  • Patent number: 10428801
Abstract: A one-way clutch used in a wind power generation device integrally rotatably connects an input rotating body and an output rotating body to each other in a state in which a rotational speed of the input rotating body exceeds a rotational speed of the output rotating body, and breaks connection between the input rotating body and the output rotating body in a state in which the rotational speed of the input rotating body is lower than the rotational speed of the output rotating body. The input rotating body and the output rotating body are allowed to relatively move along an axial direction, and a maximum allowance of movement is set to be larger than variation of a distance along the axial direction between an input shaft and an output shaft caused by state change.

  • Patent number: 8992157
Abstract: A crowd assembly (30) for a power shovel (10) includes a saddle block (34) adapted for pivotal connection to the shovel boom (24). A tubular dipper handle (32) is slideably supported by the saddle block. A hydraulic actuator (50) has a cylinder (52) and a piston rod (54) that is outwardly extendable from one end of the cylinder. One of the cylinder or the piston rod is fixed to the dipper handle and the other one is attached to the saddle block. The cylinder and the piston rod are within the tubular dipper handle which is able to slide longitudinally over the cylinder. A guide bushing (70) extends around the one end of the cylinder and engages an interior surface of the dipper handle. The guide bushing thereby supports that end of the cylinder and inhibits hydraulic actuator from deflecting within the dipper handle when the piston rod is extended from the cylinder.

Abstract: Bearing arrangements are described which enable rotation about a vertical axis with a very extended diameter bearing, for example 20 meters diameter. A usually stationary base supports a rotating member, e.g. on a fluid cushion. Separately, a ring of radially adjustable arcuate surface support pads on an outer member acts against a cylindrical surface of an inner member. The adjustability of the radially movable support pads enables them to increase their thrust at parts of the circumferences of the bearing relative to others. This enables considerably smoother running to be achieved, both to compensate for the difficulties of producing complete circularity with a bearing diameter of substantial size, and for varying direction lateral loadings, e.g. as experienced by a vertical axis wind-driven turbine.

Abstract: In the troidal type continuously variable transmission system 100 incorporating a power roller bearing 11 therein, race grooves 15 and 16 respectively formed in the inner and outer races 35 and 13 of the power roller bearing 11 are respectively structured in such a manner as to have an arc-shaped cross section, and the radii of curvatures of the arc-shaped cross sections of the race grooves 15 and 16 are set in the range of 52% to 59% of the diameter of a rolling ball body which can roll on these race grooves, thereby being able not only to restrict an increase in the dynamic torque of the power roller bearing but also to improve the life of the power roller bearing.

  • Patent number: 5705133
Abstract: An improved rotating basket extractor is provided having improved discharge means comprising a hopper section having a solid material entry and solid material exit end. The cross sectional area of the solid material entry end is smaller than the exit end so as to help prevent the agglomeration of solid material in the discharge hopper as it exits from the rotating baskets to a dual screw conveyor for subsequent travel to a discharge chute. The discharge hopper and the housing for the dual screw conveyor comprise slot means to provide for additional drainage of miscella therethrough. Additionally, the axially disposed rotatable shaft, supporting the rotating baskets, is journalled in upper and lower bearings located outside the outer housing member for ease of maintenance. The lower thrust bearing is mounted for direct support by the flooring substrate below the outer housing of the extractor to help minimize bearing contamination and corrosion.

  • Patent number: 5160247
Abstract: A hermetic compressor including a hardened cylindrical pin bearing disposed through the crankshaft permits a line contact between the crankshaft and bearing hub for a more efficient compressor. The pin bearing reduces friction while increasing compressor efficiency. In one embodiment, the hardened steel pin is constructed in two parts permitting rotation within the crankshaft. In another embodiment, hardened metal sleeves surround the cylindrical bearing pin allowing.

  • Patent number: 4614447
Abstract: A rotary machine carried on a vehicle has a rotary part carried on a fixed part by means of a rolling bearing. The parts of the bearing can be separated by a lifting jack when the vehicle is travelling to reduce vibration and wear. Devices responsive to the pressure supplied to the jack stop the motor driving the rotary part when a first threshold pressure is exceeded, prevent ignition of the vehicle engine until a second threshold pressure is exceeded, and control the pump feeding the jack to maintain a third threshold value which is above the second threshold pressure.
