A system includes at least one session border controller (SBC) configured for forwarding media streams to a forwarding function. The system includes the forwarding function, implemented on a centralized node for a telecommunications network. The forwarding function is configured for receiving the media streams and forwarding each media stream to a respective lawful intercept mediation server for at least one country associated with the media stream. The forwarding function is configured for, in response to receiving a first packet of a first media stream from the SBC, performing a destination lookup for the first media stream and sending a mediation server identifier for the first media stream to the SBC. The SBC can be configured for sending a session release indicator and a direction flag to the forwarding function.

Abstract: A system of handling callers, uses a computer, that receives a call, assigns an operator to handle the call, and automatically recognizes at least one aspect of a voice from a caller, and automatically forms a response to be given to the caller. The caller is prevented from knowing they are speaking with a computer by receiving responses from multiple different similar sounding operators. The computer providing sound to the caller which interferes with the caller being able to determine that the caller has been placed on hold from the operator, e.g., an average of multiple people talking in the background. The computer also maintains a ledger of the call, where the ledger includes information about recognized voice from the caller, and responses which were given to the caller, for each of a plurality of exchanges which occur during the call and distributes that ledger.

Abstract: A voice assistant service (VAS) may receive an audio request from a user via a first device via a voice assistant application executed by the first device. The VAS may determine that the audio request references a context queue that stores log information about user-interaction with a second device. The VAS may analyze the log information from the context queue to determine a context of the audio request as a supplemented request. The VAS may determine a response based on the supplemented text request. The response may be an audio response and/or an action, such as a computing action. The VAS may provide an audible response to the voice assistance application for output to the user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a processor receives data indicative of a plurality of conversations involving a primary user. The processor identifies a subset of the plurality of conversations that are regarding a particular topic. The processor adds a conversation to the subset based on a match between one or more keywords in the conversation matching a list of keywords associated with the particular topic. The processor uses a machine learning-based model to identify one or more context characteristics of the conversations in the identified subset. The processor updates the subset of conversations by adding at least one of the conversations to the subset based on the at least one conversation having at least one context characteristic identified by the machine learning-based model. The processor provides data indicative of the updated subset of conversations to a user interface for review by the primary user.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for effecting a voice communication between user terminals connected via a communication network include displaying a menu of country options to a user and receiving a number in local form. Formatting rules are recalled for a destination country selected by the user from the country options. A country prefix for the destination country is prepended to the number in accordance with the formatting rules to generate a formatted number. The formatted number is supplied to a client installed at the user terminal for effecting the voice communication using the formatted number.

Abstract: A first call from a caller to a called party is forwarded to an agent at an answering service. A notification is received from the agent that a level of seriousness of the first call has become dire, and a second call is established between the agent and a crisis service having a crisis counselor that can provide assistance to the caller. The agent is connected into the second call only when the crisis counselor has acknowledged being available, and the second call is joined with the first call. The crisis counselor and the caller are allowed to speak directly by way of the joined calls, so that the crisis counselor can address the caller and attempt to convince same to avoid any activity that would be harmful thereto.

Abstract: Systems and processes for robust end-pointing of speech signals using speaker recognition are provided. In one example process, a stream of audio having a spoken user request can be received. A first likelihood that the stream of audio includes user speech can be determined. A second likelihood that the stream of audio includes user speech spoken by an authorized user can be determined. A start-point or an end-point of the spoken user request can be determined based at least in part on the first likelihood and the second likelihood.

Abstract: A voice trigger method for an electronic apparatus is provided. The voice trigger method includes the following steps. Receive a current voice signal. Extract a current voice feature from the current voice signal. Determine whether a previous voice feature of a previous voice signal is stored. When the previous voice feature is stored, at least one of adjusting a confidence threshold and determining whether to wake up the electronic apparatus is performed according to whether the previous voice feature is corresponding to a false acceptance situation or a false rejection situation and the similarity between the current voice feature and the previous voice feature.

A portion of the speech pattern is determined as including the voice-command. That portion of the speech pattern is separated from the speech pattern and compared with a second speech pattern. If the two speech patterns match or resemble each other, the portion of the speech pattern is accepted as the voice-command. An operation corresponding to the voice-command is determined and performed. The operation may perform an operation on a remote device, forward the voice-command to a remote device, or notify a user. The operation may create a second communication path that may allow a headset to join in a communication between another headset and a communication device, several headsets to communicate with each other, or a headset to communicate with several communication devices.

Application level routing operations may be performed to identify a suitable destination component. Information contained in the first message may be used to generate a second message encoding signaling information, which is sent to the identified destination component.

The techniques include receiving a spoken tag, comparing the spoken tag to a set of one or more template tags, if the spoken tag is a match to a template tag, assigning the spoken tag and updating frequency of the tag in the set of one or more template tags, and if the spoken tag is not a match to a template tag, assigning the spoken tag and registering the spoken tag as a new tag in the set of one or more template tags.

Abstract: A caller seeks customer service related to the provision of information assistance service whose call is transferred from an information assistance service center to a customer service center. After the customer service center assists the caller with the customer service question, if the caller needs information assistance, the customer service center provides the necessary assistance, without transferring the call back to the information assistance service center. The customer service center may also be able to help connect the caller to the desired destination number. The connection to the destination number, however, is routed through the information assistance service center, not the customer service center, based on data transmitted from the customer service center to the information assistance service center.

Abstract: A system and method for reducing unwanted telemarketing calls may include storing a contact list for users of a telephone assigned to an associated telephone number. An incoming telephone call from a caller may be intercepted and a determination may be made as to whether the caller is in the contact list. In response to determining that the caller is in the contact list, the incoming call may be connected to the telephone assigned to the called telephone number. Otherwise, in response to determining that the caller is not in the contact list, the caller may be prompted with an audible message, and, in response to the caller responding to the audible message by entering a first response, the incoming call may be blocked from connecting to the called telephone. Otherwise, in response to a second response, the incoming call may be connected.

Abstract: A system is provided for connecting a first client entity to a second client entity in a communications network. The first client entity has subscribed to a connection service. A routing module routes via a connecting device a first call made by the second client entity to the first client entity and redirected to a third client entity. The connecting device inserts a linking module for the interception of the first call. A first branch is established between the second client entity and the linking module and a second branch is established between the linking module and the third client entity. The connecting device then detects a second call associated to the connection service made by the first client entity via the linking module, and then connects the first and second client entities by connecting the first branch and this second call by means of the linking module.

Abstract: A mechanism is described that enables encrypted end-point communications in a VoIP network to be accessed by a service provider. The mechanism includes a session information retrieval component which gathers session information such as encryption keys for each session that traverses a network element. The encryption keys may be used to decrypt data to make it available for lawful interception. A media stream monitoring component monitors media streams and verifies that the identified keys for each session are valid, to ensure continuity in compliance with LI regulations. Advantageously a security alert component may be used to controls further session operation for those sessions identified as potential security risks. With such an arrangement, the service provider can satisfy the legal requirement to provide interception, verify that the accuracy of the legal interception support and take appropriate steps to handle security risks.

A user can be provided with a pool of available temporary disposable numbers that have a limited shelf life. The user can select one of the available temporary disposable numbers while submitting a permanent phone number associated with a communications device (e.g., mobile phone, home phone, business phone, etc.). Prior to activating the selected temporary disposable number, the temporary disposable number is linked to the permanent phone number. After activation, when an incoming call to the temporary disposable number is received, the permanent phone number is identified to be associated with the temporary disposable number being called. The incoming call is then forwarded to the communications device on which the permanent phone number is established.
