Fixed Lifter Patents (Class 360/255.6)
  • Patent number: 7751150
Abstract: A ramp for a polyoxymethylene hard resin disk drive, which has an outgas level of not more than 20 ?g/g. The ramp for a polyoxymethylene resin hard disk drive comprises the steps of providing an extruder, melt kneading a polyoxymethylene resin with a colorant while degassing through one or more vents under a reduced pressure of ?0.06 Mpa or less to prepare polyoxymethylene resin pellets, and injection molding the polyoxymethylene resin pellets, washing the molding with a solvent, and drying the molding.

  • Patent number: 7487582
Abstract: In certain example embodiments, a shipping comb for assembling a disk drive is provided. The shipping comb has a comb block which includes a locking portion having a comb pin hole formed therein, at least one spacer, and a connecting beam to connect the locking portion and the at least one spacer. A comb pin is received in the comb pin hole of the locking portion. The comb pin includes at least two engaging portions. A controlling system has a comb latch selectively engagable with the at least two engaging portions so as to control the comb pin to move in the comb pin hole. In certain example embodiments, a method for assembling a disk drive using the shipping comb is provided.

  • Patent number: 6762912
Abstract: A disk drive has a rigid head cleaner with a textured surface. The texture lines are primarily orthogonal to the direction of movement of the read/write heads as they move across the head cleaner. The head cleaner may be coated with a diamond-like carbon protective coating or a lubricant. A soft head cleaning element may be placed next to the rigid head cleaner.

  • Patent number: 6477015
Abstract: A movable member 35 is moved back or forth by a motor 33. A carriage opening/closing member 41 which vertically guides a pair of projections 40 opposingly formed on opposed faces is disposed between upper and lower carriages 36 and 37 which are elastically supported on the movable member 35 and vertically opposed to each other. Reading/writing heads 19 which are opposingly disposed on the opposed faces of the upper and lower carriages 36 and 37 are separated from magnetic data recording surfaces 7 of a magnetic data recording medium 6. When the carriage opening/closing member is moved in a direction opposite to the above, the upper and lower reading/writing heads 19 are contacted with the magnetic data recording surfaces 7 by a predetermined load pressure.

  • Publication number: 20020051325
Abstract: A magnetic head assembly has a first magnetic head and a second magnetic head, which approach or move away from a front and a rear surface, respectively, of a magnetic disk in order to record onto or read from the magnetic disk, and a carriage and holder supporting the first and second magnetic heads, respectively. The holder has a mating protrusion, which is pushed upward by a pressure plate of a magnetic disk from a loaded position in which the disk is inserted to an unloaded position in which the disk is not inserted, and is supported at a position swung in relation to the carriage. The holder has a swinging restriction part, which restricts the swinging within an aperture of the pressure plate about the mating protrusion as a pivot point.
