The controller controls the image forming section not to record the toner image based on the image data in the vicinity of an edge portion on a side of the spine of each of the recording sheets that constitute the sheet bundle.

  • Patent number: 7260354
Abstract: Using an adhesive toner that is lower in a lower-limit temperature of a fixable temperature than an image forming toner, the image forming toner and the adhesive toner are formed on one and the same transfer material. A document is sealed by an adhesive force of the adhesive toner, at a temperature at which the image forming toner develops no adhesive force.

  • Patent number: 6933029
Abstract: A label sheet for electrophotographic process is composed of a label body in which an adhesive layer is formed on the back surface of a label base and a separator that is tentatively bonded to the label body with the adhesive layer interposed in between so as to be peelable from the label body. Both of the label base and a separator base are made of heat-resistant resin film. A toner accepting layer contains a release agent and has surface resistivity of 1×1014 ?/? or more. An antistatic treatment layer has surface resistivity of 1×108 to 1×1012 ?/?.

  • Patent number: 6904262
Abstract: The invention provides a double-faced image formation system that prevents transfer and adhesion of a lubricant to an image retaining conveyer and an intermediate transfer part. The system is provided with, on a return path for reversing and conveying a sheet having toner images fixed on one side thereof, a front face electrifying unit and a rear face electrifying unit. Oil adhered on the rear face of the sheet in a fixation unit by the rear face electrifying unit is electrified to a negative polarity, and the oil adhered on the rear face is made impossible to transfer to an intermediate transfer belt. The oil adhered on the front face of the sheet in the fixation unit by the front face electrifying unit is electrified to a positive polarity, and the oil adhered on the front face is made impossible to transfer to a secondary transfer conveyance belt.

Abstract: A printer or other powder deposition device may include multiple toning stations, and the toning stations may be positioned in various configurations within the device. The various configurations may position the toning stations so as to increase the toning width of the device, thereby allowing the device to print larger process widths. The device may also perform processing control for the multiple toning stations.

  • Patent number: 6577845
Abstract: Using imaging material binding techniques to simulate continuous sheet printing with single sheets of print media. Imaging material is applied to a binding region along the trailing edge of a first sheet. The trailing edge of the first sheet and the leading edge of a following second sheet are overlapped and the imaging material is activated to bind the sheets together. This process may be repeated for successive sheets to form one continuous sheet. The invention may be implemented, for example, in a stand alone appliance used in conjunction with a conventional single sheet printer, as an integrated printing device, or through a computer readable medium used to control operations in one or both of these devices.
