  • Patent number: 9366423
Abstract: Disclosed is an LED illumination device of a simple configuration, capable of suppressing thermal resistance to a low level, and of effectively dissipating heat generated from LED elements. Rigidity of a mounting plate is ensured by a wall of a certain height, and thereby the mounting plate now becomes possible to endure saturation vapor pressure of a coolant liquid possibly exerted thereon, and vacuum state or near-vacuum state when the coolant liquid is injected, without being deformed. Since the rigidity of the mounting plate is ensured by the wall, a wall composing a bottom face of recesses may now be thinned, and this is advantageous in view of allowing the heat generated from the LED elements to effectively conduct to the coolant liquid, and of effectively cooling the LED elements.

  • Patent number: 9155165
Abstract: Control of lighting fixtures in a lighting network may be distributed among the lighting fixtures. The lighting fixtures may be broken into groups that are associated with different lighting zones. At least some of the lighting fixtures will have or be associated with one or more sensors. Within the overall lighting network or the various lighting zones, the lighting fixtures may share sensor data from the sensors. Each lighting fixture processes sensor data provided by its own sensor, a remote standalone sensor, or lighting fixture, and processes the sensor data according to the lighting fixture's internal logic to control operation of the lighting fixture. The lighting fixtures may also receive control input from other lighting fixtures, control nodes, light switches, and commissioning tools. The control input is processed along with the sensor data according to the internal logic to enhance control of the lighting fixture.

  • Patent number: 9121580
Abstract: A closure for a lighting fixture includes a cover having interior and exterior surfaces that defines at least a part of an enclosure of the lighting fixture. In certain aspects, the cover comprises mounts for mounting circuitry to the interior surface of the cover and at least one attachment feature for affixing the cover to a cabinet of the lighting fixture. A light source and driver circuitry are also affixed to the cover. Because the driver circuitry and the light source are both mounted to the same cover of the lighting fixture, the light source may be replaced with an alternate light source having different voltage and current specifications, for example, by replacement of the cover with another cover. In this manner, light sources having different operating characteristics and specifications may be replaced or interchanged with relative ease.
