Expansible Patents (Class 312/205)
  • Patent number: 6709078
Abstract: An adjustable, retractable, and expandable plastic or cardboard cover frame, for example made of natural or synthetic wood grain or metallic finish, that wold fit around a computer, television, VCR, or other electronic component, so as to mask the view of unsightly appliances and provide a decorative touch to the room. The product is produced with several types of fine wood and metallic finishes, allowing the user to choose a model that compliments or matches the furniture in their enviroment. In one embodiment the adjustable frame wold come in several sizes and wold be expandable or retractable to accommodate any size computer CPU, computer monitor, matching keyboard cover, television, VCR, as well as stereo equipment. The three dimensional ability to expand in height, width, and depth would allow the various sized models to adjust to fit virtually any size electronic component, and would fold flat for ease of packaging and manufacture.

  • Patent number: 6702412
Abstract: A track assembly, adapted to be mounted in a housing, having first and second rail members aligned with one another and allowed limited relative longitudinal movement with respect to the other. The joined first and second rail members have a mounting bracket attached to distal ends of the rail members. A spring, positioned between the rail members, provides a force extending the distance between the distal ends of the rail members. A locking mechanism interacts with the rail members and has a locked position resisting inward movement of the distal ends. The method of installing the track assembly in a rack is accomplished by compressing the track assembly to reduce its overall length prior to positioning it between opposing rack members. The track assembly is released to securely engage the opposing rack members and locked in position.

Abstract: An entertainment center includes a base that expands horizontally to accommodate different width home theater displays; and, a light bridge that rests on top of one or more cabinets placed on either side of the base. The side cabinets provide a vertical column of open space for accommodating wiring among the entertainment system components and ventilation for heat generated by those components. The base includes casters to facilitate moving the base in and out from between the side cabinets. Sliding portions of the base extend horizontally yet continue to transfer all load weight onto the casters. The front woodwork of the base presents a pleasing seam less appearance as a consequence of overlapping trim pieces.

A sidewall extends from the vertical edge of the cover opposite a pivot connection and is made of a collapsible material which folds in an accordion-like fashion to allow the compartment to fully collapse when the cover is moved to a closed position and expand and provide a generally triangular shaped storage compartment when opened.

Abstract: A versatile drawer organizer structure for segregating a plurality of items. The structure includes a main compartment and two adjustable side compartments located on each side of the main compartment. Each of the side compartments can slide toward the main compartment or away from the main compartment thus decreasing and increasing the size of the side compartments and decreasing and increasing the overall width of the structure so that the structure precisely fits within the inside width of the drawer. The overall width of the structure can be adjusted without cutting of the material making up the structure and without making any permanent alterations to the structure. Thus, the structure can be easily sized to precisely fit the inside width of a large number of different drawers and many other enclosed spaces.
