Abstract: An amplified antenna includes an antenna element configured to receive over-the-air television broadcast signals and an amplification circuit for amplifying those received signals. The amplified signal is transmitted via an RF output terminal through an RF cable to a second device that is compatible with smart antenna technology as prescribed by the EIC-909 standard, Antenna Control Interface. The amplified antenna further includes an EIC-909 type jack, into which one end of a modular connector cable conforming to the EIC-909 standard is connected. The opposite end of the modular connector cable is connected to the EIC-909 interface jack of the second device. The amplified antenna can then draw electrical power from the smart antenna control module of the second device through the modular connector cable to drive the amplification circuit.

Abstract: A printed antenna comprises an ink-printed layer, a hard substrate and a radiation conductor layer. The hard substrate has a surface, and the ink-printed layer is coated on the surface to form a non-transparent area. The uncoated region of the surface is a transparent area. The radiation conductor layer is formed on the ink-printed layer and does not exceed the non-transparent area of the hard substrate. In the present invention, a conductive ink is coated on the surface of a non-metallic plate, such as a glass plate, an acrylic plate or an LCD panel, to form the radiation conductor layer. Therefore, the printed antenna of the present invention is exempt from the complicated processes of fabricating the conventional metallic radiation conductors with the application field thereof expanded.

Abstract: An electronic circuit, for which a coil 22 is disposed being overlapped with a region of a memory array 11, carries out communications by inductive coupling between stacked and mounted chips by means of the coil 22. Because each side of the coil 22 is disposed so as not to be parallel to a word line and a bit line 15, crosstalk between ‘the coil 22’ and ‘the word line 14 and bit line 15’ can minimized. This allows efficiently arranging a coil to carry out communications by inductive coupling between chips to be stacked and mounted.

Abstract: A receiving device includes: an antenna to which a communication signal containing time information is inputted; a ground allowing the antenna to function; a conductive part; a gain characteristics change unit which interrupts continuity between the ground and the conductive part to change the gain characteristics of the antenna; a receiving unit which obtains the time information from the communication signal inputted to the antenna; and a control unit which commands the gain characteristics change unit to interrupt the continuity and commands the receiving unit to obtain the time information. When the time information cannot be obtained from the communication signal inputted to the antenna having a certain type of gain characteristics, the control unit commands the gain characteristics change unit to interrupt the continuity and commands the receiving unit to obtain the time information from the communication signal inputted to the antenna whose gain characteristics have been changed.

Abstract: Reflections on the aerial system of a fill level radar result in reduced measuring quality at short range. Small echo signals at short range can thus disappear in the noise. According to one embodiment of the present invention a parabolic aerial for a fill level radar is stated, which parabolic aerial comprises a parabolic mirror, an exciter and a diffusion disc. The diffusion disc is used for laterally removing interfering electromagnetic waves that would otherwise be absorbed by the exciter. In this way the decay behaviour at short range can be reduced.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a base station antenna protection system and the method thereof. The base station antenna protection system receives a wind moving in a direction, and comprises a base station antenna, a sensor, a protective surface and a rotatory device. The sensor is coupled to the base station antenna to detect a deviation of the base station antenna on the direction of the wind. A side of the protective surface is opposite to the base station antenna. The rotatory device is coupled to the protective surface. When the deviation exceeds a predetermined value, the rotatory device rotates the protective surface to cause another side of the protective surface to be opposite to the wind.
