Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for providing information local to a called party located in a different geographic location is disclosed. In one embodiment, the computer implemented method includes the steps of receiving, at the communication device, a communication identifier; sending a request to a network device to determine a current location of a second communication device associated with the communication identifier; receiving location information identifying the current location of the communication device associated with the communication identifier; and presenting at least a portion of the information corresponding to the current location of the communication device associated with the communication identifier.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that relate to a centralized communication hub at a user location for coordination of receiving/sending phone calls, SMS/MMS messages, and requests for video conferences to/from a display. A user may indicate that she wishes to receive a call/message by selecting an option on a remote control associated with the display. A microphone and/or camera connected to a gateway may provide audiovisual capabilities during a call. In a separate embodiment, the functionality of the communication hub may be split between two devices; one device detects incoming calls and a separate device routes the calls/messages to/from the appropriate gateway.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method, system, and apparatus for inserting caller identifying information into a video signal includes receiving a digital video stream and receiving caller identifier information from an incoming call associated with a calling device. The method further includes converting the caller identifier information into caller identifying textual information, and inserting the caller identifying textual information into the digital video stream using a visual timecode video insertion format. Abstract: Arrangements described herein include identifying a voice communication session established between a first communication device and a second communication device and, based on the voice communication session established between the first communication device and the second communication device, identifying a plurality of contacts who potentially may be the second user. Abstract: A first telephone number assigned to the first telephone is cryptographically hashed to generate a first message digest, and the first telephone sends a signal to a second telephone over a communication network, wherein the signal includes the first message digest. The second telephone receives the first signal and searches its contact records to determine whether a telephone number in one of the contact records generates a message digest that matches the message digest received. Abstract: The present invention is directed to a computer program, method, and system for presenting user-selectable content on another user's computing device. Embodiments of the present invention permit a first user to create relationships and networks between other users. Once relationships have been created, the first user can select multimedia content to be presented to a second user or group of users. The content is presented to the second user upon the first user initiating a telephone call to the second user and during a pre-answer stage comprising ringing of the second user's computing device; upon the second user answering the call, the presentation of the content is terminated. Abstract: Personal mobility, multiparty control, and device augmentation features are provided within a voice-over-Internet protocol environment, such as a distributed feature composition (DFC) telecommunications architecture. The personal mobility features allow a caller to be identified to a callee using a desired identifier in place of an identifier of the device from which a call is made. Such personal mobility features are made available in multiparty calling environments and after mid-call moves. Device augmentation features provide enhanced calling options to a device that may otherwise be unequipped to provide such options, thus enabling personal mobility and multiparty control features across a wide variety of telecommunications devices.

Abstract: Embodiments provide caller information in multiple languages to multiple receiving communication devices. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a call request from a sending endpoint communication device connected to a network. Caller identification information associated with the call request is obtained, where the caller identification information includes one or more identifications associated with the sending endpoint communication device. Each identification specifies the same content in a different language. The call request and at least one of the identifications are transmitted over the network to be received by receiving endpoint communication devices connected to the network. Each receiving endpoint communication device can output at least one of the received identifications specified in a language designated for use by that receiving endpoint communication device.

Abstract: A communication system receives data that does not pertain to an attempted initial establishment of a communication. The communication system uses a new message format under an existing analog Caller ID standard. The communication system inserts the data (which can be in addition to existing Caller ID data) into a Caller ID message that uses the new message format. The communication system then sends the Caller ID message to a communication device/Private Branch Exchange (PBX)/contact center that can interpret the new message format. The communication device/PBX/contact center can use the data to further route the communication to a specific telephone and/or can use the data to display information such as Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates of a cell phone. The data can enhance the capabilities of devices and systems that currently work under the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

Abstract: Described are a system and method for processing content in a unified communications environment. A search is performed for collaborative history data at the second party electronic device using the identifier. Abstract: An embodiment according to the invention provides automatic discovery, via Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Voice Biometrics, of the identification of a caller, when the caller is making a phone call from, for example, a residential line. The caller may, for example, initiate a phone call by voice request to a computer or other device. The device initiates the call, but rather than using the conventional technique of determining Calling Name via lookup to the Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP) database, the embodiment uses a technique of ASR in tandem with voice or other biometrics to recognize who within the residence is making the call, and to use the name associated with the requesting caller's voiceprint for determining the Calling Name to display to the called party. Other forms of biometrics, such as image biometrics (e.g., facial or iris biometrics), may alternatively be employed.

For example, a request for a prospective call between a caller and a callee can be received via a server. The prospective call can be electronically added to call lists associated respectively with the caller and the callee. Abstract: There is described herein a message forwarding system that is easily adaptable to evolving technologies. In one embodiment, a first user attempts to place a telephone call to a second user, and caller identification (CID) data are encoded into the outgoing call. The call is directed into a public switched telephone network (PSTN) servicing the second user. The PSTN may operate on a modern telephony protocol such as Signaling System #7 and may be equipped with an Advanced Intelligent Network. If the call is not completed, a message including CID information is sent via means such as short messaging service. Because the equipment resides in the PSTN, it is independent of the technology used to receive the transmitted data. Furthermore, the information may be provided even in times of emergency, such as when telephone service to the second user has been disrupted.

Abstract: Methods for enabling enhanced call return in a communications network is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving an incoming telephone call from a caller, wherein the incoming telephone call identifies a subscriber as a callee thereof; capturing caller-specific information for the caller, wherein the caller-specific information includes at least one of the name of the caller and the telephone number of the caller; and storing the caller-specific information into an intelligent peripheral (IP) within the network. Some embodiments of the methods include allowing the subscriber to access the caller-specific information stored in the IP. In some embodiments, the subscriber subscribes to an enhanced call return (ECR) feature as part of a service plan. The ECR feature allows the subscriber to access caller-specific information for a predetermined number of past callers and also to return calls from those past callers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying participants present in a communication session are disclosed. More particularly, the identification of participants using a shared communication endpoint is enabled. Identification can include receiving information from a first participant that identifies a second participant. The identification of the second participant can include receiving a selection of the second participant from a list of expected conference participants presented to the first participant through a communication device associated with the first participant, after the first participant has been registered as a participant in the communication session.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for providing telephone number sharing services to subscribers over public switched telephone network or data network. The disclosed system maintains a bank of reusable caller identifiers (IDs). The system receives call details of a call from a subscriber of the system. The call details include a caller identifier (ID) preference of the subscriber and a called number corresponding to the called party. The system stores the call details in a database. The system determines whether the call from the subscriber is a first call to the called number. In response to the call being the first call to the called number, the system assigns a call ID from the bank of reusable caller IDs that satisfies the reusable caller ID preference of the subscriber, and connects the call to the called number along with the caller ID.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a call in real-time are disclosed. Methods and systems consistent with the present invention manage a call in real-time based on input from a user. A service center receives information pertaining to a call to the user from a service control point and sends a notification of the call to a device associated with the user. The service center receives a response to the notification from the user. Thereafter, the service center instructs the service control point to connect the call based on the response.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media, for facilitating incoming spoof call determinations are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving call-setup data including a point code associated with origination of a call intended for a receiving device. The point code can be utilized to determine that the call intended for the receiving device is a spoof call. Such a spoof call can be initiated by a spoof-calling party associated with a number and is intended to provide an indication to the receiving device that the call is associated with another number.

Abstract: All calls terminating to a customer's directory number are intercepted. If caller identification information can be presented, the call is forwarded to a service node for disposition. The service node reconfigures signaling information of the call so that the call is not intercepted, then forwards the call to the subscriber's telephone. When the call is answered, the service node states the name or telephone number of the calling party which has been retrieved from the signaling information. The caller can decide whether to take the call, deny the call, send the call to voice mail or send a sales refusal message or other disposition option.

Abstract: A system and method for processing interaction requests includes a computer system that receives over a data channel from an end user device accessible to the customer, a request for an interaction. The request includes data from an application running on the end user device. The data is stored by the computer system upon receipt. When a voice call from a telephony device accessible to the customer is received, a voice media session is established with the telephony device over a voice channel. The data is identified based on information associated with the voice call. A contact center resource is further identified for routing the voice call. The data is attached to a request to route the call to the identified contact center resource.

Abstract: Methods and systems consistent with the present invention screen calls. A first server receives information pertaining to a call to a user from a calling party. The first server then determines whether a real-time call management function is enabled for the user and determines whether a calling party number associated with the calling party is valid when the realtime call management function is not enabled. Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing users operating on Signaling System No. 7 (SS7) networks with the ability to interconnect with Advance Intelligent Networking (AIN) and, in particular, to provide database lookup for the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry, without requiring users to implement complex and expensive systems in their network. An Intelligent Call Management (ICM) structure receiving information of a dialed toll number is able to convert the information into a compatible database request to determine whether the call to the toll number is allowed to be completed based on information retrieved from the database.

Abstract: The present invention provides two methods for diverting call. The key point is that call diverting information including a number to be called is transmitted when there is an incoming call or a conversation is being conducted and then a party receiving the call diverting information initiates a call to a terminal to which the number to be called directs, so that the call is diverted. Further, the present invention provides two phone terminals. By virtual of the present invention, it is possible for a user to select any terminal to receive a call, and such selection may be made before or during the phone conversation. Moreover, since it is unnecessary to use exiting call diverting methods, it is possible for the function which otherwise should be implemented at the switch side to be easily implemented on a terminal, and thus the cost of call diverting is saved. The present invention is easy to be deployed.
