Abstract: Eye-protective alarm. When a user reads, writes or keys with a computer, the photosensitive resistor of the alarm can sense the illumination of the environment and detect insufficient safe visual distance and even detect too long working time and in time emit a warning music to inform the user of these situations. The eye-protective alarm includes a circuit structure including a system processor, illumination sensor, weak current detector, time controller, alarm informing circuit, light indicator module and several switches which are serially connected. The circuit structure via wires is connected to a cell box, an AC power socket and a distance sensor. The photosensitive resistor detects whether the illumination of the environment, safe visual distance and working time meet the preset standard values. If not, the system controller triggers the light indicator module and the alarm informing circuit to play the warning music so as to remind the user to improve these situations.
Abstract: An alert device that includes a tubular encasement holding battery powered marking light, a compass and a whistle, the tubular encasement and whistle are threadedly interconnected and rotating the whistle of the device with respect to the tubular encasement serves to provide electrical communication activating the light, with the light serving to light up the face of the compass.
Abstract: An indicating instrument for a vehicle includes an analog indication of the current measured value and has a variable indication of a reference value. An automatic setting device indicates the reference value based on variable data that are significant for the indicated measured variable. The entire indicating instrument is rotated by the setting device so that the pointer is aligned horizontally when the current measured value agrees with the reference value.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for programmably driving a light-emitting diode(LED) display stores a display configuration in a register. The register contains the information identifying for which conditions in the system will status information be provided to LED drivers. When used in a system such as an Ethernet network multiport switch, for example, the status information for only those conditions and those ports identified by the display configuration stored in the configuration register will be displayed, even though status is collected for more conditions in the system.

Abstract: A central control system that affords intuitive and easy control of numerous subsystems associated with a police car or other emergency vehicle and reduces the cockpit clutter associated with present control systems. An emergency response system is described that rapidly coordinates and controls operation of a plurality of emergency subsystems associated with a predetermined scheme of operation for the devices. In one preferred embodiment, the controller receives a single input command and, in response, provides specific device control commands to several individual controlled devices on a relatively simultaneous basis.
