The method further includes sending an instruction to illuminate an ultra-violet source to direct ultra-violet light at the graphic of the removable applique to render the graphic visible. In one embodiment, the instruction to illuminate the ultra-violet source can be sent in response to the activation of a switch, button, control panel or other input means of controlling the ultra-violet source. In another embodiment, the instruction to illuminate the ultra-violet source can be sent in response to a vehicle state.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of improving roadway safety by increasing societal awareness and providing a recognizable symbol or figure that alerts motorists of upcoming roadway hazards, construction sites and broken down vehicles and triggers a compliant response. The method includes the introduction of a safety alert figure or symbol, which can be utilized in a broad marketing, advertising and educational campaign for the purposes of increasing roadway safety and awareness, particularly for commonly dangerous roadway environments involving motorists and pedestrians or roadway workers. The method also comprises the physical implementation of the figure as a roadway sign, alerting motorists and directing traffic while affiliating the sign with the campaigned figure. The goal is to increase roadway awareness, increase motorist compliance with roadway signs and reduce the instances of injury or fatality as a result of roadway collisions in these environments.

Additionally, the transparent cover plate at least partially covers a portion of the decal and the underlying base plate to prevent wear of the decal. This is particular applicable to high wear regions such as in the boot area of the motocross motorcycle where decals are typically subject to high wear.

Abstract: A multi-panel electronic display for use on a structure, comprising a frame removably attached to the structure in such a way as to encounter a natural airflow, a plurality of individual panels mounted on the frame, each panel comprising a first side and a second side opposite the first side, the first side comprising a plurality of light sources, wherein each individual panel works with other individual panels to display an image, and a printed circuit on the second side of more than one of the individual panels of the multi-panel electronic display and in thermally conductive communication with the frame such that heat generated by electronic components on the circuit board is dissipated within the frame and such that the frame is cooled by the natural airflow. The frame may be corrugated to facilitate dissipation of the heat and create space for electrical wiring, and thermally conductive pads may be inserted between the circuit board and the frame to further dissipate heat.

Abstract: An illuminated display configured for mounting to an automobile flag pole, or alternatively, to a window, the display including a rectangular enclosure having a transparent first side, a transparent second side, a bottom side, opposing lateral sides and a hinged-top lid. An interchangeable first panel displaying a first indicia, an interchangeable second panel displaying a second indicia and an opaque middle panel having a light source coupled to each side thereof are supported within the enclosure by sets of opposing tracks extending along the interior surface of the enclosure.
