  • Patent number: 9697716
Abstract: A method for determining a triggering time for the issuance of an alarm by an alarm device. A measured value is sensed at a measuring time, and the measured value is indicative of a hazard potential within a monitoring range. A waiting time is identified by way of a function which respectively indicates an assigned waiting time for a plurality of different measured values and which has a continuous profile. The triggering time is determined on the basis of the measuring time and the identified waiting time. In addition, an alarm device having a detection device for sensing a measured value and having an evaluation device which is configured to carry out said method is described. In addition, a program element for determining a triggering time for the issuance of an alarm by an alarm device is described, wherein the program element can be loaded into an evaluation unit of the alarm device and can cause the abovementioned method to be carried out.

  • Patent number: 9691246
Abstract: A flame detector, may be aligned to cover a region to be monitored near a body water. The flame detector has at least one radiation sensor and a downstream evaluation unit. The at least one radiation sensor is sensitive to light in the spectrum of open fire. The evaluation unit outputs a fire alarm in the event of fluctuations or flicker frequencies characteristic of open fire being detected. A linear polarizing filter positioned upstream of the radiation sensor(s) has a polarization plane rotated about a main receiving direction to largely suppress the horizontal component of the received light, based on the knowledge that light reflected from water surfaces is predominantly horizontally polarized. If characteristic flicker frequencies and a significant degree of polarization are simultaneously detected in the received light, the detector identifies sunlight reflected off bodies of water and modulated by the swell, and a false alarm output is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 9525923
Abstract: A communications system improves performance of detecting a signal having an indication of a request to change communications states by making at least two positive identifications of the request in a given time frame. The system may further improve performance by applying a difference in power levels for a non-request state (i.e., steady state or ‘control hold’ state) versus a request state (i.e., ‘request to change’ state). In one particular application, a base station determines a request to change communications states with a reasonably high probability of detection and a reasonably low probability of false detection. The system has a reduced number of erroneous communications states, such as erroneous traffic channel allocations. The detection technique is compatible with 1xEV-DV systems and I-CDMA systems, but general enough to support systems employing various other communications protocols used in wired and wireless communications systems.

The display indicates a likelihood of collision between the aircraft and the ground object.

  • Patent number: 9165454
Abstract: In a security system, a first collecting module cyclically collects target-object information indicative of environments of a target object and a monitored area in which the target object exists. An alarm module determines whether there is an abnormal situation associated with at least one of the target object and the monitored area based on the target-object information, and sets off an alarm indicative of a result of the determination that there is an abnormal situation. A second collecting module cyclically collects circumstance information indicative of a situation of an area surrounding the monitored area. An abnormal situation determining module calculates, based on the circumstance information, a probability that an abnormal situation associated with at least one of the target object and the monitored area will occur, and determines whether the probability is equal to or higher than a threshold level.

Abstract: A method for analyzing a large number of messages, wherein the number of messages is reduced based on pattern recognition and pattern simplification, rules for the pattern recognition and pattern simplification are based on a regular grammatical structure, and patterns are sought in the remaining messages, or directly, i.e., without previous simplification. Syntactic pattern recognition is used for each type of pattern search, and a finite machine is derivable using the regular grammatical structure underlying each pattern recognition by transforming the mapping rules into transfer function, such that structural connections between the messages can be displayed graphically.

Abstract: A connector has a shell and a detection terminal. The shell is formed with a spring portion, which has a front end of a fixed end and extends rearwards. The spring portion includes a pressed portion and a contact portion. The pressed portion is pressed by a mating connector upon insertion of the mating connector into the connector along a front-rear direction. The contact portion is movable in a predetermined direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction. The shell and the detection terminal distinct and separated from the shell form a detection switch. A state of the detection switch is changed due to the movement of the contact portion in the predetermined direction when the pressed portion is pressed by the mating connector, so that the insertion of the mating connector is detected.
