Abstract: A miniature sports logo display is disclosed. It allows a miniature sports team uniform, together with the team logo, the team color, a player's name and a player's number to be publicly displayed from a motor vehicle window. The invention is comprised of a miniature sports uniform having the described features and adapted to receive a miniature hanger, a miniature hanger inserted into the uniform for suspension of the uniform, and means, such as a suction cup, for securing the miniature hanger and uniform to a substantially vertical surface, attached to the hook of the miniature hanger. Optionally, the miniature sports uniform may be covered with a transparent cover.

Abstract: An image display unit 10 comprises a light source 14 a light diffusing panel 18, over which is mounted an opposed pair or retaining sheets 20 with a volume 22 formed between each retaining sheet 20 and the panel 18 for receiving an image-bearing sheet 34. An elongate opening 26, 28 for providing access to the volume 22 formed in each face of the unit 10 is located spaced from the edges of the unit 10, so allowing a user to access the volumes 22 regardless of proximity of the edges of the unit 10 to other units, or to a wall or the like.

Abstract: The present invention provides a retail store information display device for suspension from a ceiling over merchandise displays or aisles. The retail store information display system comprises one or more panels containing information, an elongated horizontal track, a plurality of carrier means slidably supported by said track, and connecting means for suspending the track from a ceiling a sufficient height above any merchandise displays or aisles. The panels can be positioned with respect to the merchandise displays or aisles by sliding them along the horizontal track. The retail store information display device assists retailers in hanging panels, such as signs and banners, quickly and uniformly throughout a store.

Abstract: A remote-controlled motor-driven drum is provided to wind and unwind a cord which holds a self-balancing sign carrier. The sign carrier, which has telescoping rails, is adjustable in width. Its center rail includes two sheaves to receive the cord and lead it from the drum back to an end secured to the ceiling. Rotation of the drum raises and lowers the sign carrier and a sign carried by it. The sheaves on the carrier also serve to make the unit self-balancing. The motor responds to actuating signals for raising and lowering the sign and to safety features. Safety features include a limit switch which stops the motor when an object gets in the way, an overload control which stops the motor if excessive weight is detected, and the use of the motor for braking.

Abstract: A lug system having a lug and a receiving housing. A turning knuckle is joined to the receiving housing by an adapter. The lug, the turning knuckle and the adapter form a cable channel which opens into the inner chamber of the receiving housing. The adapter is connected to the receiving housing in a stable manner. The receiving housing has a housing frame composed of frame profiles. The housing frame is closed or can be closed on the backside by a separate back wall. The adapter is connected to at least one of the frame profiles and has a connected section for the turning knuckle. The connected section protrudes over the frame profile on the backside.

Abstract: A system for mounting a sign to a structure includes a pivoted cam-locking arrangement for retaining the sign in certain orientations relative to the structure, while allowing the sign to be rotated from one to another of those orientations.

Abstract: A store display enabling improved structure, versatility, adaptability and/or cost effectiveness is provided. The store display includes a base sheet and a frame. The base sheet is preferably fabricated independently of the frame. The frame is preferably extruded. The base sheet is preferably molded (e.g., injection molded or extruded) and then cut to a desired size. After the sheet is formed, engaging tabs are punched along the side edge sheet. The frame includes a receiving channel having tangs that engage the engaging tabs.

Within the aluminum extrusion there is a first external channel, a second external channel, and a center channel. A decor panel is removably disposed within said external channel, and another decor panel may be disposed within the second external channel. End caps are removably connected to the assembly.

Abstract: The present invention is a ceiling display that has a generally rectangular panel. A lip is attached generally around a portion of the perimeter of the panel. The lip is receivable by the grid of a suspended ceiling. An advertisement attached to the panel serves to promote the attributes of a product.

A pole coupled to the panel to support the panel.

Abstract: A hanging sign is provided for displaying messages. The sign may include a pair of walls that face in generally opposite directions so that messages can be displayed in two general directions, and a hook for hanging the walls from a support, such as a handrail assembly or other stanchion. The sign also may be configured to hang from a door handle and include a single display panel angled to face a pedestrian approaching the door. The sign may have a cavity to provide for nesting of a plurality of similar signs. A method is disclosed for hanging a sign to provide information to pedestrians.

Abstract: A self-leveling sign hanging device having a housing hung from the structural support members of suspended ceilings. A cable is stored in the housing on a wind up reel. A spring applies a force to the reel to wind the cable on the reel. The cable exits and returns to the housing forming a loop. At the bottom of the loop is a tubular bracket from which the sign is hung. The cable freely passes through the tubular bracket which allows the tubular bracket to remain horizontally level. Stops are mounted on the cable to restrict the length of cable wound onto the reel thus defining the height that the sign hangs above the floor.

Abstract: A display sign for suspension from a ceiling has a ceiling mount with a passage extending therethrough. A turntable is rotatably held in the passage, with a graphic holder attached to the turntable and thereby rotatably mounted below the sign mount. The display sign may be mounted in a ceiling below a light fixture so that the display holder will be illuminated.

Abstract: A back illuminated ceiling mounted display panel attaches to the outside of the framework of ceiling panels and overlaps the grid of the framework to include a total covering of the ceiling light fixture with the panel on and or the panel off. The display attaches to the outside panel ceiling framework, and covers the actual frame of the ceiling fluorescent light box, or can attach to the frame of the light box. The attachment mechanism is a strip that clips the outer length of the framework of the ceiling panel to the frame of the fluorescent light box. When properly mounted, the strips are flush mounted on the ceiling grid system and attaches securely between the light box and the ceiling grid system, and or framework of the suspended ceiling.

Abstract: A mapping system is provided comprising a plurality of display panels (8) located at or on a ceiling of a building such as a supermarket. The panels (8) form a network of routes through the supermarket, with each panel illustrating the content of the supermarket aisle (4) adjacent the panel (8). The elevated nature of the panels (8) allows users to identify the content of aisles (4) distant from their current location, and users may thus identify a route leading to the selectred aisle as well as the contents of aisles along which the route passes. A number of alternative embodiments of the invention are described, together with methods of guiding individuals around environments using maps of the invention.

Abstract: A support assembly in a decorative structure includes at least two suspended elements. The support assembly includes a support tube having a hollow interior and opposed end portions. In an embodiment, a pair of selectively removable adjustment are adapted to interlock with a respective end portion of the support tube. A flexible, elongate support element is secured between each of the clips and the respective end portions of the support tube. The elongate support element has two ends, each of the ends being adapted for attachment to a suspended element of the decorative structure. The adjustment clips can be adapted to fit over the end portions of the support tube, which can be constructed as a hollow cylindrical tube. In an illustrated embodiment, the adjustment clips comprise annular cylindrical members having an inner diameter approximately equal to an outer diameter of the support tube. In another embodiment, the elongate support element is secured in slits on the respective ends of the support tube.

The device further includes an upper bar carrying a pair of bar end pulleys disposed at opposed first and second end portions thereof and a lower bar cooperating with the upper bar to support the sheet-shaped information medium. An intermediate pulley system is provided that includes a pair of intermediate bar pulleys carried by the upper bar, and an intermediate wall element carrying an intermediate element pulley arranged to be positioned between the first and second end wall elements. A cord is provided that is secured to the first end wall element and extends through the plurality of pulleys carried by the upper bar and wall elements.

The device is constructed from an elongated piece of fabric, having a top portion, a bottom portion, and a middle portion. An overlay extends down the length of the piece of fabric, with a plurality of ribbons attached to the overlay in a straight column. Each ribbon has a midpoint stitched to the overlay and two unattached halves. The number of ribbons on the device constitute the number of days in the countdown. The ribbons are tied around a treat, and as each day elapses, the uppermost ribbon is untied and the treat is released.

Abstract: A hanging sign support has at least one housing supported by a mounting surface. The housing has an interior portion and a cord opening into the interior portion. A recoil mechanism is arranged to cooperate with the interior portion of each of the housings. A cord is associated with each recoil mechanism and has a distal end that is extendible through the cord opening and away from the respective housing. The distal end is retractable and biased by the recoil mechanism toward the interior of the respective housing. A connecting device is carried on the distal end of each cord for removably coupling the cord to a portion of a sign. Each cord, the distal end of each cord, and each connecting device can be constructed to retract into a portion of the respective housing when not supporting a sign. A spacer can be received over each cord and coupled between the respective housing and a sign supported by the cord to place the sign at a desired distance from the respective housing or the mounting surface.

Abstract: A door sign includes spaced front and rear panels with a side panel perpendicularly disposed therebetween. Both the front and rear panels each include an angularly extending slot for accommodating a door knob shaft. The side panel includes an elongated opening for receiving the door knob latch and possibly a dead bolt latch if the door is so equipped. The sign is positioned such that the door knob shafts are within the angular slots and the door knob latch is protruding through the side panel opening. If the door is closed and locked, the sign cannot be removed without unlocking and opening the door thereby preventing tampering or removal by unauthorized passers by.

Banner (14) is suspended below an aircraft by line (4) held taut by ballasted container (24). Static line (26) attached to the aircraft will, on release of loop (6) of line (4) from the aircraft, pull on closures (12) and release parachute (8) from its container (10). Drag of parachute (8) in the slipstream will slow the fall of banner (14) and also pull on lanyard (20) so that it activates 3-ring release (22) causing container (24) to invert and disperse the ballast.

A driver, including a sound playback device, is mounted in the case and coupled to the speaker. The playback device has stored therein a sound recording containing information related to the mistletoe object. The recording contains information concerning kissing. A proximity sensor is mounted at the mistletoe object outside the case. A proximity sensor, including a sensing head and a wire, is routed between the case and the sensing head. The sensing head dangles on the wire. The proximity sensor is coupled to the playback device for producing a proximity signal in response to arrival of a person. The playback device can play the sound recording through the speaker in response to the proximity signal.

The present system includes a plurality of interchangeable display structures of different geometric shapes and sizes, which are constructed from both transparent and translucent materials that function with backlighting being installed directly underneath ceiling light fixtures and, alternatively, from opaque plastic materials being attached at ceiling locations without direct illumination. Each sign or display element includes integral retaining flanges with compressive elements that are formed by the use of die-cutting, scoring, folding, and other assembly techniques during construction thereby eliminating the need for fastening hardware and adhesive materials for installation.

The base has an aperture formed in the base portion while at least one slot is formed in the forward end of the base portion and at least one slot is formed in the back end of the base portion. The aperture is configured to receive the plurality of balloon strings therethrough, and the slots are configured to receive the plurality of balloon strings such that as the plurality of balloon strings are wrapped about the base, the balloon strings are releasably retained by the slots.

Abstract: Light weight, foamed panels are suspended in spaced relation above the floor of an arena to create “privacy zones” which facilitate discussion and concentration on details. In the prior art, attachment of the panels to mounting rods was predicated on cementing wooden strips in the upper surface of the panel, in order to provide T-nuts, into which suspension rods are threaded. The improved installation employs a plurality of attaching members, each of which has a tubular body portion which is inserted through a vertically disposed hole in the foamed panel and an ornamental flange projecting laterally and underlying the bottom of the penal. Each tubular body portion has a threaded portion which is threaded onto a supporting rod. Torquing surfaces are provided on the attaching members to facilitate their being threaded onto the supporting rods.

Abstract: An outdoor advertising system has a lightweight hollow mast; a mounting base for the mast; a direct-insert anchor securing system; and a range of three dimensional artifacts, and banners that are weather insensitive. The mast mounts on the base, having lightweight fittings, including a top-mounted rotatable cantilever arm enabling the arm and its banner to “weathervane” in the wind. An ovoid hooped frame embodiment pivotally cantilevered from the mast, supports a sleeved banner like a wind-sock. The ovoid shape provides effective side display areas. Another elongated banner embodiment with several triangular banners in spaced angular relation as a form of tree encloses the mast, with the bottom outer corners of the banners ground anchored, serving as mast stays. A drinking cup embodiment may be mounted about the mast. The fabric artifacts stand up to fourteen feet in height.

Abstract: A system for displaying and storing sheets including printed information thereon, as well as the components of the system separately. The system includes a plurality of relatively rigid sheets with the printed information thereon, a mounting fixture for displaying at least one sheet, and a hanging bar for storing the sheets not being used. Specifically, the mounting fixture includes an elongated bar, means for attaching the elongated bar to a wall, and a plurality of hooks. The hanging bar includes a rod, an upper hook configured for hanging the bar upon a pole, and at least two generally S-shaped hooks attached to the rod. The S-shaped hooks are designed to receive the sheets not being displayed. The printed information may include word puzzles, rebuses, gramograms, doodles, etc. If the information is a type of puzzle, a separate answer key is also preferably provided as part of the system.

Abstract: A hanging sign support has at least one housing supported by a mounting surface. The housing has an interior portion and a cord opening into the interior portion. A recoil mechanism is arranged to cooperate with the interior portion of each of the housings. A cord is associated with each recoil mechanism and has a distal end that is extendible through the cord opening and away from the respective housing. The distal end is retractable and biased by the recoil mechanism toward the interior of the respective housing. A connecting device is carried on the distal end of each cord for removably coupling the cord to a portion of a sign. Each cord, the distal end of each cord, and each connecting device can be constructed to retract into a portion of the respective housing when not supporting a sign. A spacer can be received over each cord and coupled between the respective housing and a sign supported by the cord to place the sign at a desired distance from the respective housing or the mounting surface.

Abstract: A portable sign holding apparatus for use in single and double-hung windows generally comprising a central housing unit which includes horizontal mounting means for engaging the interior of window jambs, vertical mounting means for engaging the window sill and sash, and sign support means capable of suspending a sign in perpendicular relationship to the face of a building. In use, the horizontal and vertical mounting means engage the surfaces of windows of different sizes via telescopic adjustability to prevent lateral and vertical movement of the apparatus, respectively, within the window frame. Movement of the apparatus and support of the weight of the sign are further provided by a bracket disposed between the sign support means and the exterior wall surface of the building. In combination, the bracket, and vertical and horizontal mounting means provide a highly stable sign suspension device which may be quickly and easily installed without any screws or other invasive means.

The label has an upper surface and lower surface and is secured to the liner by an adhesive layer on its lower surface. The handle is affixed to the upper surface of the label, and includes an elongate strip and a hanger. The elongate strip has an upper and a lower surface extending continuously across an entire length of the label. The lower surface of the elongate strip is firmly secured to the upper surface of the label by a strong bonding material and a hanger portion integrally connected to the elongate strip and extending therefrom.

Abstract: The present invention is a retractable display apparatus comprising at least one upright support having at least one retractable cord able to extend generally perpendicular to the stanchion, said cord able to attach to an object or preferably a matching stanchion. Preferably, each stanchion is a T-shape, but may be other shapes, for example, an inverted L shape, which has a riser plus one horizontally-extending side arm at or near the top of the riser. Retractor mechanisms and locking mechanisms are preferably included for each cord, for easy and neat handling of the cord, preferably by winding the cord on a rotating member (“spool”). The apparatus is adapted so that the cord(s) support one or more signs or banners or other items that might be decorative or functional for a retailer, warehouse, flea market, or other business.

The rope is routed through spaced-apart holes in the cushion to provide two-point support. A stabilizer slat is carried by the rope between cushion and ceiling to prevent twisting of cushion and to dampen vibration of rope upon impact of vehicle door.

Abstract: A housing is provided which attaches to a wall and includes mechanisms for releasable attachment to a wall hanging such as a calendar. The housing may have a decorative facade and includes a depressible button which operates through a spring biased J-shaped rod or flexible strips to move a clasp member out of an elongated slot in the bottom of the housing. The slot accommodates an edge portion of a wall hanging. Securement occurs when the button is released and the spring bias or inherent flexibility of the strip member frictionally engage the wall hanging edge. Alternatively, the wall hanging edge may include an engagement aperture. In such case, the clasp member will pass through the aperture and suspend the wall hanging in the housing slot.
