Abstract: A stereo video image display apparatus includes a data obtaining unit, a video image generator and an image quality degradation unit. The data obtaining unit obtains left eye video image data and right eye video image data. The video image generator generates sequential data in which a left eye video image data sequence repeating the left eye video image data and a right eye video image data sequence repeating the right eye video image data are arranged alternately to generate a control signal controlling opening and closing of shutter glasses according to the sequential data. The image quality degradation unit processes image quality degradation for object data which is frame data corresponding to one frame either before the switching between the left eye video image data and the right eye video image data and one frame after the switching, or two frames before and after the switching.

The method includes displaying periodically a first image sequence on the display in synchronicity with a first signal, and displaying periodically a second image sequence on the display in synchronicity with a second signal. The method also includes selecting by a user the first image sequence for viewing, and shuttering periodically a set of goggles for the user in synchronicity with the first signal. A method is provided for sharing a display. The method includes displaying periodically a private image sequence on the display in synchronicity with a first signal, and displaying periodically a non-private image sequence on the display. In the method, the private image sequence and the non-private image sequence combine to form a public image sequence on the display. A system is provided for sharing a display.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of rendering stereoscopic images includes providing eyewear having a pair of lenses. Each lens is transitioned between an optically-shuttered state and an optically-transmissive state. The transitioning is in response to a voltage waveform applied substantially simultaneously to at least a portion of each lens. Each lens transitions between states in opposition to the other lens.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to identify exposure to three dimensional media presentations are disclosed. An example method includes detecting a first brightness level with a first sensor and a second brightness level with a second sensor at a first time. A third brightness level is detected with the first sensor and a fourth brightness level is detected with the second sensor at a second time later than the first time. A 3D media counter is incremented when either: the first brightness is greater than the second brightness and the third brightness is less than the fourth brightness, or the first brightness is less than the second brightness and the third brightness is greater than the fourth brightness.

Abstract: A display apparatus and a method of driving the same are provided. The display apparatus includes a backlight module, a liquid crystal panel and a controller. The backlight module has a plurality of light emitting regions capable of emitting light individually. The liquid crystal panel is disposed at a side of the backlight module. The controller is electrically coupled to the backlight module and the liquid crystal panel. When the liquid crystal panel updates a left-eye image to a right-eye image row by row along a column-direction, the controller sequentially turns on and off the light emitting regions along the column-direction, such that a whole region of the liquid crystal panel lighted by light emitting region displays the left-eye image or the right-eye image.

Abstract: The invention can provide a stereoscopic image display device, which achieves advantages of both a “glasses” device and a “naked-eye” device, while having a small size. When a right-eye image is displayed, as light blocking region forms on the left side of the center line, and when a left-eye image is displayed, a light blocking region forms on the right side of the center line. When the viewer is located in the regions, the right eye views the right-eye image, and the left eye views the left-eye image. Thus, even when the viewer faces stereoscopic display device with naked eyes, the viewer can view the stereoscopic image as long as the eyes of the viewer are located in the light blocking regions. The right and left images are mixed in the region other than the light blocking regions. However, multiple viewers can view the stereoscopic image when wearing the glasses.
