  • Patent number: 8653938
Abstract: A method of protection of a near-field contactless communication system against malicious attacks. The method includes exchange of information between a reader and a contactless card of duration T, measured with respect to a starting instant t0 seen from the reader, decoding of this information by the card, sending by the card a return signal temporally set with respect to an instant t?0+T, where t?0 is the starting instant as seen by the card taking into account delays in propagation or processing of signals received from the reader, detection of the return signal by the reader, determination of the temporal setting of the return signal with respect to the starting instant t0, and interruption of communication by the reader if the temporal setting of the return signal detected is not equal to the instant t0+T with a predetermined margin of error. The return signal is a pseudo-random sequence.

  • Patent number: 8653939
Abstract: A coded wireless sensor unit has a slot sized to receive a key card. When a key card is inserted into the slot, the act of insertion generates a energy-harvested power pulse, which powers circuitry that reads electrical device control information coded on the key card and creates a first information packet signal that is transmitted by an on-board transmitter. The signal can be read by a receiver and relayed to a control unit which controls certain electrical devices which consume line power in response to received information packet signals. The control unit decodes received information packet signals and either turns on or activates the electrical devices in accordance with the decoded device control information. Removal of a key card can also be used to generate a power pulse, which creates a second information packet signal that is used to turn off or deactivate the electrical devices.

  • Patent number: 8646298
Abstract: A key for opening multiple axial pin locks has a base member with an indexing element and a number of lock pins, configured to match the keyways of the locks. The key has a microprocessor with access to information on the pin configuration for each lock to be opened, and the lock pins are selectively positioned along the base member to match the configuration of a key for a particular lock in response to the user entering an identification code for that lock. The lock pins can slidably engage recessed tracks in the base member, which serve to direct the lock pins parallel to an axis of the base member. A pin latching mechanism can be provided to secure the lock pins in the desired position.

Abstract: Secure door entry without a traditional card reader is made possible by tagging the door with an unpowered, unique token which can be read by a user's personal mobile electronic device. The user's device transmits both door and user identification to a remote server, where the decision is made whether to open the door. If so, the server sends an open door signal using the IP suite of protocols to a processor in a powered door lock, opening the door. Another signal may be used indicate whether access is denied or granted. Multiple personal mobile electronic devices may be configured to operate the same door, and users may control access by others.
