Abstract: In lamp unit 10 having light source lamp 1, reflector 2 for reflecting light from light source lamp 1, reflector holding member 11, and reflector cover 15, a plurality of cooling holes 18a are formed in a region of reflector holding member 11 provided with lamp unit positioner 16a. Cooling holes 18a are open toward an upper bulb area, a lower bulb area, and a cathode of the light source lamp, respectively. Stud 22a for fixing reflector holding member 11 has a throughhole extending at the center thereof, so that cooling air fed from high static pressure blower 27 can be sent to cooling holes 18 through tube 28 and the throughhole of stud 22a, thus efficiently cooling the upper bulb area, lower bulb area, and cathode of light source lamp 1 in a concentrative manner with a small amount of air. The system control circuit is provided with a table storing portion. In the table storing portion, a control table is stored. The control table defines a voltage value to be added to a fan power supply set by a barometric-pressure value and an air-volume value. The voltage value to be added is voltage added to a normally set voltage value, and is set within a range from 0 (zero) V (volt) to 6 V, for example. The normally set voltage value is voltage set based on temperature detected by a temperature sensor, for example. In this case, the voltage value to be added is applied to voltage that is determined by the outside temperature and applied to the fan power supply.

In the table storing portion, a table for a positioned-on-a-floor mode and a hung-from-a-ceiling mode, a table for upwardly-positioned, and a table for downwardly-positioned are stored. On each table, temperature of outside air and voltage supplied to each fan power supply are corresponded. In receipt of information indicating a positioned-on-a-floor state (angle=zero degrees) from an attitude detection sensor, the system control circuit selects the table for a positioned-on-a-floor mode and a hung-from-a-ceiling mode. In addition, the system control circuit obtains measured temperature data from a temperature sensor, and applies this measured temperature data to the selection table as a read-out address. As a result, voltage values regarding each fan power supply are read out from the selection table. The system control circuit instructs each fan power supply to drive the fans based on the read-out voltage values.

Abstract: A projector comprises a case, an illuminant heat source, a thermal module, and an equalizing temperature module. The equalizing temperature module is disposed between the illuminant heat source and the thermal module. When the fluid flows from the illuminant heat source to the equalizing temperature module, the fluid flows through a relative high temperature region more than that of flowing through a relative low temperature region. The equalizing temperature module at least comprises a heat pipe and a plurality of heat sinks. The heat pipe has a first end located in the relative low temperature region and a second end located in the relative high temperature region. The heat pipe transfers heat from the relative high temperature region to the relative low temperature region by a cold fluid in the heat pipe. The plurality of heat sinks are disposed on the heat pipe to increase the area of heat conduction.

The main body comprises a controlling unit, a heat-dissipating unit, a projection lens for projecting an image and at least a vent. The sensing module is disposed in the main body. The sensing module and the heat-dissipating unit respectively are electrically connected to the controlling unit. The hot air inside the main body exchanges with the cool air outside the main body through the vent. When the sensing module detects an external object approaching the vent, such as entering a predetermined range around the vent, the sensing module sends a signal to the controlling unit for activating an anti-overheating mechanism; for example, actuating the heat-dispersing unit or/and displaying a warning image on a screen.
