Picture Signal Generators (epo) Patents (Class 348/E9.002)
  • Patent number: 11908104
Abstract: In order to more accurately white balance an image, weightings can be determined for pixels of an image when computing an illuminant color value of the image and/or a scene. The weightings can be based at least in part on the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the pixels. The SNR may be actual SNR or SNR estimated from brightness levels of the pixels. SNR weighting (e.g., SNR adjustment) may reduce the effect of pixels with high noise on the computed illuminant color value. For example, one or more channel values of the illuminant color value can be determined based on the weightings and color values of the pixels. One or more color gain values can be determined based on the one or more channel values of the illuminant color value and used to white balance the image.

  • Patent number: 11812204
Abstract: An artifact upon imaging degrades sensing accuracy of a projection image. An information processing device that develops a captured image thus performs interpolation processing using interpolation direction information according to a test pattern projected by a projection device. In other words, the interpolation processing of pixel information in an interpolation direction according to the obtained interpolation direction information is performed with respect to an image signal obtained by capturing the projection image of the test pattern. This can suppress the artifact and improve the sensing accuracy.

  • Patent number: 11717160
Abstract: The present application relates to a method of acquiring a side image for analyzing the degree of ocular proptosis. According to an embodiment, an image acquisition method is provided which is including: acquiring a front image of the subject's face while guidance is given to satisfy a first photographing condition; generating panorama guidance on the basis of position information of a first point and a second point extracted from the front image; providing guidance on movement of a photographing device to acquire a preview image corresponding to the panorama guidance; and acquiring a side image of the subject's face while guidance is given to satisfy a second photographing condition. The first captured image shows iris areas of the subject, and the second captured image shows an outer canthus and a cornea of one of the subject's eyes.

  • Patent number: 11651495
Abstract: A method and a system for image correction are provided. The system includes an image processor that performs the method for image correction when receiving an input image. In the method, an overexposed area within the image is determined. The channel values of pixels in the overexposed area are applied with corresponding weights. An automatic white balance process is performed on the channel values of pixels in the overexposed area according to an expectation of low saturation in the overexposed area. Besides a first channel value of each of the pixels, a second channel value and a third channel value of the pixel can be estimated according to the channel values of periphery pixels. A correction value overexposed of the first channel value of the current pixel can be calculated according to the corresponding weights of the pixels in the overexposed area.

  • Patent number: 11553165
Abstract: Disclosed are improved methods, systems and devices for color night vision that reduce the number of intensifiers and/or decrease noise. In some embodiments, color night vision is provided in system in which multiple spectral bands are maintained, filtered separately, and then recombined in a unique three-lens-filtering setup. An illustrative four-camera night vision system is unique in that its first three cameras separately filter different bands using a subtractive Cyan, Magenta and Yellow (CMY) color filtering-process, while its fourth camera is used to sense either additional IR illuminators or a luminance channel to increase brightness. In some embodiments, the color night vision is implemented to distinguish details of an image in low light. The unique application of the three-lens subtractive CMY filtering allows for better photon scavenging and preservation of important color information.

  • Patent number: 11552706
Abstract: Optical communication systems and their method of operation are disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more images of one or more optical transmitters may be collected with an imaging device during relative motion between the imaging device and the one or more optical transmitters. The one or more optical transmitters may transmit bit stream segments as a pattern of sequential modulation cycles. The relative motion between the imaging device and the one or more optical transmitters may be sufficiently fast and an image integration time of the imaging device may be sufficiently long such that one or more bit stream segments transmitted by the one or more optical transmitters may be captured as one or more data traces in the images for subsequent decoding.

  • Patent number: 11387272
Abstract: The present technology relates to a semiconductor device and an electronic apparatus that are capable of improving the characteristics of a semiconductor device or an electronic apparatus that includes a pixel having a metallic filter and a pixel not having the metallic filter. A semiconductor device includes: a pixel unit in which a first pixel including a metallic filter and a second pixel not including the metallic filter are disposed adjacent to each other; and a reflected light reduction unit that reduces reflected light on a sidewall of the metallic filter at a boundary portion between the first pixel and the second pixel. The present technology can be applied to an image sensor that includes a narrowband pixel including a plasmon filter and a normal pixel including a color filter, for example.
