  • Patent number: 11227458
Abstract: A depth sensing device, situated above a threshold to a room, collects asynchronous, non-personally-identifiable data regarding a count of people entering and exiting across the threshold. Phase shift of modulated infrared light reflected from a light source to an object is measured and converted into depth data indicating the depth of the pixels therein. The depth data is used to classify detected objects as human, and to track their movement bi-directionally through the threshold. A running count of humans entering or exiting the room is streamed to a remote server, which aggregates data collected from a number of depth sensing devices. The server then makes that data available at various levels of visualization corresponding to different levels of a hierarchy of nested virtual spaces, such as a multi-entrance room, or a building. Entities that access this data may see a real-time, accurate count of humans currently occupying the virtual space, as well as historical data.

Abstract: A performance capture system is provided to detect one or more active marker units in a live action scene. Active marker units emanate at least one wavelength of light that is captured by the performance capture system and used to detect the active markers in the scene. The system detects the presence of the light as a light patch in a capture frames and determines if the light patch represents light from an active marker unit. In some implementations, various active markers in a scene may emanate different wavelengths of light. For example, wavelengths of light from multi-emitting active marker units may be changed due to various conditions in the scene.

Abstract: Texting while walking is a behavior oftenly seen with the advent of extensive mobile networks and the popularity of smart phones. It is also related to the recent general expectation of immediate notification and response. Despite accidents are frequent with this activity, as the users cannot see their forward paths, there has not been any effective aid to prevent such occurrences. The present invention provides new features and designs enabling the cameras in smart mobile communication devices to continuously and automatically provide views of the forward paths on the screens, while maintaining the compactness of smart phones, for users who are texting while walking to safely navigate.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for an automated system for analyzing damage and processing claims associated with an insured item, such as a vehicle. An enhanced claims processing server may analyze damage associated with the insured item using cameras and lasers for determining the extent and severity of the damage. To aid in this determination, the server may also interface with various internal and external databases storing reference images of undamaged items and cost estimate information for repairing previously analyzed damages of similar items. Further still, the server may generate a payment for compensating a claimant for repair of the insured item.

Abstract: Systems and methods for synchronizing video generated by a camera with media content generated by a media source external to the camera. A calibration procedure is performed in which a time delay is determined that includes a camera delay associated with the camera. A display device displays a sequence of images comprising a first image displayed for a first time period and a second image displayed for a second time period. The camera captures a plurality of captured images capturing display of the sequence of images and a transmitter device coupled to the camera transmits the captured images to a hub. The hub determines a target image of the captured images corresponding to display of the second image. The time delay is determined based on a difference between a time associated with the target image and a time associated with the second image.
