Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit and a controller. The reading unit reads a first image on a first surface of a sheet and a second image on a second surface of the sheet and generates first and second image data, respectively. The controller determines, based on the first and second image data, whether the first image is at a first edge of the first surface and the second image is at a second edge of the second surface of the sheet. The controller combines the first and second image data into combined image data corresponding to the first and second images if both the first image is at the first edge and the second image is at the second edge. The controller processes the combined image data such that a combined image corresponding to the combined image data has a predetermined size.

Abstract: Provided is a novel aliasing elimination technique capable of suppressing noise amplification in an aliasing elimination calculation in parallel imaging and the like. The technique utilizes the fact that a phase of an image (a true image that is one of a plurality of images) to be separated from a main captured image obtained with the plurality of images superimposed is basically the same as a phase of an image obtained at a low resolution, to obtain a phase difference between a phase of a low-resolution image and a phase of the main captured image, and separates the true image by calculation using the phase difference and a pixel value of the main captured image. At this time, the low-resolution image is obtained by each of a plurality of receiving coils, and the true image is calculated after multiplying a plurality of low-resolution images by a complex number that minimizes the noise amplification.

  • Patent number: 10672139
Abstract: A method for measuring a liquid volume and/or corresponding fill rate of floating roof tanks includes selecting an Area Of Interest (AOI) to be monitored at the earth's surface, gathering geographical coordinates of tanks in the AOI, and downloading and pre-processing a time series of SAR reference images covering the AOI. The method includes projecting geographical coordinates of the tanks on the time series of the images to determine pixel coordinates of the tanks, and determining tank dimensions through processing of the images at the pixel coordinates. The method includes downloading and pre-processing at least one new SAR image over the AOI and registering it on top of the reference images, and, for each tank of the AOI, detecting in the new SAR image a bright spot corresponding to the roof of the tank and converting its pixel coordinates into liquid volume and/or fill rate information.

  • Patent number: 10579007
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a controller configured to execute: a task that measures a plurality of first color patterns; a task that, on the basis of a first output value corresponding to a measurement result of the first color patterns, determines a threshold value; a measurement task that measures a plurality of second color patterns; and a task that detects an amount of color misregistration on the basis of a result of a comparator comparing a second output value corresponding to a measurement result of the second color patterns with a threshold value corresponding to each of the second color patterns. In the measurement task, the controller controls whether or not to set the threshold value to the threshold value corresponding to each of the second color patterns on the basis of the first output value.

Abstract: Examples to process print media (105) are defined herein. At least one marked cell from a plurality of cells (305) extending throughout a processed image of the print media (105) is detected. The processed image of the print media (105) may include marked portions (110) and unmarked portions (115). Further, the marked cell overlays a marked portion of the processed image. Once the marked cell is detected, the marked portions (110) of the print media (105) corresponding to the marked portions (110) of the processed image may be determined and separated from the print media (105) to provide a processed media (130) comprising the unmarked portions (115).

  • Patent number: 10475155
Abstract: A method interactively displays panoramic images of a scene. The method includes measuring 3D coordinates with a 3D measuring instrument at a first position and a second position. The 3D coordinates are registering into a common frame of reference. Within the scene, a trajectory includes a plurality of trajectory points. Along the trajectory, 2D images are generated from the commonly registered 3D coordinates. A trajectory display mode sequentially displays a collection of 2D images at the trajectory points. A rotational display mode allows a user to select a desired view direction at a given trajectory point. The user selects the trajectory display mode or the rotational display mode and sees the result shown on the display device.

  • Patent number: 10440299
Abstract: An image signal processor may include a pixel defect correction component that tracks defect history for frames captured by an image sensor and applies the history when identifying and correcting defective pixels in a frame. The component maintains a defect pixel location table that includes a defect confidence value for pixels of the image sensor. The component identifies defective pixels in a frame, for example by comparing each pixel's value to the values of its neighbor pixels. If a pixel is detected as defective, its defect confidence value may be incremented. Otherwise, the value may be decremented. If a pixel's defect confidence value is over a defect confidence threshold, the pixel is considered defective and thus may be corrected. If a pixel's defect confidence value is under the threshold, the pixel is considered not defective and thus may not be corrected even if the pixel was detected as defective.
