Abstract: To facilitate seeing of the image on a peripheral region which may become difficult to see as the screen size increases. A stereoscopic two-dimensional image display device includes a display unit 1 including an image display plane 1a on which an image is displayed; an image transfer panel 3 arranged apart from the image display plane, for imaging light emitted from the image display plane on an imaging plane 2 in a space, thereby displaying a stereoscopic two-dimensional image; and an optical path changing member (not shown) arranged between the image display plane and the imaging plane, for changing the optical path of the light emitted from the peripheral edge having a predetermined region constituting the image display plane. The optical path of light emitted from the peripheral edge is changed by the optical path changing means so that the light can be reached the eyes of a viewer 100 who sees at a near position.
Abstract: The invention relates to a 3 D display. The 3 D display comprises suspended particle devices with a suspension of elongated particles that align at a predetermined angle with incoming light beam. The display will allow information to be separated relevant to the left and right eye. An electronically controllable set of suspended particle devices adjusts the deflection angle of the outcoming light beam.

Abstract: Provided are a spherical three-dimensional (3D) content reproduction apparatus and a method of controlling the same. The 3D content reproduction apparatus includes: a spherical display device which reproduces 3D content; and a docking station which provides 3D content, or the 3D content and metadata of the 3D content received from one of a web server and a storage unit to the spherical display device. The docking station includes a detecting unit which detects whether the spherical display device is attached to or detached from the docking station, and transmits a detection result to the spherical display device.
Abstract: A display device for displaying a plurality of images in a display unit, the plurality of images including pixels including subpixels of different colors; a display unit capable of arranging the pixels in horizontal and vertical directions; an image data combining circuit capable of combining image data for the plurality of images; and an image separation member that spatially separates the plurality of images displayed on the display unit from each other, wherein the plurality of images are displayed as rows of display pixels, wherein the alternating subpixels of the images are displayed in the horizontal and vertical direction.
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating and outputting stereoscopic images. A user can select either a barrier mode and an interlaced mode. In the barrier mode, images are generated in the barrier scheme, whereas in the interlaced mode, images are generated in the interlaced scheme. In a case where the user selects the interlaced mode, when the images are detected with the left and right camera sensors, the images are rotated by ?90 degrees and are then detected. Subsequently, stereoscopic images are generated from rotated images according to the barrier scheme, and generated images are stored along with information on a currently set image generation mode. Next, when the user desires to output the stored stereoscopic images through an interlaced output device for providing stereoscopic images in the interlaced scheme, the stored stereoscopic images are rotated by 90 degrees, and the rotated stereoscopic images are provided to the interlaced output device.
