  • Patent number: 11252661
Abstract: A device, method and software program that allows a network device to remain synchronized to a master device while minimizing its own power consumption is disclosed. The network device exits a low power mode at regular intervals in order to receive a synchronous communication from a master device. Once the network device has received enough information to confirm that this synchronous communication is from the correct master device, the network device may then return to the low power mode, even before the entirety of the synchronous communication has been received. This may reduce the time that the network device is in the active state by more than 90% in certain instances.

  • Patent number: 11228919
Abstract: An electronic device, a method, and a BS for managing a BSs in a shared spectrum. The electronic device receives synchronization measurement reports (SMRs) from the BSs and identifies, based on the SMRs, at least one synchronization source BS and at least one slave BS from the BSs. Transmission timing of the at least one slave BS is based on transmission timing of the at least one synchronization source BS. The electronic device assigns the at least one synchronization source BS to a stratum in a synchronization hierarchy. A synchronization source BS assigned to an n=0 stratum provides a reference frame timing for the plurality of BSs and a synchronization source BS assigned to an n>0 stratum derives frame timing from another synchronization source BS assigned to an n?1 stratum. The electronic device configures synchronization signals and transmits synchronization management indications (SMIs) to the plurality of BSs.

Abstract: The described techniques provide for devices (e.g., a base station, a user equipment (UE)) to determine control channel processing limits for control channels for a CA configuration for a plurality of component carriers (CCs) with mixed numerology and synchronicities (e.g., CCs may have different transmission time interval (TTI) durations, subcarrier spacings, or frame timing). The devices may determine control channel processing limits for numerology groups or synchronization groups of the CA configuration based on a UE capability for processing control channels for a number of CCs, which may be allocated proportionally according to number of cells, allocated equally, or allocated using weighting factors assigned to synchronization or numerology groups. Abstract: A scalable multi-cluster resource sharing facility. A global witness process runs on a first computing platform that communicates over one or more networks to any number of nodes situated over two or more clusters. The global witness process listens on the network for occurrences of leadership and/or resource requests from nodes of different clusters. The global witness processes a request by retrieving a resource request and a respective last known state value, comparing the last known state value to a global stored state value, then storing a new state value when the respective last known state value is equal to the stored state value. Any number of contemporaneous requests can be processed by the global witness process, however only one request can be granted. The other requestors each receive a rejection of their resource request when their proffered last known state value is not equal to the stored state value.

Abstract: Teachings herein improve the choice of carrier placement in a wireless communication network by de-coupling the carrier raster from the subcarrier grid. Recognizing that the placement of a carrier by its center frequency is an artificial construct, it is re-defined and the carrier placement is instead defined by the carrier position, which is on a carrier raster (e.g., 100 kHz), but in general does not have to be the center of the carrier. Second, a subcarrier grid is defined that is common for all RF carriers and spanning a range of frequencies, at least within an operating band, and provides orthogonality for subcarriers within all RF carriers regardless of carrier position. Third, a unique mapping from the carrier position on the RF carrier raster to a subcarrier reference position, e.g., the DC subcarrier, is defined, which in turn identifies the exact position of the RF carrier on the subcarrier grid.

Abstract: A message transmission method and device relating to the field of communications technologies is disclosed, so as to improve an anti-interference capability in message transmission. The method includes: generating, by a base station, a scrambling code according to a first time parameter; then scrambling a system message according to the scrambling code; and finally sending the scrambled system message to a terminal on a physical broadcast channel. In this technical solution, because the first time parameter has different values at at least two different moments, scrambling codes determined at the at least two corresponding different moments are different. Therefore, a possibility at which the base station uses a same scrambling code to scramble a same system message repeatedly in a time period is reduced, so that an anti-interference capability in system message transmission is improved.
