For Access Opening In Sidewall Patents (Class 383/66)
  • Patent number: 6702461
Abstract: A multipurpose bag is formed of two plastic foil layers joined together to define a top, a bottom, and opposing sides. Peripheral joints between the layers extend along the bottom and the sides to define an inner chamber, the joint along one of the sides being divided by an unjoined area into top and bottom parts. A separation joint extends from the top part of the divided side peripheral joint toward the bottom peripheral joint, dividing the chamber into top and bottom chambers. The top defines a top opening communicating with the top chamber, and the unjoined area defines a side opening communicating with the bottom chamber. The separation joint restricts communication between the top and bottom chambers for preventing a solid product in the top chamber from passing into the bottom chamber, while allowing liquid to pass from the top chamber to the bottom chamber. Liquid may then be expelled from the bottom chamber through the side opening.

  • Patent number: 6431752
Abstract: A plastic coin bag for transporting a load of loose coins includes a slot opening in the front panel, a closure member for sealing the closure member to close and seal the slot opening, a back panel forming a coin storage chamber with the front panel, and a patch panel located between the upper portions of the front and back panels to increase the manual carrying capacity and the strength of the bag handle or hand-grip opening region. A transverse secure line below the hand-grip opening seals the three panels together and forms the top of the storage chamber. In one embodiment, the patch panel can extend into the storage chamber to below the slot opening in the front panel to adhere to the closure adhesive if the slot is improperly spread open during press closing. This feature prevents coins from sticking to the adhesive or the false tripping if the closure comprises tamper evident tape and the back panel adheres to the closure adhesive.

Abstract: A disposable pet litter bag including: a bottom wall, first and second side walls connected to the bottom wall, a rear wall and a front wall connected to the bottom wall and to the first and second side walls to form a bag having a top opening. The front wall has an opening for the ingress and egress of the pet. The upper ends of the rear and front walls are provided with a mechanism for detachably connecting the rear and front walls, such that the top opening can be secured closed. The bag is designed and configured to be unfolded just before use. The bag is further designed and configured to enable the establishment of the bag in an open position by pressure exerted by hands inserted through the top opening, and to conveniently allow the addition of fresh litter through the top opening. The bag is further designed and configured such that on demand, the top opening is securely closable.

Abstract: Sealing device for flexible liquid container is disclosed. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the sealing device comprises an elongated member with a hollow passage extending through it with a longitudinal slot, slidingly mountable over a rod, which is provided over a lateral opening of a flexible liquid container. In another preferred embodiment of the present invention the rod is attached to the member extending through the passage. When the portion of the container provided with the lateral opening is folded over the rod, substantially overlapping an adjacent portion of the container and the sealer is slidingly mounted over the folded portion of the container, liquid is prevented from leaking out of the container through the lateral opening.

Abstract: A web of serially positioned pre-opened sterile bags adapted for implementation with an automatic bagging machine is presented. The web of bags is defined by a polyester sheet selectively bonded to a paper backing sheet, with the bags being separable from each other by perforations. The webs of bags conducive for implementation with automated packaging equipment are devised by slitting columns of bags from an existing matrix and separating the bags within the columns from each other by means of perforations.

Abstract: A package in the form of a reclosable bag includes a bag body including front and back walls, and a profile strip fastener assembly sealingly mounted on the inside surface of the front wall. The profile strip fastener assembly includes a pair of releasably interlocking profile strips, with a secondary, peelable seal provided between the profile strips apart from their mechanically interlocked portions. By this arrangement, enhanced sealing for the package is provided, while abating the stress to which the interlocked portions of the profile strips are subjected during forming and filling of the package. The bag body preferably includes a frangible joint substantially aligned with the fastener assembly for gaining access to the assembly, with the frangible joint desirably providing tamper-evidence of opening of the package. The profile strips are sealed to the front wall of the bag body with a continuous oval shaped seal around the frangible joint. The perimeter seal is located above the peelable seal.
