Aircraft Alarm Or Indicating Systems Patents (Class 340/945)
  • Patent number: 10308371
Abstract: A system and related method for managing images generated by a combined vision system (CVS) and displayed by an aircraft via an onboard PFD HDD, HUD, or HWD includes combining sensor image streams of an enhanced vision system (EVS) with navigation and terrain symbology generated by a synthetic vision system (SVS) to optimize the useful information displayed at any given point. Areas corresponding to prescribed visual references (approach lighting, runways and runway markers) that must be identified via pure EVS under certain conditions may be excluded from the SVS visual channels so that only a pure EVS channel of the excluded areas is displayed. The CVS may include edge filtering to remove unimportant terrain features and emphasize ridgelines. The CVS may display a full field of view for all selected visual channels or sensors, and optionally indicate where fields of view overlap.

Abstract: Methods, systems and processor-readable media for providing instant/real-time voice alerts automatically to remote electronic devices. An activity can be detected utilizing one or more sensors. A text message indicative of the activity can be generated and converted into a digitized voice alert. The activity can also be a live utterance (e.g., a live announcement), which can then be instantly converted into a digitized voice alert for automatic delivery in a selected series of languages following the base language (e.g., English). The combined digitized voice alert can then be instantly transmitted through a network for broadcast of consecutive alerts (e.g., English followed by Spanish followed by Vietnamese, etc.) to one or more remote electronic devices that communicate with the network for an automatic audio announcement of the digitized voice alert through the one or more remote electronic devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods directed to generating an adaptive glide slope angle and allowing a pilot to interact with the generated glide slope angle are provided. The systems and methods retrieve, from a navigation database (NDB), a designated approach procedure for the aircraft, and identify a designated glide slope angle (D_GSA) based thereon. The systems and methods receive sensed actual weather data and sensed aircraft status data and generate an adaptive glide slope angle A_GSA based thereon. The systems and methods allow modification of and modify, or prevent modification of, the designated approach procedure with the A_GSA based on the determination of whether or not the A_GSA is compatible with the designated approach procedure.

  • Patent number: 10005365
Abstract: A vehicle power source includes a first switch, a second switch, a connection point, and a failure determiner. The first switch is switched between conductive/cut-off states of a generator and a first power storage. The second switch is switched between conductive/cut-off states of the generator and a second power storage. The connection point couples a first conduction path, a second conduction path, and a third conduction path to one another, in which the first conduction path is coupled to a positive electrode terminal of the first power storage. The failure determiner executes failure determination processing that involves determining a failure in one or both of the first switch and the second switch, based on control signals of the first switch and the second switch, and a current and a potential of the first conduction path.

  • Patent number: 9973515
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for identification and response to an unauthorized transmission to a networked critical system. The invention employs a pre-defined parameter which matches trusted sources with defined destinations to enable secure access to the networked critical system. Once the method receives a transmission to the destination, it filters the transmissions based on specific architecture constraints. Should the transmission survive, the method continues with a plurality of layers of system level checks to verify the source matches the pre-defined parameter of a trusted source. Should the transmission fail any of the layers of system level checks, the method provides an appropriate response. Once the transmission survives, the method continuously monitors the data stream for possible threats and allows access the transmission to reach the destination and the networked critical system.
