  • Patent number: 10013680
Abstract: A method and system automatically harmonizes access to a given software application program via different access devices. The financial institution receives information from the user via the user's access device, including information identifying the type of device being used and the application program the user wishes to access. The application program is then accessed and the information to be displayed to the user is identified. This information is automatically translated into a format which is compatible with the device, including its display, and sent to the device for display. The user, in turn, inputs information in response to the displayed information and this input information is automatically translated into a format which is compatible with the application program and is sent to the application program. The response generated by the application program is automatically translated to be compatible with the device and is sent to the device.

One example circuit for phase detection generally includes a mixer configured to mix a first input signal having a first frequency with a second input signal having a second frequency to produce an output signal having frequency components at the sum of and the difference between the first and second frequencies; a filter connected with the mixer and configured to remove one of the frequency components at the sum of the first and second frequencies, thereby leaving a DC component; and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) (e.g., a comparator) connected with the filter and configured to determine whether the first input signal is in-phase or out-of-phase with the second input signal based on a comparison between the DC component and a reference signal.

  • Patent number: 8422392
Abstract: A system and method for optimal allocation of bandwidth in a multichannel transmission channel. In an embodiment, a system may allocate a specific amount of bandwidth in the transmission channel in order to maximize the value of the data that is transmitted on a per-channel basis. Typically, a transmission channel has enough bandwidth to accommodate the minimum bandwidth for all data across all channels. The excess bandwidth may be allocated in an optimal manner so as to provide additional bandwidth for the most valuable channels. The maximum allocation of bandwidth is a point in which allocating additional bandwidth to a channel does not yield any additional value. Such an allocation may be accomplished using an iterative analysis of the available bandwidth and a microeconomic-based analysis of the subjective value of each channel.

Abstract: A television tuner employs a triple-conversion architecture to translate VHF/UHF TV signals to various standard IF frequencies. The television tuner includes a harmonic rejection mixer, a first image rejection mixer and a second image rejection mixer. The television tuner receives a television signal. The harmonic rejection mixer up-converts the television signal into a first IF signal according to a first reference signal with a fixed frequency. The first image rejection mixer further up-converts the first IF signal into a second IF signal according to a second reference signal with a tunable frequency. The second image rejection mixer down-converts the second IF signal into a third IF signal according to a third reference signal with a tunable frequency.

  • Patent number: RE41001
Abstract: At the transmitter side, carrier waves are modulated according to an input signal for producing relevant signal points in a signal space diagram. The input signal is divided into, two, first and second, data streams. The signal points are divided into signal point groups to which data of the first data stream are assigned. Also, data of the second data stream are assigned to the signal points of each signal point group. A difference in the transmission error rate between first and second data streams is developed by shifting the signal points to other positions in the space diagram expressed at least in the polar coordinate system. At the receiver side, the first and/or second data streams can be reconstructed from a received signal. In TV broadcast service, a TV signal is divided by a transmitter into low and high frequency band components which are designated as first and second data streams respectively.
