Field Period Polarity Reversal Patents (Class 345/96)
  • Patent number: 9664917
Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel and a liquid crystal display device are disclosed. The liquid crystal display panel has first pixel units and second pixel units, when the liquid crystal display panel displays odd frames, a polarity of each of the first pixel units is changed, and a polarity of each of the second pixel units is maintained. Otherwise, when the LCD panel displays even frames, a polarity of each of the second pixel units is changed, and a polarity of each of the first pixel units is maintained. Since each frame of the liquid crystal display panel only changes the polarity of the partial pixel units, image sticking and 3D ghosting phenomena can be effectively eliminated.

Abstract: There are provided a method of driving a liquid crystal display device, a liquid crystal display device, and a portable device including the liquid crystal display device that can display an image where the occurrence of flicker is restrained when pause driving is performed. In a positive polarity pixel, a voltage of a counter electrode applied during a write period T1 is set to be higher than a counter voltage applied during a pause period T2 and is brought back to its original reference value immediately before starting the pause period T2. In this case, in the positive polarity pixel, the voltage applied to the liquid crystal layer decreases by an amount corresponding to the increase in the voltage of the counter electrode during the write period T1, compared to a negative polarity pixel, and thus, the change in luminance over time decreases.

Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device and an array substrate of the same. The multiple pixel electrodes located at a same column allow lights having a same color to pass through. Each data line passes around at least one column of the multiple pixel electrodes row by row, and when each data line passes around two adjacent rows of the multiple pixel electrodes, opening directions are opposite. Pixel electrodes located at odd rows are connected with a same data line, pixel electrodes located at even rows are connected with a same data line, and pixel electrodes located at odd rows and even rows are respectively connected with different data lines. The present invention can reduce a bias generated at an edge of the color resist in order to improve a light leakage phenomenon when displaying.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method of driving the LCD device. The LCD device includes a display panel having a plurality of pixels, a gamma voltage generating unit, and a source driver. The pixels are defined by a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines that cross each other. Abstract: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention employs a liquid crystal panel of CS control pixel division, and is configured such that two adjacent pixel rows share one retention capacitor wire, and two adjacent scanning signal lines are simultaneously selected. In a case where two pixels ((Pn+1) and (Pn+2)) which are adjacent along a scanning direction but are not simultaneously selected are to have an identical predetermined luminance in two frames, a first signal potential is written to one pixel (Pn+1) in one of the two frames and a second signal potential having a polarity identical to that of the first signal potential is written to the other pixel (Pn+2) in the other of the two frames, the first and second signal potentials are different from each other. The present invention makes it possible to suppress transverse lines of display unevenness which occur in the liquid crystal display device.
