  • Publication number: 20150102907
Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for controlling access a restricted location (114) as well as a system (100) for doing so. According to various implementations, a potential entrant to the restricted location needs to transmit two values to an access authorization device (108) located at the perimeter (112) of the restricted location in order to gain access. In one implementation, the system provides an authentication code to a first device (116) (e.g., a smartphone) via wireless communication link (120) (e.g., over a cellular network) and displays a visual image (127) with an embedded access code at a display device (104). The second device (118), which is securely paired with the first device, captures the image and sends the image data to the first device. Using the authentication code and the access code, the first device derives the two values to gain access to the restricted location.

Abstract: A universal remote control system is disclosed. The universal remote control includes a receiver that has a wireless signal receiver unit, an electric motor that drives a mechanical arm and a microprocessor. When the receiver receives a control signal from a wireless signal transmitter, the microprocessor will energize the motor which drives the mechanical arm toward a pushbutton switch of a controlled device, such as a garage door opener, and depresses the push button, therefore activating the garage door opener. A feedback signal, for example, from the mechanical arm or the motor, may be provided to the microprocessor to inform the microprocessor when the pushbutton switch is sufficiently depressed and is in an engaged state. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for pairing one or more wireless transmitters with a power head unit of a barrier opening system prior to delivering the system to the end user. In one facility, an authorization code of a wireless transmitter is received and passed to a printer that prints an encoded label with indicia corresponding to the authorization code. The so-encoded label is affixed to the wireless transmitter or its packaging or pallet. In another facility, the encoded label is thereafter scanned, and the authorization code is deciphered and stored in a database. The power head is programmed with the identical code by placing the power head into a learn mode, retrieving the deciphered authorization code from the database, and transmitting the retrieved code to the power head using a test transmitter while the power head is in the learn mode, with the power head thereafter moved out of the learn mode, thereby pairing the transmitter with the power head.

Abstract: A monitoring device in accordance with the disclosure stores a serial number list in non-volatile memory, the serial number list including data indicative of at least one valid serial number associated with one or more key fobs permitted to interact with the monitoring device. The monitoring device is configured to receive a wakeup signal via a key fob interface configured to communicate with a key fob. The monitoring device reads a serial number from a key fob via the key fob interface and searches the stored serial number list for data indicative of a valid serial number matching the serial number read via the key fob interface. The monitoring device reads action data from the key fob via the key fob interface, the action data being indicative of an action to be taken by the monitoring device. The monitoring device, in response to the read serial number matching a valid serial number of the stored serial number list, takes an action based on the action data.

Abstract: A wireless tracking and security system for a facility has particular application for an academic facility. A coordinator terminal has an integrated reader, a touchpad and a time display and a communication link for communicating with a host computer, as well an RF communication module. In one embodiment, a plurality of point-of-entry/exit terminals are connected by RF communication links and are mounted at classroom entrances within the facility. Time and attendance data entered on the terminals is compiled for transmission to the host. A panic switch may be incorporated into the terminals to provide an emergency alert and, in some embodiments, automatically lock the entrance to the classroom. Various input readers and devices can be employed at the coordinator terminal and the point-of-entry/exit terminals. The wireless tracking and security system also interfaces with terminals of a mobile carrier, such as a bus.

Abstract: A SAW filter includes at least four electrically interconnected DMS tracks. First and second tracks of the at least four DMS tracks are connected in parallel in opposite directions to form a first filter element. The first and second tracks have two resonant frequencies that are offset from one another from track to track within the first filter element such that they define a common passband by virtue of a lower-frequency resonance of the first track being in phase at the same frequency as a higher-frequency resonance of the second track. Third and fourth tracks of the at least four DMS tracks can be connected in a similar fashion to form a second filter element. The passbands of the first and second filter elements are offset from one another and each comprise one of two channels of a two-channel filter.

  • Patent number: 8823486
Abstract: An antitheft system of a charger for an electric vehicle that prevents theft of a charger during charging a battery of the electric vehicle is disclosed. More specifically, a first signal generating portion is provided at the charger, receives a decoupling will of the charger, and generates a decoupling signal. A second signal generating portion generates a position signal, so that anyone who is allowed to handle the electric vehicle possesses the second signal generating portion. A control portion generates an operating signal when both the decoupling signal of the first signal generating portion and the position signal of the second signal generating portion are received by the control portion. Once received, an actuator decouples the charger from the connector once the operating signal from the control portion is received.

Abstract: A lock device for a power supplying plug arranged in a vehicle that performs wireless communication with an electronic key. The lock device includes a charge ECU that restricts unauthorized removal of the power supplying plug from an inlet of the vehicle. The vehicle includes antennas that transmit a wireless signal. A first one of the antennas relates to permission for removal of the power supplying plug. A second one of the antennas relates to unlocking or permission for unlocking of a door. A charge ECU stops transmitting the wireless signal from the first antenna when the vehicle is parked and the second antenna transmits the wireless signal. The charge ECU stops the transmission of the wireless signal related to the unlocking of the door when the wireless signal related to removal of the power supplying plug is transmitted.
