Abstract: Disclosed is an active matrix liquid crystal display device with transverse electric field system, which improves afterimage. One electrode of many pixel comb electrodes is thicker in width than the other pixel comb electrode and common comb electrodes and is equal to a width of the common shield electrode covering through a second insulator film on video signal wirings. The display area is divided into two sub areas by the thick pixel comb electrode. The pixel comb electrode and the common comb electrode have the same number in each sub area. As the common shield electrode and the thick pixel comb electrode have the same width, the concentration of electric field can be eased near the pixel comb electrodes. The electric potential distribution becomes symmetric by symmetric configuration, reducing asymmetric lighting mode between frames. DC offset of the video signal after flicker adjustment decreases and the afterimage improves.

  • Patent number: 8866787
Abstract: This relates to displays for which the use of dual function capacitive elements does not result in any decreases of the aperture of the display. Thus, touch sensitive displays that have aperture ratios that are no worse than similar non-touch sensing displays can be manufactured. More specifically, this relates to placing touch sensing opaque elements so as to ensure that they are substantially overlapped by display related opaque elements, thus ensuring that the addition of the touch sensing elements does not substantially reduce the aperture ratio. The touch sensing display elements can be, for example, common lines that connect various capacitive elements that are configured to operate collectively as an element of the touch sensing system.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal panel and a panel driving device. The panel driving device includes a timing control circuit, a gate driving circuit, and a source driving circuit. The source driving circuit includes a low voltage differential signal (LVDS) receiver, a driving voltage generator, and a controller. The LVDS receiver includes a plurality of receive circuits and a power saving control circuit. Each of the receive circuit performs level conversion upon a data LVDS to generate a logic signal, and operates in a selected one of a normal energy consuming mode and a power saving mode. The power saving control circuit controls the receive circuits to operate in the power saving mode when the power saving control circuit does not receive a power adjustment signal from the controller.

Abstract: An imaging device that can not only reduce noises including shading but also read out a pixel at high speed, a method for controlling the imaging device, and a camera using the imaging device are provided. In a 3-transistor-driven pixel circuit 11, the drain of a reset transistor 113 is connected to a drive signal line DRNL (n), and the drain of an amplifier transistor 114 is connected to a source voltage VDD. A row drive circuit 12a quickly decreases the voltage level applied to the drive signal line DRNL (n) from a high-level voltage VH to a lowest level voltage VLL, then increases it from the lowest level voltage VLL to a low-level voltage VL, and then gradually returns it to the high-level voltage VH.

  • Patent number: 8836670
Abstract: An image processing apparatus which is allowed to achieve a higher speed of a labeling process than ever before is provided. Sequential scanning is performed on pixels in a picked-up image represented by binarized data Din. Moreover, during the sequential scanning, while label information representing an identification number for each connected region in the picked-up image is, as occasion arises, allocated to a target pixel based on values of pixel data of the target pixel and neighboring pixels thereof, additional information (position information and area information) for each connected region corresponding to each label information is updated as occasion arises. Thereby the label information, the position information and the area information about the whole picked-up image are obtained by one sequential scanning process.
