    Abstract: A transmission method of a femtocell includes the following steps. The femtocell receives and temporarily stores multiple real-time transport protocol (RTP) packets from a UE in a buffer. When the RTP packets are temporarily stored for a time period, the femtocell samples the buffer at a sampling rate to generate multiple CS data packets. The CS data packets include a current CS data packet. When there exists no previous CS data packet received from the UE, the femtocell calculates a timestamp of the current CS data packet according to a current timestamp. When there exists the previous CS data packet, the femtocell calculates the timestamp of the current CS data packet according to the timestamp and a connection frame number (CFN) of the previous CS data packet and a CFN of the current CS data packet.

The synchronized local reference clock, which can exist even when there are no valid derived clocks, may be used to transmit pseudowire frames (e.g., TDM data over Ethernet).

The transmission efficiency can be further increased by increasing the size of the data payload (and correspondingly, the frame length size).

Upon detection of the channel, a look-back channel detector confirms the existence of the channel by using the location of the primary synchronization pattern. Detection and confirmation of the channel may be employed simultaneously to each channel of a multiple-channel direct mode of operation signal. Audio holes may be eliminated in a 2:1 TDMA direct mode operation where both time slots contain signals from two different originating communication devices and the signals have different priority.

The requirements are a hybrid of symbolic, arithmetic and bit-vector constraints, so traditional optimization techniques such as linear programming, that work only for purely arithmetic constraints, do not apply. The requirements are represented as SMT (satisfiability-modulo-theory) constraints on configuration variables, and then a weighted Max-SAT solver is used to compute the optimal configuration changes in order to minimize the cost.

For example, the header portion of the packet could contain one or more bit fields that indicate the value of the LFSR seed used for the preamble portion of the packet. The receiver would learn the out-of-domain seed after receiving a first out-of-domain packet and decoding the header portion of that packet. After learning the out-of-domain seed, the receiver could send a packet indicating the value of the out-of-domain seed to the local master. The local master could then transmit the value of the out-of-domain seed in the header portion or data portion of a local MAP frame.
