Abstract: An invented image processing apparatus includes an image data storing unit for storing image data in a prescribed file format, an image data information producing unit for producing, in response to a request from a user, image data information corresponding to the image data stored in the image data storing unit, a requested format entering unit for entering a requested format of the image data designated by the user from the image data information, and a transmitting unit for transmitting the image data corresponding to the requested format. A user can obtain the image data stored in the prescribed file format with user's desired file format.

Abstract: A transmission-side MFP receives a user name, checks whether the user name is registered in a destination user list, and if so, transmits image data to a reception-side MFP. If an ACK is received, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission was successful. When a NACK is received or a time out occurs, the transmission-side MFP checks whether the user name is registered in an individual address book, and if so, transmits the image data using a corresponding transmission method. If an ACK is received, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission was successful. If a timeout occurs, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission failed.

The SIP server determines whether or not to permit a second terminal to be set as a redirect destination of the connection request when it is requested by the user to set the second terminal as the redirect destination, and sets the second terminal as the redirect destination according to the determination. Then, the SIP server transmits address information of the second terminal to the external apparatus when it receives the connection request in a state where the second terminal is set as the redirect destination.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus for receiving a printing instruction of image data and forming an image according to the printing instruction includes a wireless communication device, an input unit, and a connector storage portion. The wireless communication device is disposed at a body of the image forming apparatus and has a cable and an output connector. The input unit has a wireless connection port to connect the output connector via the cable and a wired connection port to connect a wired cable from an external device. The input unit receives a printing instruction from any one of the wireless connection port and the wired connection port. The connector storage portion stores the output connector removed from the wireless connection port when the wireless communication device is not used. The connector storage portion, the wireless connection port, and the wired connection port are concentrated in one location.

Abstract: A data transmission device and a method thereof. A fax driving unit converts a document into a fax data recognizable by a first multifunction machine, and creates a fax event including a fax information event which instructs to transmit the converted fax data to a second office machine and a fax number of the second office machine. A printer spooler spools the converted fax data and outputs the spooled fax data and the fax information event. A communication port transmits the spooled fax data and the fax information event to the first multifunction machine. The first multifunction machine transmits the fax data to the second multifunction machine based on the transmitted fax information event. Accordingly, data communication errors are prevented which occur between a host personal computer and a multifunction machine while transmitting the fax data.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for sending and receiving facsimile transmissions in a voice-over-IP system. In certain embodiments, a facsimile machine may include a network interface and a call set up protocol client configured to interface with a call set up protocol server. The call set up protocol client may communicate with the call set up protocol server using the network interface to establish a communication channel with the public switched telephone network. The call set up protocol client may operate according to the session initiation protocol. The facsimile machine may be configured to send and receive facsimile transmissions according to the T.30 protocol. In alternative embodiments, the facsimile machine may be configured to send and receive facsimile transmissions according to the T.38 protocol.

Abstract: A secure printing method includes providing a user terminal with a user interface. The user terminal and interface enable a user to select a secure printing mode for printing a document. In the secure printing mode, a secure print job stored in the user terminal is released through execution of a secure release procedure. In this way, the document can be printed at a selected one of a plurality of designated printers. When a user selects the secure printing mode, page description language data for the secure print job is generated in a format, or multiple formats, compatible with the designated printers. The page description language data is stored at the user terminal and a request is communicated to each of the designated printers. The request identifies the secure print job, but the job itself is not transmitted with the request. When the predefined secure release procedure is executed, the secure print job is released to a selected printer.

Abstract: In the case of transmitting an image data, a controller causes a re-destination storage to store an identification number of a destination. Thereafter, when a user presses a re-destination key long, a display controlling section causes a display device to display a confirmation screen to let the user confirm whether or not to delete the identification number stored as a re-destination. If the user depresses an OK key, a re-destination deleting section deletes the identification number stored in the re-destination storage.

Abstract: An exemplary method herein operates to help diagnose and correct facsimile transmission errors. The method detects a first facsimile transmission error using an arbitrarily named “first” facsimile machine (which can be a sending facsimile machine or a receiving facsimile machine). The facsimile transmission error occurs during a first facsimile transmission sent from the sending facsimile machine to the receiving facsimile machine. Upon detecting the first facsimile transmission error, the sending facsimile machine automatically contacts a service center computer. The service center computer automatically connects the sending facsimile machine to the receiving facsimile machine through the service center computer. Then, the sending facsimile machine sends a test facsimile transmission to the receiving facsimile machine through the service center computer.

Abstract: A portable scanner includes a housing including a hollow upper housing and a hollow lower housing of which two ends are connected together to define a transmitting passage therebetween, a switching device rotatably mounted inside the upper housing, a first scanning device mounted on the switching device, and a document feeder for transmitting the document automatically through the transmitting passage. A first and a second scanning window are opened in and penetrating through two different sides of the upper housing respectively, wherein the second scanning window is communicated with the transmitting passage. The kiosk further includes a message-recording device for recording a user video message. The video message and user message data are uploaded to a database. The database reconnects with the user through the user information to allow the user to access the video message. In an embodiment, the database sends an email web link to the user. The user may view the video message by opening the email web link and viewing the video message on an internet website.

Abstract: A method implemented in a fax machine for analyzing a received fax to determine whether it is an auto-reply fax. Auto-reply faxes are handled differently from other faxes to avoid unnecessary printing. The analysis method includes: determining whether the sender of the received fax is the same as the receiver of a fax sent by the fax machine within a predefined time period in the past; determining whether the received fax contains only one or two pages; extracting text from the image of the received fax using OCR; and detecting the presents of certain keywords in the extracted text which indicate an auto-reply or received status. These determination and detection results are combined to determine whether the received fax is an auto-reply. Auto-reply faxes may be saved but not automatically printed, or forwarded to an email box of the sender of the original fax, etc.

Accordingly, the facsimile device can reliably prevent a false detection of a noise that has a similar signal component to a CNG signal as a CNG signal. It is possible to prevent the facsimile machine from being automatically shifted to a facsimile receiving mode by the false detection of the noise.
