  • Patent number: 4390834
Abstract: A digital control type volume control circuit is disclosed herein which includes a multivibrator, an UP key, a DOWN key, a pair of binary UP/DOWN counters, a 4-to-16 line decoder, an encoder and an attenuator. The multivibrator is connected to the UP and DOWN keys to furnish pulses to the counter via an actuated one of the UP and DOWN keys. The counter counts the number of the pulses via the UP and DOWN key, with the counter being indicative of the length of actuation of the UP or DOWN key. The encoder responsive to the count of the counter output count provides an output for the attenuator having a plurality of resistors of different resistances for determination as to the amount of attenuation.

  • Patent number: 4383204
Abstract: An interface control circuit for use with a standard three-way, four-switch-position lamp socket to allow a fluorescent lamp-electronic ballast combination to be controlled to provide a selected one of four light output levels, utilizes a three-input, full-wave bridge rectifier to provide ballast/lamp operating potential and gating elements and associated level-setting circuitry to provide at least one D.C. voltage output having an amplitude dependent upon the set position of the socket switch and utilized to control the ballast to set the light output of the associated lamp to a selected one of three different levels when the ballast/lamp combination is energized.

  • Patent number: 4354159
Abstract: A prescription attenuator comprising a plurality of cascaded L-pad sections coupled together to form an attenuator network wherein each cascaded section includes a single pole switch for activating its respective section. The network impedance values are selected so that single L-pad section activations produce actual attenuations slightly more than an ideal level of attenuation wherein multiple section activations tend to keep the error evenly distributed about the ideal level of attenuation.

  • Patent number: 4319184
Abstract: A remote control precision step attenuator for providing a desired amount of attenuation in the transmission channel of an audio signal. The attenuator includes a counter which provides a binary output count representative of the desired attenuation. An input applied to the counter can cause a stepwise increment or decrement to the output count of the counter. A control circuit responds to the binary output count in order to produce an attenuation control signal. Attenuation circuitry, coupled within the transmission channel is controlled by the attenuation control signal in order to apply the desired amount of attenuation into the channel. The attenuation circuit can be a resistance pad having sections each of which are switched into and out of the transmission channel by relays responding to the counter binary count output.
