Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include systems for incorporating a user's avatar into a real-time communication session. For example, the described systems establish a real-time communication session between two or more social networking system users. The described systems further generate a landmark map representing positioning of one of the real-time communication session participants, and transmit the landmark map with the participant's avatar to one or more recipients. On the recipient-side, the described systems render the transmitted avatar according to the landmark map. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: The technical problem of generating a video feed that represents a user who is party to a video call in a manner that invokes the sense of visual presence of the caller without communicating the live video of the user is addressed by configuring a video calling system to include an avatar call platform. The avatar call platform is configured to generate and display a video of an animated figure that represents a caller during a call, in that the face of the animated figure moves in a way that matches what the caller is saying during the call.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for videoconferencing in a three-dimensional virtual environment. In the method, a video stream captured from a camera on a first device of a first user and a specification of an emote are received. The specification is input by the first user through the first device. Then, the video stream is mapped onto a three-dimensional model of an avatar. From a perspective of a virtual camera of a second user, the three-dimensional virtual environment is rendered for display to the second user through a second device. This rendering includes the mapped three-dimensional model of the avatar, and the emote attached to the three-dimensional model of the avatar, where the emote emits sound played by the second device.

Abstract: A selection to activate a standby layout during the online meeting is received from a user device associated with a host of an online meeting. The online meeting including the host and one or more participants. The standby layout is provided for display on the user device associated with the host. The standby layout is populated with standby content based on selections from the host and one or more content streams associated with the standby content are transmitted to the host and the one or more participants. A selection is received from the host to synchronize the standby layout as a current layout for the online meeting for the one or more participants and the standby layout is broadcast to the one or more participants for display as the current layout for the online meeting in response to receiving the selection.

Abstract: One example method includes receiving, by a network test engine of a conference client application executed by a client device, a script associated with network functionality provided by a conference client application, the network test engine dynamically installable into the conference client application; accessing, by the network test engine, functionality of the conference client application; initiating, by the network test engine via the conference client application, functionality of the conference client application based on the script; monitoring, by the network test engine, one or more parameters of network communications employed by the functionality, the network communications between the conference client application and a virtual conference provider; and providing an indication of network communications status based on the monitored one or more parameters.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for generating voice notes. In one embodiment, a messaging application implemented on a first participant computing device, receives a request to send a voice message to a second participant computing device in a communication session. In response to receiving the request, the messaging application selects a voice modification effect. The messaging application receives input to begin recording the voice message. While the voice message is being recorded, the messaging application receives speech input, modifies the speech input based on the voice modification effect in real time, and continuously updates an audio file with the modified speech input. In response to receiving input to terminate recording the voice message, the messaging application provides a first option to playback the audio file and a second option to send the audio file as the voice message to the second participant computing device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing a program and method for presenting an overview of participant conversations within a virtual conferencing system. The program and method provide for a virtual space comprising plural rooms, each room of the plural rooms being configured for virtual conferencing between respective participants; provide, for an administrator of the virtual space, display of a dashboard interface, the dashboard interface comprising a room preview element for each of the plural rooms, each room preview element corresponding to a live preview for a respective room of the plural rooms; determine metrics for each of the plural rooms; and provide for display of the metrics within the dashboard interface.

Abstract: Electronic devices are often equipped with a camera for capturing video content and/or a display for displaying video content. However, amateur users often capture video content without regard to composition, framing, or camera movement, resulting in video content that can be jarring or confusing to viewers. There is a need to automate the processing and presentation of video content in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The embodiments described herein provide a method of automatically cropping video content for presentation on a display.

A video processor automatically creates mirrored views of the video feed of each of the subset of meeting participants in the breakout room whose video feed in the videoconferencing session is not currently mirrored.

Moreover, dynamic steering of individual audio transducers of an audio transducer array, and simulating audio point sources using a combination of speakers, may simulate direct communication and mutual presence of users.

Abstract: A live video stream, such as one provided by a participant of a video conference, may comprise images of private information that the participant does not wish to provide. Object images captured by a camera are detected and inventoried along with descriptors of the object image. The descriptors are compared to private image identifiers, which define image attributes and/or categories of images. If a match occurs between at least one descriptor and at least one private image identifier, the object image is considered private and a substitute image is provided in place of the object image in a processed video image. The processed video image is then provided to the video conference. Additionally, conference profiles may categorize objects considered private for a particular type of video conference (e.g., work, friends, family, etc.).
