Abstract: Provided is a backlight assembly which includes integral power supply sockets and ground sockets, in which the number of parts is reduced in addition to the manufacturing cost. The backlight assembly includes a lamp including a lamp tube and an electrode that protrudes beyond either end of the lamp tube, a power supply socket including a first plate that has a first guide groove through which the electrode is inserted and a plate spring that is disposed on one side of the first plate and fixes the electrode in the first guide groove by pressurizing the electrode, and a bottom chassis containing the lamp and the power supply socket therein, in which the first plate and the plate spring are formed of a conductive material.

Abstract: A lamp socket includes a socket housing and a power supply member. The socket housing has a connecting hole. The power supply member includes a first lamp and a second lamp connecting terminal. The first lamp connecting terminal is inserted into the connecting hole, and includes a securing member for preventing a lamp from secession from the lamp socket. The second lamp connecting terminal is inserted into the connecting hole, and includes securing member opening inserted by the securing member. Therefore, the number of elements may be decreased and the stability of lamp socket may be increased.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for motion sensor installation includes an apparatus for installing a lighting accessory to a first luminaire having a luminaire housing. The bracket includes a coupling member operative to couple the bracket to one of the luminaire housings. A support member extends from the coupling member, and is operative to support the lighting accessory a first distance from the luminaire housing. An attachment member that is operative to attach the lighting accessory to the lighting accessory extends from the support member. The bracket couples the lighting accessory to the luminaire housing without extending the length of the luminaire or creating a substantial gap between two luminaires in a linear configuration. In one aspect, the lighting accessory can be a motion sensor that is operative to control the power to one or more of the luminaires.
Abstract: The invention comprises a completely recessed wall-wash lighting fixture capable of being installed within a ceiling. The lighting fixture comprises a housing, which contains a lamp. The invention may comprise a lighting fixture further comprises a reflector disposed within the housing and adjacent to the first end of the housing. The invention may also comprise a flared lamp shield attached to the housing, which is capable of protecting the lighting fixture from damage. The lamp shield extends below the ceiling when the lighting fixture is installed.
Abstract: The disclosed bridge seal includes a substantially rigid bridge component and flexible gutter seal arranged to span the openings between adjacent housing modules of a modular warning light assembly such as a lightbar. The bridge seal physically connects the adjacent ends of base and dome components to each other and defines a fluid flow channel to guide water away from the area between housing modules. The disclosed bridge seal integrates discrete housing modules into a connected weather resistant enclosure having a longitudinal path for control and power distribution conductors extending the length of the lightbar.
Abstract: A multipurpose lighting device comprises a module including a first light source for a flashlight function and a second light source for a lantern or omni-directional glow stick function. A button on the module is operative to selectively alternating between the first and second light sources. An elongate housing is coupled to the second light source so that the second light source illuminates along the length of the housing. Finally, a whistle portion is formed on one end of the elongate housing so that the multipurpose device includes flashlight, glow stick, and whistle functions.
Abstract: A discharge tube 17 of the present invention includes a glass tube 30, a ferrule 40 attached to an end of the glass tube 30, and lead wires 32a and 32b provided at an end of the glass tube 30. The lead wires 32a and 32b are bent and inserted in the ferrule 40 such that they are in contact with the ferrule 40. They can receive external power supply via the ferrule 40. The lead wires 32a and 32b that are non-light-emitting portions of the discharge tube 17 are bent and thus the apparent lengths of the lead wires 32a and 32b can be reduced. The light emitting area of the discharge tube 17 with respect to the whole length is increased.
Abstract: A safety sleeve apparatus comprises a safety sleeve encapsulating a fluorescent tube for protecting the fluorescent tube from physical damage and for preventing the tube from sliding out of the sleeve and breaking if the sleeve is tilted from the horizontal during installation of the tube into a pair of lamp sockets. The sleeve protects the tube from damage if the sleeve is struck by a hard object, and creates an airspace around the tube to protect the tube from cold and prevent the escape of fragments from a broken tube. The sleeve has a greater inside diameter than the outside diameter of the tube. An end cap is mounted on each end of the sleeve, and the end cap includes a cylindrical ring extending upright from the edges of a flat end wall. Projections are included in the cylindrical ring and the projections attach to the slots in the ends of the sleeve.
Abstract: A low-profile strip illumination device comprises a substrate supporting an elongate heat conductor and positively and negatively energized elongate rails. A plurality of spaced apart light emitting diodes (LEDs) are mounted so as to be powered by the elongate rails. The LEDs are arranged generally adjacent the elongate heat conductor so that a heat flow path is defined from each LED to the elongate heat conductor and to the environment.

Abstract: A compact luminaire which includes a housing, a ballast, and a first and second electrical component. The housing has a back and a perimeter wall which extends generally perpendicularly from the back. The perimeter wall has a top wall portion, a bottom wall portion disposed in a downward direction with respect to the top wall portion and sidewall portions connecting the top wall portion and the bottom wall portion. Abstract: An LED lamp comprises a lamp enclosure and an LED assembly. The lamp enclosure defines a receiving hole therein, and the LED assembly is received in the lamp enclosure. The lamp enclosure is made of a light penetrable material. A plurality of fluorescent powders are doped integrally and distributed uniformly in the lamp enclosure. Abstract: The invention teaches a new method to provide lighting for photography and other purposes. A consistent, stable, high intensity line-light source is created by using a cylindrical lens and a line-light source using feedback control. The positioning of the line-light source is adjustable to produce parallel, convergence, and divergence beams depending on the desired lighting characteristics. Abstract: A light and sound system for a bowling pin deck includes a controller interposed between a music system and a light assembly connected to a forward end of a pin setter assembly and positioned forwardly and above a bowling pin deck. The light assembly includes a rearwardly and downwardly projecting light arrangement of colored and infrared LEDs mounted upon a light plate. Positioned above the light plate is a standard fluorescent bulb for uniform traditional illumination of the pin deck. The LEDs are configured and positioned for full illumination of the pin deck in various colors including red, green and blue, which are illuminated by a controller either independently of or in conjunction with the music system. During all periods, the infrared LEDs are illuminated to operate in conjunction with the automatic scorer.
Abstract: A structure for attaching a fluorescent tube includes a base, a holder supported by the base, and a pair of contacts. The holder holds an intermediate portion of the fluorescent tube while restraining the fluorescent tube from moving in a radial direction. To the pair of contacts, terminals of a pair of end portions of the fluorescent tube are respectively attachable in an attaching direction corresponding to the radial direction of the fluorescent tube. Each contact includes a pair of elastic pieces facing each other. The pair of elastic pieces have a pair of straight portions extending substantially straight along the attaching direction and facing each other. On the pair of straight portions, a pair of contact portions for clamping the corresponding terminal of the fluorescent tube therebetween are formed.

Abstract: Discharge tubes, each of which includes a glass tube and a ferrule that has a substantially cylindrical shape and is fitted to each end portion of the glass tube, are supported by a plurality of pairs of relay connectors (or supporting members) provided on the front side of a chassis having substantially a plate-shaped configuration.
