is applied in a first direction, as a result of a motor vehicle accident, the retaining element moves from a basic position in which it is possible to actuate the handle into a direction of blockage in which an actuation of the locking system by the handle and/or the coupling device is blocked. The locking device reliably and securely blocks the handle or the coupling device in the event of a collision. This is achieved in that the retaining element is designed to move from the basic position into the particular direction of blockage when an accelerating force resulting from a motor vehicle accident is applied in a second direction that is opposite of the first direction.

  • Patent number: 9624698
Abstract: A flush mounted, vehicle door handle includes a housing having an outer wall defining an interior recess and a handle pivotally coupled to the housing. A first portion of the handle is configured for pressing on a first side of a fulcrum and a second portion of the handle is configured for pulling on a second side of the fulcrum. The handle is disposed within the interior recess of the housing when positioned in a first, resting position. The first portion of the door handle has a back surface provided for actuating a door latch mechanism of an existing vehicle door when the housing is mounted to a door panel of a vehicle. Thus, when the handle is pivoted about the fulcrum to a second position, the door latch mechanism is actuated causing the door latch mechanism to release the automobile door allowing the door to open.

  • Patent number: 9567777
Abstract: An inertial blocking member subassembly includes an inertial blocking member associated with a release handle assembly framework, the blocking member having a center of gravity which is offset from an axis of rotation, and the blocking member being rotationally and/or translationally movable between an at-rest position, in which the blocking member does not prevent actuation of the release handle, and an engaged position, in which the blocking member prevents actuation of the release handle. An accelerator body, freely mounted relative to the inertial blocking member for rotational movement about the axis of rotation, has a center of gravity which is offset from both the axis of rotation and center of gravity of the inertial blocking member. As a result of a negative acceleration force acting on the accelerator body center of gravity, the accelerator body rotates about the axis of rotation and carries the blocking member toward the engaged position thereof.
