Electric Motor Patents (Class 366/251)
  • Patent number: 4480926
Abstract: A device for mixing an individual serving portion of powdered food product with liquid includes an upwardly open container having a wide screw neck and a cover formed to threadably mount on the neck to form a sealed chamber within the container. A motor is mounted on the top of the cover and drives a rotatable shaft which, when the cover is secured on the container, extends downwardly from the cover into the container chamber along a central axis thereof. The container is generally circular in horizontal cross-section and two spaced apart pairs of blades are fixed to the shaft for rotation therewith. For use, powdered food product and liquid are placed in the container, the cover is secured on the container, and the motor is actuated to cause rotation of the shaft and blades. The blades are uniquely pitched so that their rotation, combined with the circular shape of the container, creates a vortex in the liquid in the container during mixing.

  • Patent number: 4439043
Abstract: The appliance comprises a mixing chamber within which a mechanical beater is rotatably mounted, an oil reservoir, a sliding separator placed beneath the oil reservoir and a mixing chamber placed beneath the separator. Oil is fed from the reservoir to the mixing chamber via a calibrated passage which opens into the mixing chamber in a suction zone created as a result of the centrifugal force produced by the mechanical beater.

  • Patent number: 4422770
Abstract: An electric drill powered paint stirrer for stirring paint in a conventional paint marketing can of the kind normally closed for sale by a lid. A second lid is substitutable on the can for the marketing lid and has a central opening. A stirring rod assembly is releasably securable in the second lid. The assembly comprises a bushing element having a reduced diameter externally threaded and extending from a shoulder. The bushing has a central through bore. The second lid opening is of diameter to snugly receive the threaded bushing end therethrough but not the shoulder. The assembly further includes a stirring rod having an upstanding shank extending upward through the bushing. The rod has upper and lower radially widened portions closely flanking the upper and lower ends of the bushing for axially locating the shank in the bushing. The rod has a bottom portion depending from the shank and sized to lie close to the can peripheral wall and bottom for stirring paint in the marketing can.

  • Patent number: 4422771
Abstract: A floating downflow mixer including a float having a central float passage and a pump casing mounted on the float with its upper end spaced below the float to provide an intake at the underside of the float. A drive motor is mounted on top of the float and has an integral shaft extension extending downwardly through the float passage and a propeller mounted at its lower end in the pump casing. A shaft stabilizer tube is supported on a mounting plate attached to the top of the float and extends downwardly through the float with an anti-deflection bearing at its lower end surrounding the shaft and having a running clearance therewith to inhibit deflection of the shaft. The mounting plate seals the float passage between the stabilizer tube and float and a mechanical rotary seal seals the interface between the stabilizer tube and shaft to prevent entrance of air to the anti-deflection bearing and propeller.

  • Patent number: 4225248
Abstract: A stirring device for mixing the contents of containers or vessles, particularly for paints; dyes and the like, comprising at least one first magnetic mechanism enclosed within a fixed seat or housing and which is rotatably driven, and a second magnetic mechanism; cooperating with each corresponding first magnetic mechanism and associated with a stirring shaft of a container or vessel bearing on the closing or covering plate of said seat or housing, to transfer the rotation of the first magnetic means to the second magnetic mechanism and stirring shaft, at the same time holding the container pressed against said closing or covering plate of the seat or housing, and accordingly at a fixed condition. A metering device is also provided for metering the different contents of a mixture.

  • Patent number: 4159879
Abstract: An appliance for mixing bread dough is constructed in association with a support structure adapted for mounting atop an open bucket. A high speed, low power motor is mounted atop the structure, and is connected through a speed-reducing transmission to drive a shaft projecting down from the support structure in axial alignment with the center of the bucket. A dough hook is attached to the driven shaft to turn within the bucket. The motor is selected from those which are rated between one-tenth and one-fifteenth horsepower, have a minimum unloaded speed of 8,000 rpm and a maximum loaded speed of 5,000 rpm. The reduction ratio of the transmission is correlated with the motor to effect an unloaded mixing speed for the dough hook of no less than 75 rpm and a maximum kneading speed at full load of no more than 50 rpm.

  • Patent number: 4151792
Abstract: This invention is a cooker - mixer apparatus utilized with a stove type heater element to cook and mix food products simultaneously. More particularly, the cooker - mixer apparatus includes a cooker means having an electrically driven mixer means connected thereto. The cooker means can resemble a conventional pressure cooker structure with a lid assembly releasably connected to a main container member. The mixer means includes a power assembly operable to drive a mixer assembly through a connector shaft assembly. The mixer assembly lies against a bottom wall and lower sidewall area of the main container member and includes a main hub member with four (4) equally spaced paddle assemblies connected thereto. Each paddle assembly includes a spoke member integral on an outer end with a flexible wiper end member. The spoke member is provided with cut-out, material flow channels to aid in mixing of the food product therein.
