Patent number: 9161548Abstract: An animal underbelly bone splitter preferably includes a base member, a bottom leg, a top leg and a handle portion. The bottom leg extends from one end of the base member at a bottom thereof. The top leg extends from the one end of the base member at a top thereof, such that a bone slot is created between the bottom leg and the top leg. A curved connecting surface preferably connects the bottom leg with the top leg. A cutting edge is formed on a top edge of the bottom leg. The handle portion extends from an opposing end of the base member at an acute angle from the top edge of the top leg. A resilient grip is formed on the handle portion. A second embodiment of the animal underbelly bone splitter includes a bone pocket tab, which extends downward from an end of the top leg.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2015Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Inventor: Ronald A. Patent number: 7168171Abstract: A drum deheader is adapted for use with a cylindrical drum having a sidewall, a cover at opposite ends of the sidewall and an annular chime joining each cover to the sidewall. A receiver is adapted to be positioned against the sidewall and is engaged with the chime. A slide plate assembly is adapted for vertical sliding movement within the receiver and carries a cutting blade adapted to engage the cover. An elongated handle is pivotally mounted to the receiver for operably moving the cutting blade upwardly and downwardly into and out of cutting engagement with the cover. The invention is improved by a follower and slot arrangement formed in the handle, the receiver and the slide plate for enabling the upward and downward movement of the cutting blade as the operating handle is pivotally moved.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2005Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Hydro-Thermal Corp.Inventor: Gary Zaiser

Patent number: 5163227Abstract: The invention is directed to an exchangeable frame for the shaving head of a dry shaving apparatus, comprising two longitudinal frame members in parallel arrangement and end walls connecting the longitudinal frame members at their respective ends, as well as at least one shaving foil which is carried on inwardly protruding projections provided on the two longitudinal frame members by means of suspension openings and is shaped to an arched twin head shaving foil cutter by means of another longitudinal frame member extending parallel to the two longitudinal frame members and connecting the end walls. A stepped shoulder formed on the projections provides at least one abutment surface and a pin, and the abutment surface is at a predetermined relative distance to the inner wall of the shaving foil slidably resting against the longitudinal frame members. The suspension openings are greater in vertical and horizontal direction than the contours of the projections.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1991Date of Patent: November 17, 1992Assignee: Braun AktiengesellschaftInventors: Jurgen Wolf, Wolfgang Franke

Patent number: 4979297Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary shaving head (2) for an electric shaving apparatus, the shaving head comprising a rotary cutter (23) which is driven by an electric motor (3) and which comprises a cutter disc (54) whose periphery is provided with an annular configuration of cutter blades (52) which are offset from the plane of the disc and whose cutting edges (59) co-operate along a cutting plane with a shear plate (24) formed with hair entry apertures (57). The rotary cutting (23) and the shear plate (24) are constructed for rotation of the rotary cutter (23) in both directions of rotation and the rotary cutter (23) is adapted to be driven by a single-phase synchronous motor (3, 3') having a permanent-magnet rotor (9, 65).Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1988Date of Patent: December 25, 1990Assignee: U.S. Philips Corp.Inventors: Leo Bertram, Hugo Schemmann

Patent number: 4698908Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprises a housing having a top surface, and a holder together with a retaining element provided with three triangularly arranged cutting units. Provision is made for engaging the retaining element with the holder with the cutting units therebetween to form a unitary body detachable from the top surface of the housing. Three stepped recesses are arranged 120.degree. apart in the peripheral wall of the retaining element, each recess having two steps. Three stops are arranged 120.degree. apart on the top surface of the housing. The holder body can be mounted on the housing in three positions, the stops on the housing engaging one of the two steps in the retaining element recesses in each of two of such positions and engaging the peripheral wall of the retaining element in the remaining position, the axial distance between the retaining element and the holder thereby being varied.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1986Date of Patent: October 13, 1987Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Wijtse Bergsma, Hans Labrijn, Olivier Sterk

Patent number: 4169313Abstract: The drum deheader or cutter is for use in opening an end of a drum provided with a drum chime and comprises a base engageable with the outside surface of the drum, with the base having at one end an upstanding lug engageable with the top of the drum chime and having at the other end a shoulder engageable with the underside of the drum chime. A head is pivotally mounted on the base and is provided with an integral handle which extends in a direction away from said base and the drum. A blade is secured to the head for cutting the end of the drum adjacent the drum chime. An elongated operating lever is pivotally mounted on one end to the base and is connected to the head by a suitable linkage. A person may grip the handle with one hand and apply a force to the lever with the other hand thereby causing the head to pivot and the blade to be lowered into cutting engagement with the end of the drum.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1978Date of Patent: October 2, 1979Assignee: Equipment Company of AmericaInventor: Elmer T.
