Snow Or Ice Removing Or Grooming By Portable Device Patents (Class 37/196)
  • Patent number: 4858270
Abstract: A chassis frame is supported on a front steering axle and a rear steering axle. Between the two axles and beneath the chassis frame, a hollow support serving as a main blow duct is pivotingly disposed. Raisably and lowerably connected to the support via levers is a sweeping-brush roller. Connected to the support are blowing nozzles which lead air supplied by a fan mounted on the chassis frame into a blow duct formed by a cover plate disposed in front of the sweeping-brush roller. Disposed within the blow duct are two suction ports which are connected via dirt-suction pipes to a vacuum-sweepings container disposed on the chassis frame. The outlet of the vacuum-sweeings container is connected at a dismantling point to an air-suction duct which is in turn connected to the intake of the fan. This cleaning vehicle can be used for snow clearance by opening a flap and closing another flap in an air-outlet pipe piece and by moving an operating lever from a middle position into either of two end positions.

  • Patent number: 4729199
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for the removal of accumulated snow loads from roofs. The apparatus comprises a plurality of upper and lower brackets affixable to a planar roof surface in spaced configuration thereon. Each bracket has one or more slots capable of receiving and retaining a wire. Actuation of the system by pulling a wire causes the wire to be released from the upper brackets, and to slice through an accumulated snow load, breaking the seal between the snow and the roof and resulting in the snow sliding off the roof.

  • Patent number: 4633603
Abstract: A snow removal apparatus adapted to be mounted on a vehicle, for removing snow from a light fixture protruding from the ground. Structure is provided for creating a flowing stream of air and a nozzle connected to the air stream directs the air stream at the ground, the directed stream of air having a flow velocity of at least about 180 m.p.h. The nozzle is adapted to be operatively positioned adjacent the ground at an angle to deflect the directed air stream on the ground at a predetermined distance from the light fixture so as to cause the deflected air stream to impinge on the light fixture at a reduced velocity sufficient to remove snow therefrom without damaging same, and to spread over a surrounding area with sufficient pressure to clear the area of snow.

  • Patent number: 4544304
Abstract: An ice aggregate road structure and apparatus for constructing. The road structure comprises crushed ice aggregate from which fines smaller than 0.1 inch have been removed which aggregate is placed in the desired shape and then bonded by a deeply penetrating application of water which bonds aggregate particles at their points of contact. The apparatus includes a distribution box for receiving ice aggregate and distributing it over a road section to be paved coupled with a bond water distributing means for quickly applying bond water after proper distribution and shaping of the aggregate. The distribution and water spray elements are carried on rails which are in turn supported from a pair of spaced apart carriages containing water heating and pumping means and appropriate power sources for operating the equipment. The carriages are spaced apart to allow trucks to deliver aggregate.
