Abstract: A novel bag tag comprises an elongated strip of material formed from a facestock and heavily bonded to a tear resistant liner. Some, but not all of the liner is removable on our end of the strip so that the two ends of the strip can be adhesively joined together for attaching the tag to a piece of luggage. The non-removable portion of liner remains in place to prevent tearing of the tag on the end bearing the adhesive layer.

Abstract: A promotional tack includes a standard thumbtack having a head sandwiched between significantly larger front and rear outer structures coaxially therewith, the tack having a shaft extending through an aperture in the rear structure while the front structure has an indicia-bearing obverse surface. The front structure includes a metal plate and the indicia may be imprinted directly on the metal plate or on a laminated flexible sheet covering the metal plate.
Abstract: A tamper-proof seal assembly for discouraging and detecting tampering of containers onto which the tamper-proof seal assembly is installed. The container includes a closure assembly. The closure assembly defines an opening. The tamper-proof seal assembly includes a security tag and a button assembly. The security tag includes a flag and a stem. The flag and stem are integral but are easily severable. The button assembly includes an outer button and an inner button. The button assembly is mounted on the container proximate the closure assembly. The stem is inserted through the closure assembly opening and into the button assembly, where the stem is secured against withdrawal by a ratchet.
Abstract: A merchandising tag for use on displayed electrical devices is disclosed. The tag includes an aperture which may accept an existing screw of the electrical device, to trap the tag between the screw head and the device. The aperture may be preformed or may be a die-cut perforation. The tag includes identification indicia usable for merchandising the displayed device. The tag may be a single stiff layer, or may include a first paper layer attached to a second stiff plastic layer. The first paper layer would include the indicia and may advantageously be an attention grabbing color such as a fluorescent color. In either embodiment, the tag is preferably stiff and bend-resistant enough to extend from the device in a secure manner, without sagging or folding over.

Abstract: A combination bag tag and zipper lock is formed from a stamped out piece of metal, and has a pair of pointed legs which may be formed from a frangible central portion and bent outwardly, away from a first surface of the stamped out blank so as to form a pair of pointed securing elements. The securing elements are preferably bent outwardly at about 90.degree. from the first surface, and have their pointed ends inserted through opposite sides of a zipper closure at either or both ends on a body bag until a bottom surface of the bag tag/zipper lock contacts the closed zipper closure. The securing elements are then bent over the closed zipper closure so as to securely hold the zipper closure together.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for marking and identifying birds. The tagging system includes a securing filament, an anchor tag and an identification tag. Both the anchor tag and the identification tag are provided with holes for reception of the securing filament. The securing filament is pierced through approximately one-half inch of the neck skin of the bird, and is secured by placement of the anchor tag on one side of the pierced skin and the identification tag on the opposed side of the pierced skin. The securing filament is provided with opposed cylindrical restriction bar which pass through the reception holes in the anchor tag and the identification tag thereby securing each tag between the pierced skin and a cylindrical restriction bar.
Abstract: This sheet material marking tag has a stiffly resilient header part united along a border to an information part for printed matter. A holding orifice in the header comprises a major recess divisible into substantially equal upper and lower halves. The orifice has an internal edge and the internal edge has a lower span consisting of all portions of the internal edge below the upper half of the major recess. A stub nose projects laterally from the orifice and terminates as a blunt tip. The lower edge of the nose tapers toward the border but terminates at an orifice entry slit on the lower span of the orifice internal edge. A V-shaped open mouth below the nose has an upper lip common to the lower edge of the nose and a lower lip tapering toward the orifice but terminating at a lower lip intersection along the lower edge of the nose at a location spaced from the orifice. A pinch entry channel extends as a length along the lower edge of the nose between the lower lip intersection and the orifice entry slit.
Abstract: A self-laminating system for sealing a business card or the like to a luggage tag. The self laminating system comprises a rigid backing, a flexible transparent sheet with a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive material thereon and a removable cover liner which covers the entire area of the pressure sensitive adhesive material. The cover liner has a pre-cut crease which separates it into an upper portion and a lower portion, where the upper portion is pre-removed such that an exposed area of the pressure sensitive adhesive material on the flexible transparent sheet is affixed to the rigid backing. The card is placed between the rigid backing and the transparent sheet such that the lower portion of the cover liner is peeled off which exposes the rest of the pressure adhesive material so that the flexible transparent sheet can be securely affixed to the business card and the periphery of the rigid backing.
Abstract: Gusseted plastic bags and methods of making the same in either rolls or stack packs, each bag having at least one plastic promotional strip extending along a side edge of the bag and secured adjacent to top and bottom edges. The promotional strip may be disposed either between the folded bag edges forming the gusset or outside of the gusset, and may or may not be perforated.
Abstract: A label comprises an upper surface, a lower surface having an adhesive layer thereon to permit adherence of the label to a surface, and a handle portion. The handle has thereon a substantially centrally located pull tab and a series of cuts which permit unfolding of the handle portion into a hanging strip. The cuts are arranged such that the handle portion unfolds along the cuts when the pull tab is pulled. The handle portion has a deadening layer on the adhesive layer thereof.

Abstract: A plastic fastener which may be inserted into a body of meat for tagging purposes and then subsequently removed therefrom intact comprises an elongated unitary plastic member shaped to include a transverse bar, a paddle, and a flexible filament interconnecting the transverse tag and paddle. The transverse bar is interconnected to the filament in a T shaped configuration. In one embodiment, the portion of the transverse bar constituting the trailing end thereof when the transverse bar is inserted into the meat is made smaller than normal so as to minimize the likelihood of the transverse bar severing from the filament when the fastener is withdrawn from the body of the meat.

Abstract: A product information module (such as a shelf tag, shelf label or the like) includes a housing in which a physical embodiment of information is mounted and a locking device which mounts the housing to a support surface. The locking device includes a locking member which coacts with the support surface to form an angle A whose tangent is less than the coefficient of friction between the locking member and the support surface. As a consequence, locking force is minimal and lateral movement of the module is resisted no matter how much force is applied.

Each of the attachments includes first and second T-bar ends with a flexible filament extending therebetween. The attaching device includes a housing with a recess having a first and second sections adapted to receive the first and second connecting bars, respectively. First and second hollow needles extend from the housing. The T-bar ends are pushed through needles by simultaneosuly actuatable ejector rods after each is severed from the associated connecting bar. The assembly of the attachments is advanced through the housing to align the T-bars with the needles by simultaneously actuated indexing gears. The gears cooperate with the elements which join the T-bar ends and the connecting bars.
Abstract: A product information display tag is particularly designed for presenting product information at the forward end of a product support hook of type having a proximal end mounting bracket in the form of a flat plate with prongs for snapping over a wire rod or transverse bar structure. The mounting portion of the tag is in the form of a fold-down panel with a central aperture for receiving the hook so that the panel can be positioned with its rear surface against the front surface of the plate. The panel has fold-back wings with contact adhesive thereon for folding back around the edges of the plate and adhesively securing against the rear surface of the plate. The panel may further have forwardly folding tabs for engaging and stabilizing the intermediate portion of the tag structure.
Abstract: A loop attachment in which each attachment has a plurality of filaments, joined in a loop by a seamless connector. Each attachment is insertable through at least one object and has an elongated filament that extends from a flattened object-penetrating part to the seamless connector. Abstract: An identification badge holder which is readily adapted to assembly line production thereby requiring less labor while resulting in a durable, pleasing and less costly product.
