The spotlight adapted to be held by a person's hand or attached to a hook or tripod for directing a beam of light from the spotlight to a specific location. The spotlight having a battery by-pass circuit that enables the spotlight to operate independent of whether or not batteries are installed in the spotlight. This feature enhances the convenience and reduces the weight of the spotlight so that it may be operated without batteries.

Abstract: A lighting assembly is detachably mounted in an opening in the wheel well panel of an vehicle. The lighting assembly has a base member with flexible sidewalls and end walls. The base member defines an opening near the first end wall forming a finger pull. A lamp holder is mounted on the base member near the second end wall. A clear lens covers a lamp in the lamp. An extensible power cable is attached to the lamp holder. The lighting assembly detaches from the wheel well to illuminate the wheel when changing a tire.

Abstract: An emergency flashlight includes a handle portion and a rotary portion mounted on the handle portion for rotation about a rotary axis. An elongate swing shaft has one end mounted to the rotary portion to rotate therewith, the other end extending substantially radially away from the rotary portion. A light-producing means is mounted on the swing shaft adjacent the end remote from the rotary portion. Inside the handle portion are located generating means and gear means, allowing electrical energy to be created by swinging the handle in a circular motion, thereby causing the swing shaft and the rotary portion to rotate with respect to the handle portion. Conductive means such as wires are provided to carry the electrical energy to the bulb.

Abstract: A transportable lamp 1 comprises at least one lighting device, which is received in a holding device 2 and acted upon by voltage via a feed cable. The lighting device has an at least partly transparent lamp screen. So that the lamp screen 3 can be continuously and safely opened, a holding device is designed in the form of a bar and at least partly enclosed by the lamp screen. The lamp screen is held by movable tensioning means which, during use, are moved away from the lighting device, abutting the curvature of the lamp screen. Continuous and safe opening of the lamp screen is achieved under difficult working conditions, because the lamp is extremely robust and insensitive to damage.

Abstract: A lamp includes a bowl-like base having a bottom and wall extending up from said bottom. A storage battery is mounted on the bottom of the base and two retaining plates extend up from opposite ends of the bottom of the base within the wall. The retaining plate includes a free end having a button mounted thereon. The button partially extends through the wall of the base. A hook is attached to the button and has a free end over the wall of the base. A printed circuit board is mounted on one of the retaining plates and is connected to the storage battery. A reflector is mounted on the base. A socket is mounted at the center of the reflector, and a bulb is received in the socket. The reflector and the bulb are connected to the storage battery. The open end of the globe having an edge corresponding to the wall of the base and abutting an edge of the wall to form a chamber. The side of the globe is translucent, and the top is transparent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bracket for a halogen light, which is made from a strip plate body by folding. The bracket includes a pair of positioning plates, a first pair of folded plates form a larger spacing, a second pair of folded plates folded inwardly from the first pair of folded plates, a third pair of folded plates folded inwardly into several angles from the second pair of folded plates, with a fourth folded plate connected between ends of third pair of folded plates. A plurality of holes and slots are provided on the folded plates to enable mounting the bracket to an article in a variety of positions.

Abstract: A novelty flashlight with a clear body. The front half is cone shaped and houses a light bulb, 2 AA batteries and a switch, and is covered with an attractive soft material. The rear half houses a liquid (e.g. water) and ornamental elements. An opaque cap is provided which, when placed over the front end of the flashlight, blocks light from escaping other than toward the rear end of the flashlight to illuminate the liquid and ornamental elements, acting as a nightlight for kids. The front end is surrounded by a reflective/opaque coating under the soft material. The bulb support, which is usually a reflective parabolically shaped piece in a typical flashlight, is transparent to allow light to pass backward into the rear end of the flashlight. Light is also conducted through the clear flashlight housing.

Equatorial caps provide connections for light source support and for tethering of the balloon. The light source may include an array of LED's and may be connected to a dimmer to provide a variety of light intensities and wavelengths. A shroud supported from a top cap may be used to further define the illumination effect. The dimmer may function as an anchor for flexible positioning of the light or it may be hung from the balloon to conserve lay-down space. A plurality of balloon lighting devices may be controlled from a single console having DMX control capability.

Abstract: An automatic swimming pool cleaner is equipped with an electrically-powered light source that is securely mounted on, or above the exterior of the housing of the pool cleaner so that the light source illuminates a generally spherical space above and 360° around the pool cleaner. The light source is contained in a transparent hollow receptacle fabricated from an impact-resistant, rigid, light transmitting material. In a pool cleaner with a detachable handle, the handle's horizonal gripping member is constructed from a transparent annular tube in which the light source is axially mounted, the ends of the tube being provided with a waterproof seal where they are joined to the handle brackets. The light source can be one or more lamps or bulbs, preferably of a tubular configuration, such as an array of fluorescent tubes of the folded type that have a socket at one end, the free end being held by a resilient supporting member.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fiber optic light positioned to illuminate the exterior door wall in the area of the door handle. The fiber optic line is preferably carried in the door handle and positioned to produce a flood of light reflecting off of the door wall and in particularly off of the bezel behind the door handle. The fiber optic line may also be positioned in the door wall or bezel to produce light reflecting off the door wall or bezel. The door wall or bezel may include a lip or eyebrow structure over hanging the end of the fiber optic line so that the end of the fiber optic line (and the direct light source) is not visible to a person standing next to the door in an upright position.

Abstract: A portable light includes first and second d.c. lamps. A first housing portion has longitudinal access and encloses the first lamp while projecting a first light beam in a direction of longitudinal access. The first housing portion has a exterior surface contour and includes a compartment containing an electrical device connectable to a d.c. power supply connectable in circuit with the first lamp. A second housing portion is the shape of a hand grip and extends from first side of the first housing portion in a direction transversed to the longitudinal access to the first housing portion. The second housing portion encloses the second lamp which is connectable in circuit with the electrical device for projecting a second light beam in the direction forming at an angle with the longitudinal access of the first housing portion.

Abstract: A new switch attachment for selectively activating an illuminated sight pin of a bow sighting device. The inventive device includes an outer casing comprising resilient compressible material. The outer casing is designed for attachment to the hand grip of a bow. A pair of spaced apart strips are provided in the interior of the outer casing. A pair of resiliently compressible spacers are provided in the interior of the outer casing between the strips. Electrically connected to each of the strips is a flexible wire which are designed for electrically connecting to an illuminated sight pin device.

Abstract: A lantern includes a housing, a fuel inlet, and a flame guard surrounding the region in which the fuel is burned. A shield is hingedly connected to the housing to allow movement between a closed position in which the shield protects the flame guard and blocks access to the fuel inlet, and an open position. The shield may be made of two parts, and a crenulated bail may be used to hang the lantern.

Abstract: A light switch extender (10) comprising an elongate actuator (12). An assembly (14) is for vertically mounting the elongate actuator (12) in a sliding manner to a switch plate (16) of a light switch (18) located in a junction box (20) in a wall (22). The elongate actuator (12) engages a lever (24) of the light switch (18) and extends downwardly therefrom. A small child (26) who normally cannot reach the lever (24) of the light switch (18) can now operate the lever (24) of the light switch (18) between an on and off position, by sliding the elongate actuator (12) up and down.

Abstract: A compact hand-held high intensity ultraviolet inspection lamp having a straight handle aligned with beam direction includes a high-intensity light bulb enclosed within a bulb housing, a light-emitting aperture at the end of the bulb housing away from the handle, and an ultraviolet light filter in alignment with the aperture to absorb substantially all light emitted from the bulb at frequencies outside of the ultraviolet spectrum and to transmit the unabsorbed ultraviolet light. Three embodiments of such lamp are disclosed herein.

Abstract: A fluorescent work light having a cover with restraining elements for restricting the movement of the fluorescent lamp. The restraining elements are inwardly projecting integral portions of the cover and restrict the lateral, rotational and axial movement of the fluorescent lamp. The work light also includes a rotatable socket with permits the cover to be threadingly engaged to the handle while rotationally engaging the fluorescent lamp. The distal end of the cover may consist entirely of transparent material to thereby permit light to be emitted from the distal end of the cover in all outward directions.

Abstract: A frame (10) supports a plurality of illumination modules (12) arranged in a common plane in a spoke-like pattern extending radially outward from a central axis. Each module includes a lamp (24) with a vertical filament (26) mounted in a faceted reflector (22) to direct a beam of light to a planar, dichroic mirror (30). The mirror (30) reflects the visible spectrum portion of the beam of light downward toward the central axis with all of the beams of light intersecting the central axis in a common plane to create an illumination zone of selected diameter. A disk (32) which is light transmissive at least in portions (34) forms a bottom cover for a cover (14). A handle (40) is rotatably mounted to the frame and connected by a mechanical linkage (50) with the reflectors for tipping the angle of the emitted light beams to adjust the diameter of the illumination zone.

Abstract: A portable lighting fixture includes a removable light-diffusing covering of predetermined light transmission character that is maintained in a substantially-spherical shape by an underlying frame. The frame consists of cage formed of a pair of spaced-apart rings that are joined to one another by a plurality of ribs. A harp for positioning a light bulb engages both the upper and lower rings of the cage whereby the height of the harp defines that of the cage of the assembled frame. The heights of the ribs are such that, as the distance between the rings of the cage is compressed through interengagement to the harp, they define the desired spherical shape for mounting the light-diffusing covering.

Abstract: Disposable sterile handle covers for surgical lamps made up of a relatively thin flexible sheet bonded to and protruding through a semi-rigid resilient skirt. The skirt allows the cover to be affixed to the handle by friction alone, thus obviating the need for adhesives. The skirt also obviates the need for a baseplate on the handle and further provides insulation from the heat generated by the lamp. The cover is manufactured with a punch die which simultaneously bonds the sheet and the skirt to each other while cutting the elements into the desired shape.

Abstract: The device of a stretchable and contractable desk lamp comprising a lamp shade and a stand, the lamp shade is pivotally connected on one end thereof to a first pivot connection on the top of the stand, the connection is for pivotal mounting of a handle for carrying the lamp, the bottom of the stand is provided with a second pivot connection for pivotally mounting of a separated rotating seat, the lamp thus has a function of rotating with two pivot axles, and is portable and can save space in packaging; a receptacle is provided on the top of and engaged with the lamp shade, the receptacle receives a stretchable or drawable frame therein, a magnifying glass is provided in the frame and can be stretched out and firmly kept in a suitable anglular position on the lamp shade for viewing under illumination, the magnifying glass can be hidden in the receptacle when not in use.

The flashlight holder has a removably attachable collar coupled to a handle. The handle is dimensioned so as to permit the user to control a flashlight to which the collar is attached by holding the handle with a few fingers while making the same hand available for other activities, such as holding a firearm. In another embodiment, the handle is dimensioned so as to removably attach to the back of the user's hand and at least a portion of the palm.

Abstract: A light fixture for photography. A spherical lantern having a semi-transparent light-diffusing surface membrane is secured to a frame that includes a wand of inverted U-shape design. A crosspiece that spans the width of the wand includes a junction box upon which a socket is provided for receiving a light globe. The spherical surface of the surrounding lantern creates a light diffusing surface that softens and lessens the size of shadows cast by illuminated objects.

Abstract: A flashlight holder for use with flashlights for security or law enforcement personnel, which has a cantilevered arm connected to a spacer arm and a removably attachable collar for affixing the spacer arm to the housing of a flashlight. When the holder is affixed to the flashlight a passageway is formed between the cantilevered arm and the flashlight housing which permits the passage of a hand therethrough. The flashlight holder permits the simultaneous holding of the flashlight with one hand and holding of a gun with the other hand in a manner that locks the movement of both gun and flashlight.

Abstract: A hand-held fluorescent light includes a handle to be gripped by the user for carrying the light. An electronic ballast is contained in the handle for providing starting voltage and for limiting electric current through the circuit elements of the light. A replaceable, phosphor-coated, sealed bulb is connected to the handle and includes at least one electrode located in the bulb for receiving an electric current from the ballast. A shock absorbing bulb socket serves to electrically connect the electrode and the ballast together.

Abstract: An improved auxiliary light for automotive trailers with a lamp portion having conventional socket, bulb, and contact components removably received into a bracket or housing mounted on the trailer frame. The lamp portion has locking rails and a slotted upper opening which engage rail guides and the upper face of the bracket or housing, respectively. A looped handle portion is provided on the top of the lamp to facilitate installation and removal. The bracket or housing is secured by screws to the trailer frame. Rail guides on the interior portion of the bracket or housing receive the lock rails on the lamp portion. A 12-volt wire assembly is connected to the trailer light outlet of the vehicle and connects at its other end to electrical contacts of the bracket or housing. The electrical contacts of the lamp engage those of the bracket or housing upon installation and strap closures are provided on the bracket or housing to secure the lamp in place.

Abstract: A disposable cover for a handle of a fixture which is normally positioned within a sterile field comprises first and second panels formed of flexible, medical grade plastic film material bonded together at portions of their respective perimeters to form a receptacle including an open cuff merging with a hollow sleeve which is closed except at the cuff and is shaped and dimensioned to receive a grip portion of the handle.

Abstract: A portable halogen bulb worklight fixture is formed with a housing forming a bulb containing cavity and a light emitting opening. A peripheral frame, a frame handle extending outwardly from one side of the frame. A top handle is located above the frame and a bulb storage compartment is located in the top handle. A base structure is arranged to minimize exposure of the user to heat generated by the fixture when replacing a bulb and when being transported from one site to another.

Abstract: A disposable sterile cover for a contoured handle of a surgical lighting fixture, which is formed from a thin-walled flexible material and shaped to match the configuration of the contoured handle. The sterile disposable cover is fitted around the contoured handle in order to prevent the hands of surgical personnel from directly touching the handle when moving and/or focusing the lighting fixture during surgery. The cover includes a flange portion and an elongated, cylindrically-shaped, hollow grip portion. The grip portion has a plurality of elongated expandable channels formed therein, which facilitate fitting the cover over the contoured handle. The disposable cover may be used with contoured handles having different configurations. In an alternative embodiment, a length of tape, having pressure sensitive adhesive applied thereto, is attached to the disposable cover, and may be wrapped around the cover for the purpose of securing the cover to the handle.

Abstract: A barbecue grill light (10) comprising a housing (12). A structure (14) is for mounting the housing (12) to a side platform board (16) of a barbecue grill (18), having a cooking grate (20). An elongate flexible gooseneck shaft (22) has a lower end connected to the housing (12). An assembly (24) for illuminating is affixed to an upper end of the elongate flexible gooseneck shaft (22). The illuminating assembly (24) can be directed at food (26) cooking on the cooking grate (20) of the barbecue grill (18) at night, to allow a person using the barbecue grill (18) to see the food (26) cooking.

Abstract: A disposable cover for an operating room lighting fixture handle comprises a sheath attached to a generally flat flange. At least one tab is integrally formed projecting from the flange, to provide a snap fit between the flange and a recessed area on the light fixture handle. Two covers may be conveniently packaged within a compact envelope by engaging the locking tabs of each cover with those of the other.

Abstract: A self-positioning light fixture with a stabilizing base comprises a self-righting member in the shape of a spherical segment and a separate lamp supporting member with connecting means to join the two together and to separate each from the other. When separated, a filling neck or spout on the top wall of the self-righting member is exposed through which fluid ballast material such a sand may be poured into the cavity of the self-righting member. The filling neck has external threads to engage the internal threads of a recess opening to the bottom wall of the lamp supporting member when received therein to thereby couple the two members together. Additional fastening screws are provided to more securely connect the self-righting member to the lamp supporting member. A shock absorbing mechanism is provided comprising mounting springs to secure the lamp bulb socket member to the lamp supporting member and thereby protect it from shocks transmitted to the lamp fixture.

Abstract: Customer information display apparatus is attached to a beverage dispense tap. In one embodiment the dispense tap handle 18 is formed of or includes light transparent and/or light reflective material, a light generating means 22, 30 is attached to the tap body, or a counter fitting therefor, remote from the tap handle, and means 36, 20 are provided to direct light from the light generating means to the tap handle, whereby, in use, the tap handle can illuminate to display customer information. In another embodiment, a shield 58 is provided on the tap body 10 and/or the tap handle 40 to present an information display surface to face customers and to mask from customer view the pivotal interface 12 between the tap handle and the tap body, at least when the tap handle is in its closed position. The apparatus may be designed for attachment to existing taps with minimal or no modification.

Each handle member includes a mounting head portion and a grip portion. The mounting head has a transverse channel extending between its opposite sides, having a cross-sectional configuration adapted to register with either of the posts. The opposite sides of the mounting head are configured as a hilt. The grip is held at a canted orientation with respect to the lens. The mounting heads and posts carry intercooperable latching structure.

To the bottom surface of the horizontal member (22A) is attached a clevis structure (26) to which is swivelly attached a first end (28A) of a clamp support link (28). The second end (28B) of the support link is rigidly attached to a first handle (30A) of a spring-loaded clamp (30). The clamp (30) functions as a third leg that when positioned vertically and used in combination with a pair of legs (24) that extend from the structure (20), allows the assembly (10) to be stably placed upon a horizontal surface.

The cover includes a flange portion and an elongated, cylindrically-shaped, hollow grip portion. The grip portion has a plurality of elongated expandable channels formed therein, which facilitate fitting the cover over the contoured handle. The disposable cover may be used with contoured handles having different configurations. In an alternative embodiment, a length of tape, having pressure sensitive adhesive applied thereto, is attached to the disposable cover, and may be wrapped around the cover for the purpose of securing the cover to the handle.
