Abstract: An electronic shopping system, such as an ecommerce retail website, is constructed and programmed to provide online shoppers with the ability to create and manage multiple configurable item orders contemporaneously within a single customer account. Each item in an item order is associated with a “purchase status” which can, in addition to other discrete adjustments, be toggled between “active” and “inactive” states at or before checkout. Each item order is itself configurable in respect of delivery address, payment source, frequency, and schedule. Orders and settings are saved within the customer's account to be recalled, reviewed, refined (if desired), and executed at checkout.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to techniques for enhanced call routing for groups. Some embodiments are particularly directed to a connection manager that can identify one or more secondary telephony endpoints to invite to join a call based on one or more routing policies. One or more embodiments described herein may include a connection manager that provides customizable extension capabilities to a wireless cellular phone. The systems, devices, and methods described herein may be embodied in and performed by communication devices, telecommunications servers, and other devices, and software instructions executed by some or all of such devices.

Abstract: Devices, methods and computer program products are provided for dispatching messages to recipients and for prioritizing the dispatch of generic-recipient messages. The device and methods are generally automatic and, thus, require minimal manual intervention by system administrators. Further, the devices and methods are capable of supporting both local and remote message dispatching so as to optimize the system and achieve a lowest cost alternative. In addition, the devices and methods of the present invention dispatch messages over various communication means, such as short-range wireless, Internet, cellular networks and the like.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a notification triggered device management session are described. A request for a device management session for a mobile station is received at a device management server. In response to determining that the mobile station is not connected to a cellular network, a home subscriber server is signaled to update a user equipment profile for the mobile station to indicate that the mobile station has a pending device management session. Upon connection of the mobile station to a first network, the mobile station is signaled to connect to the device management server for the device management session using a call session control function. The mobile station is connected with the device management server using the first network. The device management session is run using the first network connection between the mobile station and the device management server.

Abstract: A method for using a mobile software application for deleting or recalling unwanted messages on a mobile device before it is delivered to the intended recipient is provided. The software application operates by running on top of the resident messaging application on the mobile device. For example, the application caches the message for specified amount of time and thereby sets a length of delay. The user has the application on the mobile device and the message is composed on the OST application and the application software keeps the message in a buffer for a predetermined amount of time after the user selects to send the message such that if the user regrets sending the message, it can be deleted or recalled before the message leaves the mobile device. Other advantages that are understood from the present disclosure will further be apparent.

Abstract: Calls placed to a call recipient bypass the terminating messaging system, creating an enhanced message in the call originator's messaging system and delivering the enhanced message using alternate routing information. A caller creates enhanced messages for a call recipient even when the call recipient's messaging system does not support such functionality. The caller also embeds stored content and/or use links in the enhanced messages to allow the message to be modified and/or deleted before it is accessed by the call recipient.

Abstract: A system, method and/or computer program product monitors delivery of text messages related to network traffic between a user's electronic system and a server. A capture server captures a network traffic message from a user's electronic system to a solution server. In response to capturing a request for specific information from the solution server, the capture server captures a related text message from the solution server to a text message gateway. The capture server then monitors a text message log within the user's electronic system, which contains a record of text messages received by the user's electronic system. In response to the text message log containing no record of the text message from the solution server within a predetermined length of wait time, the capture server generates and transmits an alert message to the solution server.

Abstract: Mechanisms and methods for providing sequenced applications upon communications session termination are provided. More particularly, a variety of messages, transcriptions, recordings, information sharing, billing, verification, participant listing, reporting, date and time stamping, linkages to other applications, launching of software programs, initiation of one or more subsequent communications sessions via the same or other communications modalities, and the like are possible. Provision of sequenced applications is performed in accordance with selections made as part of the initial negotiation of the communications session, during the communications session, or prior to the communications session to drive the applications launched upon call disconnect.

Abstract: A method includes converting, by a computer, a set of context-aware data forwarding policies to a set of network configuration forwarding rules for one or more data forwarding devices in a network having a dynamic context, and conveying, to the data forwarding devices, the set of network configuration forwarding rules. Upon detecting a change in the dynamic context of the network, the set of network configuration forwarding rules ae updated based on the set of context-aware data forwarding policies and the change in the dynamic context, and the updated set of network configuration forwarding rules are conveyed to the data forwarding devices.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for a virtual fax machine are provided. In one embodiment, a system for a virtual fax machine is provided including a computer configured to display a virtual fax machine based on a script, a server configured to receive at least one electronic document associated with a fax to be sent using the virtual fax machine, and a traditional facsimile machine configured to receive the fax to be sent. In another embodiment, an apparatus for a virtual fax machine is provided including a computer configured to locate and execute a script associated with a virtual fax machine, display the virtual fax machine, associate at least one electronic document with a fax to be sent, encode the at least one electronic document to a form suitable for communication over a network, and transmit the encoded electronic document over the network as the fax to be sent.

Abstract: In particular embodiments, a mailbox server is operable to receive, from a client, a message to be delivered to an endpoint; store the message in a mailbox associated with the user; access a set of policies for the client or the endpoint; determine a delivery channel for the message based on the policies; and transmit the message to the endpoint through the delivery channel. In particular embodiments, the mailbox server may transmit SMS messages via a special bind with a recipients SMSC, or via a carrier short code. In particular embodiments, the mailbox server may transmit the message as an email or via an internal messaging system over a packet data connection.

Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for delivering recallable messages via Internet or telephony paths. A sender may configure a message as a recallable message on a communication device that is communicatively connected to a messaging alert platform. The request is delivered to a messaging alert platform, which then delivers the recallable message on the Internet or telephony paths. The messages are formatted by the messaging alert platform based to comply with the requirements of the selected communication path. The messaging alert platform attempts delivery until all paths are exhausted or a response, not an auto-reply, is received from the recipient of the message. The responses are filtered by the messaging alert platform before delivering the response from the recipient to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate to indexing of performance and cost of workloads in a computing environment. The computing environment may include a virtualized computing environment. According to some embodiments, a performance index relating to a plurality of workloads executing in the computing environment may be generated, where the performance index is based at least in part on performance and cost of use of one or more resources in the computing environment by the plurality of workloads. The index may be normalized. If the performance or cost of a particular workload departs from an expected performance or cost determined from the average performance and/or cost in the computing environment, resources may be reallocated to the workloads such that the performance or cost of the workload is closer to its expected performance or cost based on the performance index.

Abstract: Multi-modal interaction with a telephonic device using a call handling system is enabled by receiving a call at an interactive voice response (IVR) system of the call handling system, the call being received from a telephonic device of a caller. A voice communications session between the IVR and the telephonic device is established in response to the call. Whether the telephonic device is capable of processing multi-modal communications is determined. Based on determining that the telephonic device is not capable of processing multi-modal communications, the IVR is enabled to access and audibly deliver voice page content to the caller via the voice communications session. Alternatively, based on determining that the telephonic device is capable of processing multi-modal communications, the call handling system is configured to exchange multi-modal communications with the telephonic device during the call.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate to indexing of performance and cost of workloads in a computing environment. The computing environment may include a virtualized computing environment. According to some embodiments, a performance index relating to a plurality of workloads executing in the computing environment may be generated, where the performance index is based at least in part on performance and cost of use of one or more resources in the computing environment by the plurality of workloads. The index may be normalized. If the performance or cost of a particular workload departs from an expected performance or cost determined from the average performance and/or cost in the computing environment, resources may be reallocated to the workloads such that the performance or cost of the workload is closer to its expected performance or cost based on the performance index.

Abstract: Implementations disclose transmission features for devices during low-bandwidth conditions. In some implementations, a method includes determining that a bandwidth on a network satisfies or will satisfy a low-bandwidth threshold and restricts or will restrict transmission of one or more information messages between the user and one or more entities associated with the one or more information messages. The method modifies transmission of the one or more information messages between the user and the one or more entities based on one or more social relationships between the user and the one or more entities.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided for accessing a file node. In this method, a file access request specifying a file node to be accessed by way of a file system is received at a server from a client device. A counter is referenced to identify that the file node is being accessed in response to a different file access request. The counter is configured to track whether the file node is being accessed. The file node is provided to the client device when the counter indicates a termination of access to the file node resulting from the different file access request.

Abstract: Specifying the policies with which (portion of) an email communication is to be stored as a record, within the content of the email communication. In an embodiment, an attachment file specifies such policies in the form of XML tags. As a result, a user may merely need to attach a file specifying the desired policies, and send the email communication. In one implementation, the user specifies a pre-specified email address as a recipient to cause the email communication to be saved as a record.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing illumination for a video call in a low-lighting environment. The light source may be a hardware component integrated on the front of a mobile device. The light source may be implemented as one or more lit spaces on the device's screen. The intensity of the light from the light source may be based on ambient light levels measured by one or more sensors on the device. When the mobile device receives an incoming video call, the sensors may detect the level of ambient light and activate the light source to illuminate the face of the call recipient if he or she answers the incoming video call. The device may include an interface to allow the user to configure and adjust the intensity, coloring, and lighting pattern of the light during the video call.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided to send an alert to a called party communications device during a call setup phase and to present the alert to a called party during an alert portion of the call setup phase. Other devices, systems, and methods are provided that allow a calling party to remotely and securely access at least one host computer by sending a security phrase during a call setup phase and presenting the security phrase to the host computer to determine if by way of comparison to a voice print if the calling party is a valid user.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for triggering a cloud service, a cloud server, and a thin client. The method includes: receiving a user's operation of triggering a key, where the key is in a preset binding relationship with a specific cloud service of the cloud server; and generating a triggering message according to the operation of triggering the key, and sending the triggering message to the cloud server, so that the cloud server invokes the specific cloud service according to the preset binding relationship. The embodiments of the present invention provide a user with a shortcut method for invoking a cloud service through a thin client, thereby improving work efficiency of the user.

The notification management permits manipulation of the message notifications without influencing the status of the messages themselves, while providing access to the data contained in these messages. This addresses the needs of those users who frequently check their incoming communications queues and need to determine very quickly which items need urgent attention and which ones can be deferred. The second device calculates an implicit urgency score based on the communication characteristics, and combines the implicit score with the explicit urgency indicator to determine whether a call is urgent. Abstract: A system for forcing e-mail addresses into the Bcc: field of transmitted messages in order to enforce user privacy. A user interface enables a user to indicate that their e-mail address is not to be included in a “To:” or “Cc:” field of an e-mail message from another user when the number of e-mail addresses contained in those fields exceeds a threshold size. The user's e-mail address and the associated threshold are stored for future reference when new messages are sent by the other user. Subsequently, when a new message is generated by the other user in which the number of e-mail addresses contained in the “To:” and/or “Cc:” field exceeds the threshold, then the disclosed system moves the user's e-mail address from the “To:” or “Cc:” field to the “Bcc:” field of the message before the message is transmitted to its recipients. Privacy messages may either be sent individually to specific users, or may be automatically generated as a result of a general privacy setting being indicated by the user.

One embodiment includes receiving an indication that a message has been communicated in association with a user device. A confirmation message is communicated to the user device. Abstract: Embodiments are provided for utilizing speech analytics for automatically managing messages in a communications network. A message from a calling party to an unavailable called party is recorded in a messaging management module. The messaging management module automatically identifies a category for assigning to the content of the message based on information associated with the unavailable called party or a calling party and associates a language model with the message content based on the category. An analysis module utilizes the language model to identify grammar making up the message content. The messaging management module automatically performs a messaging management function on the message content based on a set of rules. The messaging management function may include automatically determining a priority for the message (enabling the message to be retrieved out of order) or automatically triggering an action in response to the message which is directed to the unavailable called party.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system to remotely test message-waiting notifications over a communications network is provided. The method includes receiving broadband signaling from a voicemail platform; converting the broadband signaling to narrowband signaling; and transmitting the narrowband signaling, which generates status notifications, and transmits the status notifications to a remote test location. The system includes a switching element that routes the broadband signaling generated by the voicemail platform. The switching element routes the broadband signaling to a message processing component that executes code that searches a message-waiting-notification database to generate appropriate tones based on the broadband signaling received from the switching element.

Abstract: The present invention allows a user to screen messages being left at a hosted voicemail system from a telephone terminal. Incoming calls intended for the telephone terminal are routed to the voicemail system immediately or after attempting to connect incoming call to the telephone terminal. As the caller is leaving a message at the voicemail system, a connection between the incoming call, voicemail system, and telephone terminal is established to allow the user to listen to the message and decide whether to take the call. The user may decide to take the call or let the caller finish leaving the message. In one embodiment, the telephone terminal is equipped to open only the speaker channel for monitoring the message and will provide a fully bi-directional connection if the user takes the call. The supporting switch and telephone terminal communicate with each other to facilitate the monitoring and taking of calls.

Abstract: The present invention establishes a new protocol that supports the continuity of a single radio voice call onto a circuit switched communications system through the use of a special addressing identifier. This special identifier is called the single radio voice call identifier, and it designates the use of a single radio voice call continuity procedure for the transition to the circuit switched communication system. The applications server receives the single radio identifier and performs the transfer of the single radio voice session without the need for other address or identifier information, and also uses the single radio identifier or a new message type to initiate the correlation of parameters related to service control session establishment in later steps.
