As a result, the angular orientation of the rotational axis of the roller mounted in the bearing block is varied. A sliding element is releasably fastened to the slide. The sliding element, which is produced from a highly slideable material, is disposed between the slide and the at least one guide rail.

Abstract: First and second sliding parts of a sliding mechanism slide relative to each other. The first sliding part is held in a recess of a metal holding member, which is bounded by an inner wall that meets an open end of the recess along an edge. The first sliding part has a first side surface portion that contacts the inner wall in the recess away from the edge, and a second side surface portion displaced inwardly away from the inner wall so as not to contact the holding member at the edge. By this structure, generation of stress concentration on the sliding part can be avoided.

Abstract: A knife carriage for face-to-face weaving machines has a supporting surface with interchangeable, adjustable sliding parts which direct the knife carriage in relation to a guiding section. A cutting instrument separates top and bottom fabrics from each other. The instrument has attachment(s) for a drive cord from a drive mechanism for the knife carriage. The sliding parts and the attachment(s) for the drive cord on the supporting surface have a device, which when tightened, makes the attachment line of the device coincide respectively with the contact line of the sliding parts with the supporting surface, and surface the contact surface of the attachment(s) with the supporting surface. The length of the supporting surface is smaller than the distance between the extremities of the sliding parts protruding in relation to the supporting surface in longitudinal direction of the knife carriage.

  • Patent number: 6119540
Abstract: A yoke apparatus 34 is useful with a steering system having a pinion gear 20 and a longitudinally movable rack 24 engaged with the pinion gear 20. The yoke apparatus 34 comprises a bearing disc 36 received in the aperture 32, and a pair of biasing members 40 and 38 disposed in parallel with one another, each biasing the bearing disc 36 against the rack 24. This in turn biases the rack 24 against the pinion gear 20. The biasing members 40 and 38 have different spring constants and different compliances. Preferably, one of the biasing members 40 and 38 is a compression spring member 40 while the other is an elastomeric O-ring member 38, or other elastomeric member having a highly non-linear compliance. The yoke apparatus 34 also preferably comprises a plug 42 adjustably received in the aperture 32 which applies an axial load to the pair of biasing members 40 and 38.

  • Patent number: 6113275
Abstract: A sliding bearing for supporting shafts and the like, with a bearing body made of plastic and a housing supporting the bearing body, where the sliding bearing essentially encloses the full circumference of the shaft. The bearing body (1) displays a slit (2) extending along the entire length of its axis and at least one deformable zone, likewise extending along the entire length of the axis, which allows the slit (2) to be opened so that the bearing body (1) can essentially be fitted to the shaft, and also removed from the shaft, in the radial direction. This drastically reduces the work involved in replacing the bearing body during repairs. The bearing body (1) can comprise individual webs (3) which are connected to one another via deformable zones designed as flexible film bridges (6) which can be locked in place in the housing by means of projections (7) provided on the webs (3).
