Patent number: 10766163Abstract: A blade attachment, configured to be coupled to a power tool, enables two parallel cuts to be made simultaneously. The blade attachment includes an intermediate portion, configured to be coupled to the power tool, and two blade portions, configured to be coupled to opposite sides of the intermediate portion. The two blade portions are formed to mirror one another and are arranged to be opposite and parallel to one another on the blade attachment. Each of the blade portions includes an interface leg, which is coupled to the intermediate portion, and a blade leg, which extends downwardly from the interface leg at an angle. Each blade leg includes a plurality of teeth configured to make a cut.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2014Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignees: Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Brad Padget

Patent number: 9533427Abstract: A sample cutter includes a base plate for supporting a corrugated sample to be cut, and a pair of guide rails connected to the base plate. The pair of guide rails enable the corrugated sample to be positioned for cutting. The sample cutter also includes a slide rail connected to the base plate, and a cutting assembly connected to the slide rail. The cutting assembly is capable of moving along a length of the slide rail. The cutting assembly includes a pair of cutting blades that are capable of being spaced apart at a plurality of widths with respect to each other, and cutting the corrugated sample based on the plurality of widths.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2013Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Assignee: TMI Holdco, Inc.Inventors: Dale Lee Heintzelman, Jr., John Louis Sullivan

Patent number: 8814872Abstract: A saw blade provided with two walls set apart from each other and with blade teeth arranged on each wall in a pattern along the distal end of each wall and on the inner surface of each wall. During a single cutting motion, the distal teeth provide the initial cut and the inner teeth remove additional material along the pathway. This increases the amount of material removed in one cut, leaving a small amount of material (bone) at the bottom of the slot for the surgeon to remove in the final step. Thus, the blade configuration and the tooth pattern of the saw blade improves the cutting efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2011Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: Arthrex, Inc.Inventor: Christine A. Publication number: 20120198709Abstract: A cutting apparatus of a type having two juxtaposed blades 1 and 2 with each having an outermost cutting edge with teeth 12 and 13, with retention and driving of the blades adapted to effect an oscillatory motion to each of the cutting edges, characterized in that there are means to resist resonant spreading between the blades 1 and 2 when cutting which are that there is a first of the blades 1 having a first portion supported by the first blade with a part 15 which is positioned behind a part 18 of the other blade, and a second blade 2 includes a portion with the part 18 which is positioned behind the part of the first said blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2010Publication date: August 9, 2012Applicant: ARBORTECH INDUSTRIES LTDInventor: Kevin Ross Inkster

Patent number: 8215295Abstract: A rotatable cutting tool unit of a tool assembly for a cutting machine that is used in conjunction with an associated method of cutting provides several novel aspects. The tool arrangement, which includes two tool units, includes first and second disk-shaped tools rotatable about an axis. The tools define maximum tool arrangement boundaries along the axis. A driving arrangement, at an axial location between the first and second tools, supports the first and second tools for rotation and transfers driving force. A radially outer periphery of the driving arrangement is at a radius less than a radius of a peripheral cutting edge portion of the first tool and less than a radius of a peripheral cutting edge portion of the second tool.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2009Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Husqvarna ABInventors: Ove Donnerdal, Håkan Pinzani, Mari Albinsson

Publication number: 20100299944Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a hand-operated flush cutting machine (1) comprises a front section (3) with a first and a second disc shaped cutter blade (7, 8) which are rotary about an axis of rotation (26) and mounted in the front end of an elongated tool carrier (11) having the substantial shape of a flat bar. The tool carrier is mounted to a rear section (2) of the machine. The rear section (2) is provided with a number of components, including a motor (17) for driving the cutter blades via a power transmission as well as handles (13, 16) and a control (25) for operating the machine. The first, right hand side cutter blade (7) has a first side, which does not face the second cutter blade. Said first side defines a first plane (21) which does not intersect any component in said front or rear sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2007Publication date: December 2, 2010Applicant: HUSQVARNA ABInventor: Tommy Hellberg

Patent number: 7200940Abstract: A tool for burring the surface of a material. The tool has two sets of oppositely facing toothed blades which are made to move towards each other when the tool is pressed against a surface. Each tooth planes a shallow groove into the surface which results in hook-like burrs or planings rising from each groove. Limiters on the blade stroke ensure that the raised burr is not severed. A spring returns the blades to their start position. The resulting surface therefore has a plurality of shallow, non-piercing stopped grooves with a like plurality of hook-like burrs. Such a modified surface provides increased surface area for electrochemical activity, and a mechanical grip to materials bonded thereto. The tool uses replaceable blade packs which snap into a permanent tool housing. The tool may be operated with a simple hammer blow or it may be rapidly driven into large or small areas of a surface by a manual and/or computer directed punch press.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2004Date of Patent: April 10, 2007Inventor: Winston MacKelvie
